But this age was not fated to last.

A harbinger of darkness appeared

"What a horrible sight.." Valley Lily Cookie softly said, fear laced in her tone.

"Everything's covered in Cookie crumbs!" Yellow Cheeseberry exclaimed.

"This foul, sticky cream.. The stench of burnt butter hanging in the air.." Vanilla Bean Cookie spoke roughly.

"What on Earthbread is even happening here!?" Myrtleberry shouted.

"...she, has declared war on the Sweet Cacao Kingdom." The king, bearing the same name explained shortly. The sound of snow howled outside the destroyed castle, making their surroundings hard to see.

"You mean that Cookie who brought that Cake Monster army into our lands?" Vanilla Bean asked. Sweet Cacao quietly nodded, as the howls of the snow grew rougher and louder.

"Correct. She attacked while I was occupied with my son." He said, remembering how he had to send his only child out through the emergency exit of the Castle, despite the armor and blistering snow weather that came every crescent, he hoped his child escaped unharmed.

"Ones flour must be hard for such a brazen strike." Yellow Cheeseberry said, flapping her wings.

"We must find her as soon as possible. make haste, Cookies!" Sweet Cacao shouted, leading the others to the final battle.

"And so, we finally meet. You're too late, Cookies!" She laughed.

Sweet Cacao swore he spoke her name, but his body stumbled for a second, and he landed on one knee. "You..! What is the meaning of this!?" he shouted.

"Do you know the reason why we, the Cookies, were even created?" She chuckled.

"What? What is this nonsense you're spouting!?" Myrtleberry exclaimed at her.

"Tsk, tsk... You've never given it a thought, haven't you?" She laughed again.

"Of course, we have!" Yellow Cheeseberry said, bluntly.

"To live and be happy all together! That's why we were brought into this world!" She finished.

She scoffed. "Happy! And when do you feel the happiest? When you fall down and crumble, or when you become soggy?"

"We are together, in peace and in battle. This is our strength!" Vanilla Bean shouted.

"That's right. We live and thank our creators for our sweet bodies, and unique talents." Sweet Cacao spoke.

"And there wasn't a hardship we couldn't overcome, TOGETHER." He added.

She scoffed again. "Foolish!"

"I will show you the error of your ways, here and now!" She laughed.

She summoned a Cake Witch, bigger than herself, shooting magic at the five, then channeling energy to attack once again.

"The Cake Witch is channeling energy! We must use this pause to avoid her next attack!" Sweet Cacao shouted. The other four nodded.

Sweet Cacao casted his healing spell, as when the Cake Witch attacked they took little damage.

"We can win this battle..!" Valley Lily said.

As they all attacked, cutting half of the Cake Witch's HP down. It recoiled from all the pain.

"GAH! HOW DARE YOU..!?" She shouted.

"You cannot stop me! NEVER!" She then added.

The Cake witch prepared a strong attack, and just before it striked..

"DARK ENCHANTRESS COOKIE, NO!--"

The Cake Witch attacked the Cookies, leaving them all on the verge of possibly crumbling. She took their Soul Jams, chuckling quietly to herself.

"Mhe he he..." She quietly laughed, as it spiraled into loud laughter. "Marvelous."

"Your Soul Jam is mine!" She said, staring at the glistening gems once on the Cookies.

"Such power.. I have waited oh so long for this moment to come. It is time I share my vision with this entire world." She told the kneeling ancients.

in the wake of the massive explosion,

The five Ancients vanished.

Yet, she remained.

The Cookies, having lost their greatest heroes,

Struggled to hold back the hordes of the Darkness.

The vast civilization of Cookies began to crumble.

As time passed, whispers of a new hero began to rise.

An 'ordinary' Cookie opened his eyes to the knowing of his popularity.

GingerBrave, the 'hero'.

.........

Has turned rotten.

"Are you SURE you want to do this?" Wizard asked the Cookie. He was aiding GingerBrave in possibly stopping the witches, almost like what Dark Enchantress Cookie did..

"I'm positive.. We HAVE to stop them!" The male said, annoyed. He and Wizard looked tired, as they barely got any sleep this night. The only reason Wizard was there to prevent GingerBrave from possibly going insane. His hair was becoming a grey colour and grown out, his bangs covering one eye. GingerBraves frosting hair was getting messy, albeit it just being not much.

"Ginger, this is a bad idea. You could fall into the ultimate dough, become something like her, or--" He was quickly cut off by GingerBrave going to the big pot full of liquid. "--Hey!! Get over h--"

GingerBrave was suddenly knocked into the ultimate dough, Wizard staring in shock, before screaming his name.

"GINGERBRAVE!"

Somewhere else on Earthbread...

The Dark witch herself was curled up on the ground, groaning in annoyance as she got up.

She looked around, an angry look plastered on her face. She was in a garden of Valley Lilies. She gripped her staff tightly.

there was sudden memories coming back to the 'evil' woman. Most of them being when she was Valley Lily Cookie, and hanging out with her friends as Valley Lily. She almost felt tears run down her face, but she prevented it. The other memories were repeating that night. The night she learned the truth.

"No. this is the path I chose!" she growled, trying to push back the good memories, before eventually succumbing to them.

..........

She was soon subconsciously wrapping bandages around her staff, arms, and even over one of her eyes and horns.

The witch gripped her staff tighter than before. Maybe those memories brought peace upon her soul? Who knows?

She quietly walked through the meadow, not saying a word. She still somewhat resented the Valley Lilies, but slowly warmed up to them again, picking one of them from the garden and placed it on her staff before continuing to walk.

The thing that truly changed her, though?

seeing the Cookies laugh and play joyfully, was truly someting to convince her that she should stop terrorizing the Cookies of Earthbread?

Maybe..
