    "C-Can we be done?" Dekiru manages to rasp through the blood in his mouth.  The rubble behind him scraps roughly against the bare skin of his back, his jumpsuit has long since been eaten away by glancing, hungry, fingertips. "Please."

    The hand around his throat, palm pressed firmly against his jugular and pinky raised out of long-standing habit, tightens for a split second.

    And then ...

    And then it falls away.

    "Yeah," Shigaraki tells him, hands falling down to his sides and red eyes softening, that manic, ravenous thing that so often haunts them finally fading just a bit. "Yeah, I think we're done."

    “Oh,” Izuku can’t stop the achy sort of sigh that escapes him any more than he can stop the reflexive well of tears that follows it. “All Might.”

    All around him the reporters start to whisper even as their cameras flash, questions bubbling up from the crowd as microphones are shoved even closer to him than before.

    But Izuku barely even notices.

    “I-I’m sorry everyone,” Izuku manages to force himself to say, attention still firmly towards the east even as the stutter he’d finally mostly mastered years ago makes a rare reappearance. “I … I have to go.”

    All Izuku wanted was to become a hero...

    But when his quirk - Rogue - finally manifested, all anybody said was that he was going to go villain. A desperate late-night search into underground heroics with few results left Izuku feeling crushed.

    Months later, the bullying is worse than ever and Izuku's been arrested for a crime he didn't commit. Thankfully, Tsukauchi Naomasa is there to vouch that his words are the truth. The underground hero on site didn't believe Izuku even after it was confirmed that Izuku was innocent.

    Now his parents are dead, and Izuku has been rescued by Aizawa Shouta. He's thrilled to be living with Present Mic and Eraserhead but what happens when the person who killed his parents shows up again? Izuku was never destined to be a hero.
