Summary
It’s Bonnie who’s an idiot for believing, over and over, that they just wanna talk. She’s always battling impulse against caution, and her station makes her as quick to cordiality as her personality makes her to distrust. The part of her that knows what they want grows smaller and smaller until she’s pretty convinced she’s experiencing a real collegial connection. No matter how fast the illusion shatters, it always comes back again. Which is why, these days, with a solid number of real connections available to her, Bonnie simply does not engage.
