Thank you

Summary:

"Zero," breathed the detective in a surprised voice, "What in the fuck are you doing here? It's two in the morning!"

Izuku chuckled painfully, "Actually I think it is closer to three."

"Zero," groaned Tsukauchi as he lowered his weapon so that it was pointing at the ground, "Not that I'm not happy to see... Is that blood?"

Sheepishly Izuku nodded.

Tsukauchi assessed him for a moment before ordering, "Come in. I'll get my first aid kit."

Work Text:

...

Izuku slammed hard into the balcony barely able to retain his balance. His head swam from blood loss. He was barely able to stay on his feet and not falling back into the streets.

From this side of the doorway he saw a light turn on. Anxiety filled him. Tsukauchi gave Izuku his address months ago with the promise of help if he ever needed it. Tonight for the first time Izuku took him up on the offer. He needed help and he knew it. It was too much of a risk not to ask for help. The only issue being who to go to. There were few who would treat a quirkless person like him much less a vigilante.

The door flung open and a bedraggled Tsukauchi stepped out. His sidearm was raised in one hand and a flashlight in the other. The hand holding the flashlight supported the one holding the gun. It shone directly onto Izuku's injured form and revealed the growing puddle of blood under him.

Then he turned around and went inside leaving Izuku to shuffle after him. The apartment was nice and warm. The muted colors gave off an inviting atmosphere. He entered the kitchen and living room. Both were furnished nicely and he took a seat on one of the kitchen chairs. It would allow him to escape back out from the balcony if Tsukauchi tried anything.

Less than a minute later Tsukauchi returned with a first aid kit. Izuku had been in the middle of removing his jacket when a light touch startled him. It was Tsukauchi kneeling next to him eyeing the wound critically.

He opened the first aid kit and pulled out scissors and disinfectant. After a nod from Izuku he cut away the bottom part of his shirt so he could clearly see the wound. Then he began to clean the wound with gentle hands.

As he cleaned the wound Tsukauchi asked, "What happened this time?"

Izuku winced as he replied, "Pushed Eraser out of the way. Could not get away from it in time."

"A knife?"

Izuku nodded. Tsukauchi hummed but said nothing else. Once the wound was cleaned Tsukauchi pulled out a stitching kit. He looked at Izuku a question in his eyes. Slowly the vigilante nodded.

The stitching took a while and he gritted his teeth in pain. Tsukauchi however did everything in silence. Once his side was stitched up the man then put antibiotic cream on it.

"Thank you," he said.

Tsukauchi smiled gently as he stood his knees popping and said, "It's fine. Do you have a place to stay tonight?"

Here he hesitated. He knew that Tsukauchi's quirk would go off if he said yes. Then he looked down not willing to lie to the man.

Tsukauchi sighed, "Didn't think so. Alright come on."

"What?"

Tsukauchi explained as he moved into the kitchen, "I'm getting you something to eat and you can sleep in my second room."

Izuku shook his head and edged back towards the balcony, "You don't have to do that, Detective."

Tsukauchi insisted, "Nonsense. You look like you could use something to eat and it's supposed to get cold tonight. Now come on. It's not much but it'll be warm."

Izuku stared at the man's back as he went to the fridge. Uncertainly he followed Tsukauchi.
