They’re lying down on Dream’s bed and staring at the ceiling for no apparent reason. Well, the reason George is lying on Dream’s bed is that he doesn’t have a frame for his own. However, they are staring at the ceiling because the silence is comfortable enough to allow them to. Dream turns his head and stares at George, who has his eyes closed. He watches as his chest rises and falls with each soft breath he takes. Dream could watch him sleep for those seven hours and never get tired. You could say he was enamored with George. And being enamored causes one to talk without thinking.
“I like you, George.” Dream whispers. Accidentally. But not really. He just didn’t think about the consequences of his actions. His face immediately flushes red. George’s eyes flicker open and he focuses on Dream’s without turning his head.
“You like me?” George asks. His tone isn’t surprised and his eyes aren’t telling.
No going back now. “Yeah. A lot.” Dream responds, swallowing roughly as he tried to catch the breath this British guy had knocked out of his lungs.
Now George’s full attention was on Dream. He turned his body to face him and rested his chin on the palm of his hand. “How?”
“How? How do I like you?” Dream squints, he’s a little confused.
George’s interest seems to peak. “Yeah- in what way?”
“In every way.” Dream answers in an even lower tone, their casual (but not really casual) conversation restoring a bit of confidence in him.
George raises an eyebrow, with a smirk dancing on his lower lip. "Mmmh... That's a little vague Dream."
"Vague." The blond repeats.
"Yeah." The brunet said with a nod.
Dream purses his lips together. "Hmm. I like you …" He rolls his eyes back in thought, trying to find the right phrase, "in a dnf way."
"Pfft. Really?" George asks, blinking unbelievably.
Dream just responds with a small nod. His lips are pressed into a tight smile.
"Seriously?" He squints.
"Yeah. Why not?" Dream furrows his eyebrows but still smiles.
George's cheeks become rosier and he turns away quickly. "You're trolling."
"Why would I be trolling?" Dream leans over to look at George who is facing away from him now. His weight creates a dent in the mattress.
"'Cause you've been spending so much time with Skeppy." The brunette shoots back.
"Skeppy." The blond said in disbelief.
George's lips quiver as he is trying to hold back his laughter. "Yeah."
Dream doesn't respond. Instead, he returns to his initial position facing away from George. George who has started to breathe heavily, his palms getting damp with sweat, bit back a smirk. "Okay. I approve!"
"You.. approve?" Dream is confused again.
"I approve." He repeats.
Dream is really confused. "What- are- you're supposed to be able to disapprove?" He stutters.
Now George leans over and hovers over the younger. "Yeah actually," he stares directly into the other's olive eyes. "I could disapprove of you, being in love with me."
Dream scoffs "Technically you can't-"
George interrupts him. "Whatever, I don't disapprove."
Clearly, Dream really wants to say what he wants to say. "Fine but technically, technically-"
But George doesn't let him. "I approve now shut up"
He doesn't shut up though. "Technically you can't 'disapprove' 'cause I'm gonna be in love with you anyway."
Hearing Dream admit he's in love with him really does things to George's heart. "Huuhh wow, we get it, you're in love with me." George attempts to say sarcastically, but he looks like he's about to explode into rainbows.
"I am. What do you think about that?" Dream enquires, trying to figure out if George reciprocates his feelings or not.
"I don't think anything, I just approve." George replies blatantly.
Dream's smile falters a bit. "So you're not in love with me."
"All I said was that I approve." George shrugged and dropped back down to the bed.
"You're being vague." Dream pouts.
"Vague." George says, in reference to an earlier sentence in this sea of conversation. He slides his arms up and down the bed, making a snow angel. Mattress angel. He turns to face Dream, who is currently staring at him endearingly. He stops and turns his entire body to face the blond because he liked the warmth that radiated from him.
Dream makes eye contact with the brunette and holds it for as long as possible. If he could, he would stare at him all day. And that's what he does, to be fair. His eyes flutter down to his lips for half a second.
"Hey. Don't get any ideas." George said, but his eyes say something entirely different.
Dream scoffs and rolls his eyes. He leans in and places a peck on George's nose. George scrunches his face in pretend disgust. Dream knows it's pretend because the brunette's face turns an even deeper shade of red.
"Eww zero out of ten." George said.
His face is just mere inches away from his. "Did you just… rate my kiss?"
George can feel Dream's hot breath against his mouth. "Yeah." He exhales.
"Okay I'll do it better." And so he does. George's nose is tingling now.
"Dream!" He shouts in protest.
He leans in again. This time, he plants a kiss on the flushed skin of George's left cheek.
"Dream stop. You're gonna make me f-"
Dream adjusts his leg to George's side so he is directly hovering over the smaller man. "Fall in love with you?"
George shoves his chest to push him off. “No. You don't deserve my love and care.” George teased.
“Mm fine then.” Dream spoke softly, turning away to stare at the wall and sulk. They lie in silence for a few minutes, the air feels heavy and the brunet finds breathing slightly more difficult.
"Dream." George called out.
"Yeah?" Dream responds.
"Dream." The bed dips a little, probably from unbalanced weight distribution.
"What."
George pokes lightly at the other male's shoulder. "You're ignoring me."
"You're- you weren't even talking." Dream muttered, refusing to turn as George tugged on his sleeve.
"Neither are you." George said in retaliation.
