Dear love, will we ever meet?
Did you get lost on your way to me?
Will we see each other in this lifetime?
Or do I have to live never knowing you?

“Are you sure I look fine, Sehun?” Junmyeon asks as he turns around one more time for Sehun to take in what he is wearing.
Junmyeon was wearing a pink dress shirt, black pants, and his favorite watch on his left wrist. Both his hands are adorned with jewelry, a few rings, and a bracelet, and he is wearing the necklace that Sehun gifted him a couple of years back. He had his bangs swept up so that his forehead was shown.
“If I didn’t know where you were going, I’d have said you were trying to seduce someone with your looks. You look stunning, Junmyeon.”
“Sehun, I’m asking a serious question. Does the shirt look okay? Is pink alright?”
“You look good in any color, but I have to say, pink is your color. Don’t be nervous now. You got this. I’m sure they will all be swept away with your charms anyways.”
Junmyeon went over to where Sehun was sitting and gave him a peck on the cheeks.
“Thanks, Sehun. I’ll see you later then?”
“I’ll be here when you get back. Good luck!”
Junmyeon gave Sehun one last look before getting out of the house.

Junmyeon arrived at the café a few minutes ahead of schedule; he wants to give a good impression. But deep inside, he was pretty nervous. He didn’t really like meeting with so many people, and being in front of a camera was certainly not his thing. However, this was part of the work as an author, and he knew what he was getting into the moment he signed with a publishing company.
Junmyeon sees the interviewer and waves. The person waves back and gestures for Junmyeon to go over to him.
“Good day, Mr. Kim. I’m Jongdae from Azalea. Thank you for making time on the weekend for this interview.” Jongdae says with a smile while offering his hand.
Junmyeon shakes his hand. “The pleasure is all mine, Jongdae. You can call me Junmyeon, I don’t mind.”
“Then, Junmyeon, shall we start? Don’t worry; it will be an informal interview. I’ll have to ask for your consent to have it recorded, though. And then we’ll just take a few photos later. Would that be fine with you?”
“That sounds lovely, thank you.”
“I heard you’re actually an introvert?”
“Well, my MBTI will tell you otherwise,” Junmyeon replies, giving a light laugh.
“May I ask what it is?”
“I’m actually an ENFJ. I do like spending time alone, especially when I’m writing.”
“Oh, may I ask about your writing process? Where do you get your ideas?”
“Some of them just come to me when I’m taking a shower, when I’m washing the dishes or when I’m cleaning the house. You know, whenever I am doing random tasks. I get surprised by myself then too.”
“How about inspiration? Are your works from real-life events? Are they things that have happened to you?”
“Hmmm, I heard a good writer would never kiss and tell. But if I’m being honest, it’s a combination of truth and fiction. I like writing about things that have happened to me, but I also like giving it a twist.”
“Your last book, ‘Dear Love’, is such a huge hit. It tells the story of how a person’s love or at least the different stages of it. How would you describe the book in your own words?”
“Dear Love is something I wrote from the point of view of a person who does not believe in love, actually. If I were to describe the book, it would be a journey of a person trying to figure out if love really exists or if it’s just a sham.”
“Does it contain some of your personal experiences with it?”
“Yes, it’s a book that is very close to my heart and my life.”
“I’m actually a huge fan of your work, Junmyeon, and I have read the book myself.”
“Thank you, Jongdae. It really makes me happy whenever someone reads my work. I’m glad you like my work.”
“There was a line from that book that I felt like most readers could relate to. I’ll read it, and then maybe you can tell us something about it?”
“Sure, go ahead.”
“You were once my everything until you were nothing. I didn’t believe that love existed in the first place, but I started thinking it was real when I met you. It turned out I was a fool for even having a glimmer of hope, or maybe, all this time; love just isn’t for me.”
Junmyeon stayed silent for a moment, remembering the incident with his professor back then.
“Junmyeon, I especially liked that last part, ‘love just isn’t’ for me’. I think most of your readers would be able to relate to that. What can you say about it?”
“First of all, that specific part of the book is very close to my heart. For a long time, I thought to myself that love didn’t really exist. But then one day, someone came, and I thought, ‘hey, maybe love does exist. I just didn’t see it.’ However, they ended up hurting me in the end. That’s when I realized that it’s not that love does not exist; it’s just that it is not for me. Second, I think people who have been hurt by love before feeling this way. I’m not surprised that a lot of people were able to relate to it, but I do wish more people had found love by now. Or at least, is happy being on their own.”
“Thank you for that insight, Junmyeon. I’m so sorry you were hurt by someone so deeply.”
“It’s okay. I wouldn’t be able to make this best-seller without them, after all.” Junmyeon says jokingly.
“If there is one thing you can change in your life, what would it be and why?”
“This might sound really cliché, but I would not change anything at all.”
“Really? Nothing? May I ask why?”
“I’m happy living with my partner at the moment.”
Jongdae gasped, shocked at the sudden news.
“Oh my, did we just get an exclusive update about you? Are we allowed to publish this?”
“Of course you are. It’s not a secret, after all. People just don’t ask.”
“I guess most people assume you’re not in a relationship since you mostly write sad things.”
“That’s right, but the truth is when I write about sad things, they are all about the past.”
Jongdae looks at his watch. “It looks like that’s all the time we have for today. We still have to take some shots of you. Would you mind doing a pose where it looks like you’re writing a letter? Or you can really write a letter, and we can share it with our audience if you want. It can be to anyone at all.”
Junmyeon nods. “That sounds good; how much time do we have for me to write that letter?”
Jongdae hands Junmyeon a piece of paper. Junmyeon takes out the pen that Sehun gave him and starts writing.

Sehun was taking lunch when his secretary came in.
“Sir, I have the thing you ordered. It was just delivered.”
“You can put it there, Kyungsoo. Thank you.”
Sehun immediately opens the package and excitedly tears the plastic so he can dive right into it.
A few moments later, he was calling his boyfriend while wiping his tears away.
“Hey, Sehun. What’s up?”
“Junmyeon….”
“Is something wrong? What’s with your voice? Did you cry?” Junmyeon asks, worried about Sehun.
“No, it’s just the magazine that interviewed you just came. I saw your letter. Have I told you I love you?”
Junmyeon chuckles at the other end of the line.
“Only a thousand times, but I don’t mind hearing it a thousand more.”
“I love you, Junmyeon. Thank you for coming into my life.”
“I love you too, Sehun. Thank you for showing me what love is. Also, you should come home early.”
“Yeah? Why?”
“Your favorite meal is available,” Junmyeon whispers over the phone.
“Favorite meal----I’ll be home in a few minutes.”
Sehun calls for his secretary, and Kyungsoo immediately comes in.
“Kyungsoo, cancel my schedule for the rest of the day. I’m going home.”

Dear love,
I used to think we would never meet, that you had lost your way to me. I was fooled by so many people pretending they would show me what love is, only to end up being hurt by them. For a long time, I thought I would never be able to see you and that I would have to live my entire life never knowing you.
But one day, you finally arrived.
I was reluctant at first because my trust had been broken far too many times. However, you showed me that it was okay to bare myself and that you would be there to catch me if I fell. And you told me and proved to me that I was worthy of you.
Love, you came to me in the form of someone with broad shoulders for me to lean on whenever I feel sad. You came to me and held my hand through all the challenges that came into my life. You told me over and over again that your feelings for me would never waver until, finally, I believed in you again.
Thank you for loving every single side of me and for accepting my past with your arms wide open.
You were worth all the wait and all the heartbreaks.
Yours,
Junmyeon
