When someone is born they are born a person gets assigned a soulmate but there is only a small number of selected few who are not given a soulmate luckily Sokka isn’t one of them and once he gets older to realize how lucky he is he has blessed the sprits mentally. But when You’re born you get this pattern of what your soulmate's picture (icon?) they are. Sokka’s is a boomerang and that should be easy to find if it isn’t in a clothed spot, Sokka’s hoping that his soulmate is in an obvious space. Sokka’s soulmate’s icon is a type of scar that he doesn’t get. Who has a scar as their icon? Sokka doesn’t get but he wasn’t the one to judge so he ignored it waiting for him and his soulmate to cross paths.
When Sokka was young and his mother was still alive Sokka would ask everything about what soulmates were. His mother could never decline her son so she would tell him everything she knew and even show what her icon was for his father. It was a wolf and Sokka loved it he wished he would get a wolf (Didn’t own boomerang yet) he would also run to his father asking what his icon mark was for his mother who would just chuckle and show him was water with a line through it even though he never got what it meant neither did either. But when Sokka explains how do you know it's them as your soulmate is when your mark glows not enough to blind someone but enough to know it's there. Sokka was so proud and he showed it off whenever he got the chance and from where it’s located on the left side of his neck.
Once Katara was born she had an arrow on the back of her hand on the right, an arrow facing her fingers then once she was at the age of soulmates she would ask their mother and sometimes dad because she liked to ask mom more but still ask dad to not hurt his feeling. But he never felt bad for that, he would encourage it because she somehow knows more about soulmates than even her. But happiness doesn’t last forever because 2 years later she got killed by fire benders. After all, she said she was the last water bender from the southern water tribe to save katara and now realizes what her icon meant water bending will cause her to end but Sokka or Hakoda never blamed Katara for it but doesn’t mean Katara didn’t.
Once mom died his father found out that his mark was disappearing because his soulmate have died and changed to what seemed to be a boat on the water. Water again which reminded Sokka of his mother's icon but he tried to forget about it. Soon not long after Hokada got a new icon Bato who never got a soulmate at birth got an icon. It was a wolf-like his father which meant they were new soulmates from the spirits but it took a couple of years for them to finally to get together because his father took a while to finally get over his mother enough to try to date and even marry and Sokka was proud of his father.
Not after Hokada and Bato got together, did Katara meet his soulmate but Sokka would hope it left a less being of light in the sky but whatever her soulmate’s name is Aang and he was the last Airbender that's where the arrow comes along and it was located on his forehead but his soulmate’s mark was water which definitely meant Katara was his soulmate if the glow didn’t exist. It was located on his left-hand opposite of Katara’s. Yet definitely soulmates, he was mentally prying to every spirit would end up like his mother and father, one of them dead and the other getting a new soulmate.
But now Sokka was missing his soulmate but he has no room to think about that now because fire nation was on the way and so he had to fight to save everyone. To save his sister which he promised his mother to do now that he is the only person who can protect her because she was gone, his father was off at war so it was up to him and only him. When he was getting ready to fight seeing the firebender in front of him in a stance that only meant he was getting ready to bend. Once He used boomerang to knock off the stranger's helmet (but he thinks he remembers his name was Zuko) but when he knocked off the helmet his soulmate’s mark glows and he froze which he also saw Zuko also froze and that was the only chance he was able to get to see his soulmate icon mark. It was a boomerang on the right side of his neck and thinking of boomerang it came back hitting the back of his soulmate’s head but he doesn’t want him to be his soulmate, he refuses.
Aang whom he just found out is the avatar, Katara’s soulmate sacrificed himself to save the tribe and his soulmate. If only he could have a nice soulmate that doesn’t try to destroy his tribe. So to save Katara’s soulmate so she doesn’t end up like mom and dad, because again he promised the both of them so he would do anything. Even fight his soulmate. Once he and Zuko make eye contact again he’s hurt because his soulmate hesitates to fight him, but he tried to hurt his sister he mustn’t hesitate because this was his sister on the line. His soulmate almost, almost, dies if only he didn’t hang onto the raised anchor but while he was struggling to hang onto it his soulmate icon starts flickering which meant your soulmate is on the verge of dying and it hurt, really hurt.