Dream shuts his eyes and smiles. "Well, I don't have anything to say."
"Come on." George was getting rather impatient, a little part of him wished he had given a real answer from the start. "You always have something to say."
"Well I don't," Dream starts, turning to face George, "because you rejected me." He said, voice low.
George scoffs. "I didn't reject you."
"I confessed my love to you, and you said 'i approve'." Dream sneered.
George's gaze softens and he sits up next to dream, positioning his hand on his dirty blonde mess of hair he often calls a bird's nest. "Because I'm okay with you being in love with me."
Dream's eyes widen and his lips part, trying to find the right words. "So you are in love with me?"
He picks at one of Dream's curls, breaking eye contact. "I'm not gonna say it."
"Fine." Dream had heard that a lot. He knows George doesn't have to say it verbally to prove he loves him, but he decides to mess with the brunette anyway. "Then you're not in love with me."
"Fine. I'll prove it then."
"How?"
He kisses his nose. George kissed him, not the other way round.
His cheeks tint pale pink as he stutters to find words. "That.. doesn't prove anything."
George laces his fingers through Dream's hair and gently combs through it, the younger leans into the touch. George isn't one for physical contact so when he does indulge in it, it feels intimate to Dream. He has only ever been intimate with Dream. How is Dream just noticing that?
"Whatever you say, Dream." George exhaled. Dream locks eyes with him again and he can feel his heart starting to pick up its pace. George's lips tilt into a smile, but it's the most loving smile Dream has ever seen. His eyebrows are raised as he looks down at Dream through thick, soft lashes. George looks completely enamored.
"You're very pretty George." Dream blurted out.
George lets out a breath he was holding. His fingers pushed in and out of dream's curls even more. His hair was a bird's nest because George was a lovebird playing in it. "Say more things."
"You are… Hmm. You are smart. And talented." Dream giggles as George rests his chin on his palms and waves his feet in the air, like a whipped teenage girl. "You. Are… very funny."
"You could say hilarious." George states smugly.
"You could." Dream said with a shit-eating grin. "George, you're perfect. I feel like we..are…meant to be. You make me feel all weirdly warm inside, seeing you smile? That's like. Heaven on earth, George."
"I resonate with that."
Dream bites his inner cheek. "I also want to kiss you. So it would be cool if. Y'know."
"Wow, you're rizzing me up." George rolled his eyes.
"Yeah! I have the ultimate rizz. Alpha rizz. I'm the rizzler."
"Oh God." George buried his face in his palm.
"Dream, and the three rizzketeers." He continued.
"Stop."
Dream ignored George's pleas. "You're a rizzard, Harry!"
George has had enough. "If I kiss you will you shut up?!"
"Maybe," Dream says with a shrug, "you'll have to find out." He points at his blush lips.
George scoffs, but immediately pushes him off of his lap and into his arms. He lowers his eyelids as he closes the distance with the blond, who now had an arm around the other's waist. Dream cups the smaller male's cheek and moves in impossibly closer, with their noses touching. George stares at him through droopy eyelids. He looks like he is about to say something, but never gets to it because Dream's pillowy lips meet his.
They feel soft and gentle. He doesn't press into him as well, going ever so slowly and steadily. George has a feeling of euphoria wash over him as he senses Dream smile into the kiss. He lets his eyes fall shut. Then he kisses back, not as gently as Dream does it, but it's not his fault he's so giddy. All George wants is him, it's all he can think about. He tightens his grip around Dream's frame and softly scrapes Dream's back with low nails. He feels Dream exhale on the tip of his nose and glides his tongue over the younger's lower lip.
Dream grins into the kiss again and carefully pushes George onto the bed so he's directly over him. Dream pulls away from the kiss, but before George can complain, he plants a kiss on his left cheek. And then his right.
And then his forehead, because he wants him. And then his temples because he cares for him. The bridge of his nose, because he admires him. And both of his eyelids, because he's perfect for him. And each kiss means so much to Dream, because George means everything to him.
George, however, is bursting with affable giggles. "Dream, stop!" The blond pecks his lips. "Stop- kissing me!" George struggles to push him off, to no avail. He lets out an exasperated groan. "Fine. I don't care."
Dream raises his eyebrows in amusement and clambers off George, taking both hands in his. "See? I told you I love you." Dream circles the back of George's hand with his thumb.
"You're an idiot, the biggest idiot ever." George comments, although he says it with the brightest smile Dream had ever seen.
"The biggest?" Dream
"Yes, actually." George nods. "Pull me up."
Dream taps his chin lightly, "Hmm. No." George furrows his eyebrows and kicks Dream's back with his heel. "Hey! What the fuck?"
"Lift. Now." George commanded.
"So annoying." Dream mutters, and scoops up George into his arms.
"I'm hungry." George whines.
"Hungry for these nuts?" Dream forces a laugh out for his own terrible joke.
George completely ignored this and continues to demand, "Go make me a sandwich, wife."
"But it's too early." Dream pointed out, ignoring the fact that George called him a wife. His wife.
"Do I care?" George asked.
"No."
"Good, now, carry me in your arms downstairs." Dream does as he is told, and lifts George 'bridal style'. It's a struggle to get off the bed with a grown man in his arms but he does it anyway.
"What if dropped you?" Dream snickered.
"You wouldn't dare."
