Chapter Text
Alador was sitting next to Darius with a bunch of papers spread out on the table in front of them. Last week's subject had been hard for Alador to understand and Darius had promised to help him out. The light brown haired boy knew he really should pay attention to what Darius was explaining but studying his face was much more fun. Darius was sitting in front of a window and the sun was hitting him in just the right way. His half lidded green eyes were focused on the notes he was holding and his long eyelashes framed his eyes perfectly. His skin looked so smooth with the sun giving him a beautiful almost glow and his lips looked so soft.
“Alador,” Darius said, now looking him in the eye.
“Alador, did you zone out again?” Darius said again looking a little pissed.
“Oh, uh, sorry i didn’t mean to”
“It’s fine, we can continue next week, I wanna get everything ready for tomorrow ” Darius said while gathering the notes into one neat pile. Alador suddenly felt ashamed for not paying attention. His friend had promised to help him, take his own time to teach him something, something he could learn on his own if he wasn’t this dumb.
“Are you going to grom?” Darius cut Aladors train of thought off, with no sign of annoyance anymore.
“uh, no, I don't have anyone to go with and I don't really wanna be alone the whole night” Alador wasn’t lying but wasn’t really planning on going even if he had someone to go with. He wasn’t a big fan of parties.
“You could hang out with me” Darius suggested, Alador now helping him clean up.
“Don’t you have your other friend to hang out with? I heard you guys were planning on going together as a group”
“Where’d you hear that?” Darius stopped to look at Alador.
“Oh, sorry, i overheard when i was waiting for you earlier” Alador lowered his voice out of embarrassment. Darius put the last papers in his bag and stood up.
“I mean you’re not wrong we are going as a group but I would love to also hang out with you. I know you say you don't like big groups but I bet you’d have fun if you just let yourself. ” He finished with a very matter of fact expression. Alador was not impressed. The only parties he had been to were with his dad and from his little experience he didn’t like them. He didn’t like wearing suits, he didn’t like big crowds of people, he didn’t like talking to people and he didn’t like loud noises and Alador had a hunch school parties would be even worse than fancy business parties.
“Alador,” His thoughts were once again cut off by Darius, this time with his hand on Aladors shoulder.
“Just come this once, it’ll be fun, I promise” Darius gave a soft smile that made Aladors heart beat just a little faster. It made Alador feel so safe and warm he never wanted to take his eyes off of his friend. After a little more thinking Alador agreed. Upon seeing how his agreement made Darius's smile grow even bigger he got a little excited. Maybe he would have fun.