He was on the flying bison his name Appa flying to the Southern Air Temple where Aang was born and raised before somehow ending up in an iceberg in the Southern Water tribe but Aang didn’t tell us yet so he wouldn’t force him to spill anything but once they got there it was cold and empty even though Aang believes they’re still alive kicking just hiding because he says only air benders that have to have flying bison. Not until they were playing some air bender game even though Sokka has a disadvantage because he's not an air bender or even a bender at all, did both he and Katara find a fire nation battle helmet, and before Aang was able to come near to check out what they called him Katara water bent some snow to cover it which also meant covering Sokka with it.
Once Sokka tries to get some wild animal he forgets the name of and Aang saves it before he was able to eat it but getting it he found his air bender master killed in bones with fire nation battle armor everywhere which made him go into the avatar state and cause the wind to go everywhere. Sokka told Katara to comfort him because if she doesn’t they would get thrown off the mountain and because she was the soulmate that would cause him to listen to her more.
So once Aang calmed down Katara told him that Sokka and her were his family now and how they both they knew what it felt like to have someone they loved to die because of their mother dying from also from the fire nation which somehow calmed Aang down. Aang wishes he was here so he would be able to save the air benders but Katara said if he did he wouldn’t have to meet Sokka and her which made him feel better about leaving. But again soon they had to leave before something happens to this place taking the wild creature (he’s too hungry to remember the type of animal) they named momo with them and Aang said that they are the only things left of that place but he still was right about that but with work maybe somehow the air benders will come back. Just maybe somehow maybe in another life or two but Sokka just knows.

on their way to Kyoshi island to ride some fish even though they should be on their way to the Northern Water tribe to have both of his sister and her Avatar of a soulmate. When they landed they got ambushed by some Kyoshi warriors who threatened to feed us to some killer fish Aang almost died too but because luckily Aang was the avatar used that so they let us go but being there for just a day or two Zuko found them and started a fire onto this poor town just because there their. Luckily having small training sessions was able to at least have a fighting chance. So with the fans, he was given he threw it at his soulmate square in the face causing him to roll onto the ground and Sokka ran to Zuko. Zuko put his hands up and he got pointed a fan at but before he can even try to do anything Sokka rushed down by him.
“I accept you as my soulmate, but you have to redeem worthy,” Sokka said before getting up and running towards his team. But as he was running Zuko was somehow blushing but then standing up in shock because his soulmate except him which made his heart thumbs different than usual.
“You did WHAT!!??” katara screamed when they were in the air once Sokka told her what he told Zuko and thankfully to Aang she didn’t try to actually throw him off Appa in 200ft in the air. “Hey, if the spirits think Zuko’s well more than me then I won’t Argue with them” At first he did but then he let it sink in so he expected it not fully as he would still decline Zuko but enough for him to not to disagree with it every 5 seconds he thinks of Zuko, His soulmate.

The group then went to amashu to try to find his best friend Bumi and instead they found some crazy king that he figured out that doesn’t have a soulmate and he wonders why. Maybe it's because he's crazy? Who knows. That question was for another lifetime. But the king saw straight through Aang and started testing him and if he didn’t go quickly Katara and Sokka were going to drown in some funny crystal’s that smelled somehow like sugar but he was too focused on trying to find a plan to save his sister because he promised to save her and to not let her die but sadly he never found a way to do something so he had to wait until Aang defeats the tasks and hopefully soon.
Once the last task comes he has to fight King Bumi and oh was he strong a lot of the sounds and bangs made him get lopsided and fall and one of the guards had to help lift him up again and he realized he was slowly but surely breaking the crystal but he wasn’t able to break it in time before Aang won and they figured out the crystal were made out of some candy crystal. So that's why it smelled like sugar.
Soon Aang found out who he was he was his good friend Bumi somehow still kicking even though it has been 100 years since they have last met each other but Aang was happy that he found his best friend so he didn’t try to bug them but soon once a day they explained that they need to go or that jerkbender Zuko, his soulmate was probably going to attack this place too if they stay here too long so they were going to go but not before they hugged thanking him then finally leaving. Man, he was starting to like that crazy king. He hopes he sees him again soon. If the war doesn’t catch up to his town first but he's prying to all the spirits that he stays alive for Aangs sake because 99% of his friends are dead from 1 they got too old or 2 they died from the fire nation.

Once they finally make it to the Northern Water tribe he finds an amazing Princess whose name slips off his tongue, Yue, She didn’t have a soulmate but Sokka wished she was his soulmate, she deserved a soulmate. She’s so amazing in everything and being there for Aang and Katara he got real close to her but his heart broke when she told him that she was forced to marry even though she doesn’t have a soulmate but that still doesn’t matter but they still were together no matter their social classes and their fates, but he still wished he had more time with her to feel her lips more but sadly again happiness doesn’t last forever from what he experienced with his mother.
A General who he was too mad to get the name of killed the moon spirit and this old guy (he thinks he remembers Zuko calling him uncle one time) Zuko’s uncle fought the General for killing the moon spirit causing a unbalance. Then Zuko took the avatar he really hated the fire nation. But because Yue was dead at birth the moon allowed her to live with some of its magic so he had to become the moon spirit, that's why she didn’t have a soulmate. The only reason she was born was to become the moon spirit, that was her destiny and before she left she kissed him, leaving with the feeling on his lips and his love for her. Soon they got Aang back and he fought off the whole Fire nation army with the end of yin. He really misses Yue.
