Work Text:
“Baby— stay with me,” Megumi whined as he walked hand in hand with you down the hall to meet Yuji for the mission the two of you are going on.
“And I want to be with you too, but I have to go. I’ll be back soon,” you expressed, trying to reassure him that you’ll be back very quickly.
“Can’t you just skip this,” Megumi pleaded while quickly tugging you towards the direction of his room, “wouldn’t you rather just cuddle and watch movies in my room all night? I could even summon our dogs. Please, I’m sure Itadori can handle this by himself.”
“Gumi, as much as I would love to stay with you, I have to go. It’s Gojo-sensei’s orders as well.”
You released his warm hand, turning around to walk towards the pink-haired boy standing near the end of the hallway. You didn’t even notice the heartbroken look on Megumi’s face when you let go of him. His previously warm hand became cold from the lack of touch from his love.
Yuji stood in awe as he overheard you and Megumi. “Are you serious?! This is definitely a higher grade curse, and I’ll probably need some back up after what Gojo-sensei said. Like c’mon now, you can’t just say ‘Good luck! You’re gonna want some backup!’ and then just stick up your thumb with a big grin.”
A laugh escaped from your lips as you saw Yuji ranting about an earlier encounter between him and Gojo about this current mission that Yuji informed you that you’d help him with.
“No. Absolutely not. Just ask Kugisaki, leave my [name] alone. They’re not getting hurt because of you.” Megumi deadpanned as strode towards you once more and took your hand in his soft, larger hands, and pulled you closer to him so that your back was against his chest. With one hand holding your hand, his unoccupied left arm wrapped around your waist. He rested his head on your shoulder giving you light, feathery kisses on your neck. Staring daggers straight into Yuji’s eyes.
“Megumi, are you feeling well?” you genuinely questioned because he never displays this type of PDA when others are around. He usually leaves it behind closed doors, where he can savor every moment with you and value the privacy that belongs to the both of you. However, in this sweet, yet unexpected moment, he was acting unusual.
“Hmm, what do you mean, my love?” Megumi whispered into your neck as he continued pecking along the soft skin of your throat.
“Should I leave?” A panicked Yuji (yet still impressed Megumi could get a partner) interfered before “anything” could possibly escalate.
“Yuji, it’s fine,” You removed Megumi’s hands off of you, turning to face him, “Gumi, I’ll be back.”
You and Yuji began to walk off while Megumi watched in shock because you left him. Behind you, you heard him mumble some words to himself. Wondering if he was still talking to you, you turned back around and saw him moping around the halls, heading back into his room. You felt your heart drop when you saw him disappointed. As much as you wanted to cuddle with him and his dogs embracing in each other’s arms while talking about the most random shit, you still had to complete a mission.

After the rigorous mission, you came back to your dorm looking like a hot mess. Your hair was a mess, and definitely not like how you left. Your uniform was littered with the curse’s blood that you had just fought with Yuji. Now that you were thinking about it, Gojo was not lying when he said ‘Good luck.’ You’re honestly surprised that you’re still here.
You looked closer into the mirror to find a few bruises littered around your arms and legs. You felt a stronger sense of pain when you touched your stomach, and when you lifted your uniform top up, you could see a big bruise forming on your lower stomach. And boy did it hurt like a bitch.
“Shit, I need to shower.” You mumbled to yourself, desperately wanting to get rid of the dirt and nastiness of the mission.
You grabbed some clothes and your towel and trudged to the showers in the dorm complex.

“Baby, I’m back.” You delivered a swift knock onto Megumi’s door, with a pillow and blanket under your right arm.
In a few seconds, Megumi opened the door, peering down at you with slightly tired eyes. His eyes grew once he saw the scattered bruises on your arms, pulling you into the room quickly, and hugging you tightly, making you wince because of the pressure on the stomach bruise.
“I told Yuji to ask Kugisaki, and now look at what happened to you, my love.” He grabbed your pillow and blanket, throwing it backwards to the bed. His eyes scavenged around your body, trying to find any more bruises or cuts.
“Are you okay? Are you hurting anywhere else? Do you need ice? Do you need any food? Do you want anything?” Megumi rambled on, desiring to know what you needed the most. He wanted the best for you, and you could see it in his worry filled eyes.
Not wanting him to keep rambling on, you told him that you were fine, and that it’s nothing to stress over.
“Well, if that’s so, then let’s cuddle, baby.” He dragged you to the bed, where the both of you flopped down, making the bed bounce causing the blankets and pillows to slightly spring into the air. As you straddled him, you bent down, giving him light kisses around his face. You kissed his forehead, nose, chin, cheeks, and his soft lips. He rolled you both over where he was on top, both of his hands to the side of your head, as he looked down at you. He moved in closer to kiss your lips, and then your neck.
He dropped his body down, where his face was in your neck, and his hands wrapped around your torso. You slightly winced when he pressed up on the developing bruise, causing him to worry. He slowly lifted your shirt up just enough to see the bruise that was causing you the most pain.
He saw the pain in your eyes, and immediately got up and walked out the door.
“Gumi, where are you going?”
And in a few minutes, he brought back what looked like an ice pack, and of course some snacks. You felt as if your heart was engulfed in so much warmth. You always knew that he was so caring of you, and each action was still so surprising and heart warming to you.
He catered to your needs and pressed the ice pack onto your stomach, while massaging it lightly to not hurt it.
“You need to be more careful, love. Please, it worries me to see you like this. I should have taken this mission, it’s my fault.” His soft eyes locked with yours. God, you just wanted to kiss and hug him so badly.
“Megumi. It’s okay, and don’t ever blame yourself…come here,” You moved the ice pack away from your stomach, and motioned for Megumi to lay in your arms.
And soon, you both got comfortable in each other’s arms, talking about things that happened that day, and progressively talking about how much you both love each other so much. You listened intently to everything he had to say, while you played with his hair and tracing shapes on his back. Without realizing it, he had already summoned his dogs, or as he likes to say ‘our dogs,’ allowing them to lay on the bed with the both of you who were love sick for each other.
