Chapter Text

Logan slumped down the floor, head in his hands. His palms pressed against his eyes until he saw colours. Colours. Orange. All he could see was orange. Everything felt orange, tangy like blood. Or maybe that was from his hard bitten lip. He couldn’t tell. Even his veins felt orange, infecting every part of his imaginary body. He tasted citrus with every breath, so strong it made his gag but so distant he thought he was hardly breathing at all.

His hands gripped at his collar and his dark brown hair, pulling at them so hard anyone would think he was trying to pull the colour out of his very being. Tears threatened to pour down his face but met little resistance, and were soon decorating the mans button up shirt. He clutched his tear-stained glasses and threw them at the wall, listening to them clutter to the floor, unharmed despite their ordeal. Logan shot up off the floor and began to destroy the room around him. Astronomy posters ripped in half as they got pulled off walls and books had their pages pulled out in a hesperidium rage. Agonizing screams ripped out his throat as he began to bang his head about every piece of furniture he could find. It was almost like he couldn’t control his body anymore. It all hurt but he didn’t know where or why, but it did.

“Stupid, stupid, stupid!” He screamed once again crumpling to the floor next to his bed, grabbing a book to bang against his head. He couldn’t even see his room anymore, just a blurred mixture of dark blue and tangerine swirls through the singing tears. His foot was throbbing from where he had pulled his entire bookshelf on top of it but he barely even noticed it. He just sat on the floor and screamed in emotional agony.

Janus was walking through the mindscapes corridor, leaving Patton’s room. He had been there to discuss a dilemma Thomas was having, as usual. Thomas was a lot happier now that Nico was around. Almost blinded by it in his opinion, but he had to agree with Patton for once that this was good for Thomas. Way too many existential crises lately. He tapped his cane along the wall as he walked, humming along to no song in particular.

As he passed Logan’s room he heard an ear scraping scream which made him almost shed out of his snake skin. The other sides rushed out of their rooms to see what was going on, Roman was holding his defensively at nothing in particular, matching the others at looking around. Not even bothering to knock, he wiggled the door handle and ran inside the logical sides room. Ripped books were strewn around the entire room. The keyboard was ripped out of the PC and was crushed at Janus’ feet, the circuit board crushed in half. All mirrors (plus his computer) had been smashed, seemingly punched as there was a tiny amount of blood on each one. An entire bookshelf was laying horizontal on the floor, a tiny speech of blood was spotted on a dent in the frame. A man was balled up on the floor in the corner by his bed, grabbing at his hair with one hand and bashing his head with the other, in tears. Some clumps of hair were on the floor along with a blood speckled book.

“Hey, hey, hey. Let’s totally do that, ok?” Janus hid his panic and slowly sprinted to Logan’s side. He grabbed one of Logan’s hands to stop him from hitting himself. His other hand refused to let go but lessened the grip on his hair, which was good enough.

“Hey, Logan. Are you ok? What happened?” Janus asked softly.

Logan sputtered incoherently and only bawled harder, screaming quietly in frustration. He pulled at his hair so hard that some strands were pulled from his scalp. Janus had no idea how to deal with this situation. Thomas’s verbal dilemmas were nothing compared to this. He had to restrain Logan from hurting himself but it’s not like he could just hold Logan down. He already looked like a villain, he wouldn’t look much better if he held Logan down while he most likely struggled. Either way, Janus still cared for Logan. Not extremely but they had been partly housemates for around 30 years and they were all important to each other (except Remus but you know, it’s Remus).Even if 2 sides were arguing they would still do anything to save each other. Janus would just have to suck up his ego and help him.

“It’s ok, Logan…shh it’s ok.” Janus shuffled to the side of Logan and hugged him, pulling his hand away from the other sides hair while he was still in shock. Logan leaned towards Janus and cried into his shoulder, muttering about nonsense through blubbering tears. Janus mourned the loss of his clean cloak but he could deal with that later. Janus pulled him closer and whispered comforting words to him.

“It’s okay.. you’ll be okay…”

The other sides watched, open mouthed. They couldn’t decide what was more shocking, the logical side bawling his eyes out, or the deceitful side hugging him. They were very concerned for Logan and Patton moved forward to join the hug before being silently shooed away by Janus.

“I think he needs some space.” Janus mouthed.

The light sides looked at each other and decided to leave and check in later. Roman and Virgil complained about leaving the ‘evil’ side with Logan only to be glared at by Patton. He wasn’t too happy either but he knew Janus had it handled. He also represented self-care after all.

“Now Logan, what didn't happened to cause all this?”

Logan’s sobbing had subsided a bit but tears were still trickling down his face.

“No one.. fuc-...fucking listens to me….”

“Hmm?” Janus urged him to continue.

“Remus…he-.. I don’t know what happened.”

Janus flinched slightly when Logan mentioned Remus. Despite his… ‘expressive’... personality, Remus was capable of a lot more than what he shows. Certainly shows that if he managed to make the damn logical side curled up in a ball of tears on the floor. That took an exponential amount of effort and went way too far, even for Remus.

“What did he do, Logan? What happened?”

(I had to rush post this bc break was ending. I wrote this on a school computer lmao)
