   Summary

   set in s4, you are the target instead of max, Steve and you/reader had been dating at the beginning of all of the upside down events but after the russians he decided in order to protect you he breaks it off with you but you end up being thrown into the s4 events due to eddie whom you were close with as well only to find out that you are being targeted by Vecna. Steve got stuck with the group you were in and witnessed Vecna trying to get to you. At the final attack steve begged to Vecna to take your place, not even sure it would even work but somehow Vecna heard his plea and took him instead and he goes after him instead.
