Zuko and Sokka have known each other for all their lives, their mothers were friends before Sokka’s mother died and Zuko’s mother went missing from his life. But that didn’t stop them from still being friends and forever will stay friends, the best of friends. Until something started to bloom inside Zuko's heart that he couldn’t understand what it was because he haven’t ever felt this feeling before so he just ignored them for now.

They both were chilling inside Zuko’s bedroom as he finishes his homework and Sokka watches television.
“I sometimes forget how much money your family has compared to mine,” Sokka said still focused on the television.
Zuko chuckled as he finishes his homework and then got up.
“I can’t help it my family’s rich” Zuko sits beside Sokka.
“I can tell very much so” Sokka laughed turning his attention away from the television to Zuko.
Zuko felt his face heat up hearing Sokka’s laugh he ignored it and thought the room was just hot.
“Are you finally done with your homework Z?” Sokka said as he turned off the television.
“Yeah” He then heard a knock on the door “Come in”
It was Azula, Zuko’s little sister
“I'm going to hang out with Ty-Lee, Zu-zu,” She said leaning up against the door frame
“Is it a date?” Zuko said wiggling his eyebrows as so did Sokka
Azula just flushed slightly. “Of course, I'm dating her obviously,” Azula said with a smile
Azula then said, “Are you guys on a date?” She smirked as she saw her brother’s face heat up.
Zuko coughed as he fans his face then he looks at Sokka whose face turned a shade of red also.
Sokka then wrapped a strong arm around Zuko’s shoulders before speaking “You know Zuko and me are just best buds, nothing else” Which made Zuko’s heart ache slightly.
“Now Azula don’t you have a date with Ty-Lee to go to?” Sokka said changing the subject.
“True, now I'm off. Have fun on your date lovebirds!!” Azula said before running away when Zuko started to chase her which left Sokka by himself thinking about what Azula said.

Zuko had longer legs then so he caught up to Azula quickly. Zuko held Azula by the shoulders.
“I-I don't like him Azula!!” He said with a blush on his face
“Now Zu-Zu don’t lie to your little sister now,” Azula said chuckling
“Azula I'm not lying!!” Zuko tried to convince his sister
“Zu-Zu, I can hear your heartbeat from here,” She said as she puts a hand on his chest where his heart is located
“Is this what feeling I've been feeling?” He said couldn’t figure out if that question was for himself or Azula.
“Yes Zu-Zu, It is. I feel the same way about Lee.” She said with a smile “How long since you've been feeling this?” She asked.
“About a year? Maybe? I don't really remember when these feelings started to appear” He said trying to think when did his feelings appear.
“Are you going to ask him out?” Azula said.
“Azula, I can't, I don’t want to ruin our friendship” Azula just sighed.
“He definitely likes you back Zu-Zu,” She said with a small smile which reinsured him
“Yeah I don’t think so,” he said starting to walk back into his bedroom where he left Sokka
“Just remember Zu-Zu if you wait too long he will fall for someone else!!” She said in this whisper yell
Zuko just started to walk back letting her words sink in
she’s right, what if he finds someone better? And starts to fall for them. Date them. And then- then. Before realizing it he was crunched down on the floor on his feet as he starts to hyperventilate as he grips his hair hard as he pulls. He felt tears stream down his face. He’s attractive, he can pull whoever he wants, someone who’s way more attractive that doesn’t have a burn scar, someone who doesn’t have mommy or daddy issues.
Now he's sobbing as he starts to have a panic attack, so many insecurities swirling through his head at once which was too much. He didn’t notice two hands touch his face so gently but he still flinched
“Oh Z… Is why you were talking long?” Sokka said so calmly that Zuko looked up seeing two beautiful blue ocean eyes stare at him with a small smile.
Sokka slowly took Zuko's hands out of his hair so he would stop hurting himself.
“Oh Z you know how bad hair pulling is..” Sokka says as he pulls his hands toward himself.
“May I hug you?” Sokka asked calmly that Zuko couldn’t even say no if he really wanted but he couldn't get any words out so he just nodded.
Sokka hugged him close to his chest as he rubs a hand in a swirl motion on Zuko's back. Sokka says calming stuff in Zuko’s good ear (his right not left).
“It's okay Z, it is me Sokka” ‘Follow my breathing Please Z..” “I’ve got you don’t worry”
Once Sokka was able to get Zuko to stand up he helped him get into his bedroom so Sokka can help Zuko in the bedroom and not in the hallway.
Sokka rocks Zuko in his arms as he hums this tune from a song he knows Zuko loves while giving Zuko all of his care and love.

Zuko has calmed down enough that he isn’t hyperventilating or sobbing anymore but still has shaky hands.
“All good yeah?” Sokka says with a smile.
Zuko nodded as he wipes his puffy teary eyes.
“Wanna tell me what caused your panic attack?” He says as he grabs Zuko's face in his palms to have him face him.
Zuko shook his face no “you’ll hate me…” He whispered his voice horsed from the sobbing.
“I won’t force you to tell me but I can never hate you Z,” Sokka smiled which made Zuko’s face heat up.
“I-I'll tell you for another day,” Zuko says as Sokka doesn’t push him further.
“Do you maybe want to sleep?’ Ask Sokka and Zuko nods.

The next day Zuko woke up and sat up to stretch before he was pulled back into someone- wait someone? When Zuko looked slightly back he saw Sokka just sleeping soundly asleep not realizing he was holding onto Zuko. Zuko flushes different shades of red. The last thing he remembers is going to bed on opposite sides of the bed and somehow in the middle of the night starting to cuddle. The thought made him blush more. Fuck I'm so in love with this man it hurts.
After a little while of Zuko staying in Sokka’s arms for while just enjoying it, he felt the other shift and tightens his grip which made Zuko have trouble breathing so he started tapping Sokka's arms.
“Sokka I’m having trouble breathing,” Zuko says trying to wake Sokka up.
“Hm... “ Sokka stirs starting to wake up “What's up…?”
“Can you lose your grip I can barely breathe,” Zuko said
“But you’re comfy…” Sokka puts his face on Zuko’s neck which made Zuko stiffen and blush.
Sokka chuckled letting go and ruffled Zuko’s hair.
“May I ask something?” Sokka asked.
“You don't need to ask to ask a question Sokka” Zuko laughed.
“Can I kiss you?” Sokka says putting his hand on Zuko's chin to have him face him
Zuko started to blush hardcore and wasn’t able to say any words.
Sokka smiled “You don’t have to say yes just because I asked, I won’t force you”
Zuko then panicked he wanted to kiss Sokka but he didn’t know how to put it into words so quickly thinking he pulled Sokka into a kiss it was inexperienced but it felt amazing for the both of them. Sokka put his arms on Zuko's waist and Zuko’s arms went around Sokka’s shoulders.
After some time they broke the kiss but put their forehead and noses together
“I’ve been wanting to do that for so long, “ Sokka said while smiling at Zuko
“Me too” They both laugh.
“Azula will never leave us alone once we tell her,” Zuko said.
“Of course but still” Sokka laughed. “It doesn’t matter” Sokka also said
“For you, It won't, she will be pestering me about it none stop and to make it worse. IM LIVING WITH HER!!!” Sokka started to laugh hard
