Mike gets telepathic powers randomly, three years after Vecna’s defeat. He tunes into people’s thoughts, expecting every guy’s mind to be like his. When he finds surprisingly few gay thoughts about best friends, he’s forced to re-evaluate and see if maybe it’s just him? (it is.)
It doesn’t help that the one mind he wants to read the most seems to be set to a different frequency entirely.

Now that he's older, Mike wants to get a tattoo on his side and Will offers to design it. While drawing it on his waist, the closeness pushes them over the edge and they finally indulge in each other like they'd always dreamed of.

Willow hadn't meant for Michelle to find her in such a compromised state. Fuck, Michelle wasn't even supposed to be home yet, it's far too early in the afternoon, if the sunlight creeping through the cracked window near the ceiling is anything to go by, far too fucking early for Michelle to be standing behind her with a smug grin plastered to her face.

Will decided he’d rather slip away into himself and observe everyone else rather than verbally participate. Which is what he’d been doing, successfully, he might add, for several weeks now. He’d still give just enough in group settings so no one would notice his lack of contribution to the conversation. And when he thought about it, he preferred it this way. He didn’t need eyes on him all the time, and he didn't need to be the center of attention. He’d rather watch and listen to his friends than overpower them with his thoughts or feelings.
Spying made it sound like it was wrong. But, if he changed it to observing… that was something everyone did.
Will began observing everyone.
