Work Text:

Soap doesn't know what got into his head and his friends' head. First they just think it's funny to play escape in a haunted house, now they're running their asses off as they are being chased by random actors dressed in terrifying costumes that will haunt them in their sleep. Soap slams the door close behind him and breathes a sigh of relief. They were in the last room, the last level of the game. Or what they hopefully is the last level of this god forsaken place. Who even thought it'd be funny to pair puzzles, escape room, and horror? (Actual horror literally staring at this question right now.)

"Jesus Christ." One of them mumble and a groan from another. "Fuck, come on. Last room, let's get this over with." Soap pushes himself off the door and walks to the slightly opened door on the right of the hallway. "Oh." Alejandro and Rodolfo peek on the corners and see what made Soap halt. "Oh god." Inside the room were bodies covered with white cloth. Maybe some splash of dried fake blood.

"Looks like we will be expecting a white lady in this situation." Soap shudders at the thought of an actor wearing a white dress and possibly crawling on their feet. They should probably pick up but there wasn't any light and, somehow, Soap's flashlight went dead so they had to go around together with Rodolfo's flashlight.

Eventually they found a switch that turned on the light, it wasn't as bright as they hoped for but still enough to split up and find what they could find. The light is shit but they have to make progress with a shitty glowing bulb.

Soap finds something odd; there's a piece of paper taped to the wall on one side of the doorframe leading to the next room. It looks pretty worn out and not in good condition but he knows enough about writing to understand that it's a note or some kind of description that someone left behind.

Crank! Pull! Thud!

Soap flinches and looks behind him to see Alejandro opening a door. "Found one." And the lights went out with only Rodolfo's glowing flashlight. Then it came back on. Soap screams as he crawls backwards, right beside where he was just crouching to pick up something, was a long haired woman in torn white dress, literally in a crawling position. "FUCK!"  He scrambles to his feet and fails, damn shaky legs. Before his ass could hit the floor again, someone grabbed him from behind and held him up tight to stand on his legs.

The girl's head twitched before disappearing in the blink of the light. Soap takes a moment to breathe and leans his body to whoever is behind him. "God, did you grow taller Alejandro?" He jokes, hoping to light up the mood.

"Uhh, Soap?" Soap turns to look to his left and sees both Rodolfo and Alejandro at the corner, holding each other and pointing the flashlight at him. Soap's head turned up comically, above him sent shudders under his skin. A man way taller than Soap wearing an extra inch on his shoes. Looming over his height that makes him feel so small that it offends him mentally, arms still gently holding him up, those piercing eyes staring through cut through holes sends a blizzard in his blood.

Or a woman.

Someone.

He doesn't know.

They're literally just covered with white cloth over their head!

"BLOODY JESUS!" Soap pulls away and falls onto an empty bed. "God!" He can hear a quiet huff coming from the mysterious cheap blanket ghost person, almost like he's chuckling at his realization that he just got cradled by one of the actors. The ghost tilts their head and hands the note to Soap before stepping into the new room they found.

"I don't think I can get up for a few minutes." Said Soap, laying limp with shaky legs on the bed. Alejandro manages to let out a chuckle as he picks up the note from Soap's hand. "We got a clue. You wanna stay here for a bit?"

"Fuck no, I don't wanna get left alone with that bitch crawling around waiting for the perfect time to give me a heart attack." Soap grumbles as he steps into the room.

So it took another session of running away and trying to find spaces to hide from the creepy crawling lady to end up back into the ghost's arms, which Soap believes he wasn't supposed to know that room because it looks like a hiding spot for every monsters around the house. The room is small and can fit a perfect two human beings, except maybe it will only fit one due to someone's stupidly tall height in this situation but Soap managed.

"You're saving me more than I'm saving myself from this cursed horror house." Soap complains as he sits down on the chair. Soap takes this moment to look around and see some very normal personal belongings, like a phone, a notebook, and a bag with a shirt tossed on it. The ghost continues to stand on the only free space between them.

"... Coast is clear. Down the hallway to the left." Soap perks up at the voice and looks at the ghost with big eyes of wonder if that came from them. The ghost opens their door and pushes Soap out, immediately closing the door on him. "Wow, okay, rude." Soap scoffs as he goes down the hallway to find his friends.

====

Soap was busy trying to put the puzzle pieces to one on the door while Rodolfo is holding on the flashlight for him, Alejandro just awkwardly standing behind on guard. "And... Boom." Soap turns the door and pulls it. "We are not doing this again once we get out of here, college is a better horror house than this."

"I disagree and also agree on that!"

Rodolfo yelps and jumps on Alejandro's back. "Not this bitch again!" Alejandro immediately jumped on top of a crate while also holding Rodolfo's legs behind him. The lady let out a snarl and ignored them, choosing to target Soap and slowly inch closer to him. "Oh no, no, no, no, why me?!" Soap dashes down the more messy hallway, slowing him down a little. Either the lady is being merciful to him or she is as careful as him not to trip and die.

Strings of scottish profanity left his lips as he tried to climb up the stairs, wait- why are there stairs?! He doesn't remember a second story in the horror house. He stops and looks behind to see if the lady is still following him but he can only see pitch black ends. "What?" He drops down to the floor and stares down at the stairs. "What... where..."

"Quite a chase you had there." Soap turns his head around like an owl and sees the same blanket ghost staring down at him. "Am I in one of your secret tunnels?"

"... Something like that."

There was a little hesitation that Soap caught. "Okay... Uh... Could you get me back to my friends?"

"I'm afraid not."
