Work Text:
Tallie Lintra is energetic and people always tell her she’s confident for her age but she thinks that’s because she can’t deal with silence - she immediately starts worrying people disapprove of her so asking what they’re thinking and sharing her thoughts eases her anxiety of that.
Her brain is always running fast and usually on flying tactics. Her colleagues in the Resistance academy are great: loyal and passionate but not everybody has the strategic vision to be able to lead. She’s already made it to leader of her junior battalion and has talked enough with everybody that she now anticipates their worries before they voice it themselves. Well, everybody except the quiet, pretty bomber pilot.
She asked a few people what her deal was, but nobody knew much apart from she had a sister and they’d come recently from a mining planet. She found herself looking at her a little too much during downtime, trying to make eye contact but it was a rare and fleeting occurrence.
She couldn’t explain why but she had an urge to know her better.

Paige Tico has been called quietly confident by people - but she thinks that’s because she doesn’t boast about how much she knows and just gets on with the job.
She’s a good team player. Not that she wouldn’t be a good leader, she’d be great to be honest, but she won’t naturally step up unless she sees that people are being really incompetent.
She’s not at all impressed by the noisy fighter pilot trainees - especially their lead blondie, and why does she keep looking this way ? Is her group’s adoration not enough, does she need validation from literally everybody ? Paige can’t help rolling her eyes when she spots her glances yet again and in the corner of her eye sees blondie break out into a grin.
It was a pretty good smile that reminded her of starlight: beautiful but blinding if you looked at it for too long. Not that Paige would admit that even if a hundred bombs were heading her way.
