Work Text:

"She was supposed to come and pick us up." A girl said as she rolled her eyes and folded her arms. "Just stay here with your sister, Eloise." A man said as he picked up a chart full of new patients that had just checked into the ER where he worked as a doctor. "I’m sorry, but your mom is very busy tonight, and so am I, so I must get going." Her father said. "Don’t wander off, I don’t want you to get snatched up by a stranger." He waved at her and left. Eloise slumped down in a chair in his office and pulled out her phone. "I’m bored, Elly," her sister said. "Leave me alone, Rosie." Eloise said as she shooed her away with her hand, paying no attention to the fact that her little sister snuck out of the room.
A couple minutes later, she looked up from her phone and frantically looked around the room for her sister. "Where did she go?!" She quickly got up from the chair and peeked out the door; there was no sign of her sister anywhere. "Dad's going to kill me!" She walked out of the room. The hospital was dimly lit, and some of the lights were flickering. Eloise let out a sigh and walked off to find her "annoying" sister. "Eugh, this floor is dirtier than I realized," Eloise exclaimed as she walked down a long corridor. "Where is she!!" Panic started to set in as walking turned into speed-walking. She turned right into a weird-looking hallway. There were no patients in the rooms, and the only person there was a strange-looking man. She sped-walked past him nervously and turned her head to avoid making eye contact with him. He stared at her as she opened the doors to a new hallway.
"I wouldn’t go in there if I were you..." He said morbidly. She stopped for a second "Did you happen to see a girl that looks similar to me running around here?" Eloise asked. "I wouldn’t know..." He shrugged, cocking an eyebrow suspiciously. "Right..." She shivered as she went through the doors. They slammed behind her, "Jesus!" She jumped at how loud it was. "I was so stupid to look away’ I’m a terrible sister!" Eloise thought to herself. The hallways started getting longer and longer and even more displeasing. She began running through the halls and opening the doors to go to the next. "ROSIE!! WHERE ARE YOU?! " She was out of breath and had to stop. She fell to the floor and began sobbing. "I really messed up this time, didn’t I?" she said to herself.
The same man she had seen earlier was now standing directly in front of her. She gasped in fear as she got up quickly and started running away from him. He began chasing her throughout the hallways. "GET AWAY FROM ME!!" She screamed out. "Didn’t your father tell you not to wander around, Eloise!!" He yelled as he almost caught up to her. She accidentally tripped over her untied shoe and fell to the ground face-first. When she looked up, she saw...
"Elly, why are you crying...?" It was her sister... The man was standing behind Rosie. "Get away from her!" For some reason, Eloise couldn’t get up. No matter how hard she tried, she just fell back down. "Don’t you remember, Elly..." The man spoke up. "I took your sister and killed her, and it’s all your fault for simply letting her wander off alone." He grinned maniacally. "You selfish girl, your father should be very disappointed in you..." He said as he pulled out a gun. "Stop this, I’m sorry!!" Eloise said, still trying to save her sister. "Give it up, Eloise." The man held the gun to Rosie’s head and put his finger on the trigger. "Wake up, Eloise..." Her sister said. "Three…Two…One…" And as the man hit one, he pulled the trigger. "NO!!" Eloise screamed out.
"ELLY!!" Somebody was shaking her. "Wake up!!" She opened her eyes. It was her father. "Eloise, are you okay!?" He worryingly said. "She's dead, dad!" She sobbed out. "I killed her by being selfish!" She then realized she was in her bedroom, at home...? "Eloise, it's alright," he said as he hugged her. "It’s not your fault, Elly..."
