Shivering so hard his teeth clattered, you watched as Eddie brought his faintly blue-hued, ring-clad fingers up towards his lips and exhaled slowly onto them.
Why he had thought he’d be fine in just his leather jacket today, you didn’t know. The boy had eyes, he could well damn see the meter of snow outside his trailer, yet that evidently couldn’t stop him from tarnishing his image by trading it with something fluffy and warm.
“You’re gonna turn into a popsicle before we reach school.”
“Oh, shut up,” he grumbled, squinting his eyes at you.
“Oh no principal Coleman, that’s not a snowman, that’s my boyfriend!”
“What do you want me to say, huh?” Eddie whirled around to stare you down, snow crunching underneath his shoes, “I should have worn something different! There, you happy now?”
Rolling your eyes, you sighed, watching the cloud of warm air puff out your lips, “give me your hands,” offering him your own.
After a moment, he begrudgingly placed them in yours, his frown quickly melting away as a soft amber glow emitted from your palms. Eyes growing wide, he nearly took a step back, “what are you-“
“Will you just stand still?” your grip tightened slightly as you wrapped up the incantation, then added underneath your breath, “you big ol dumb dumb…”
Whatever snippy words that had been on the tip of his chilly tongue now completely forgotten, he simply looked down at you in pure awe, not protesting in the slightest as you unwrapped your colourful scarf from around your own neck and got up on your tippy toes to drape it around his.
