Kazuichi fiddled with the towel wrapped around his waist, oh God was this even a good idea?
Just a week ago, Kazuichi had taken the decision to be put on a blind date with a classmate of his and during the moment he was excited for the date. However, Now, he was totally panicking!
It’s not like he didn’t want to go on the date, he was estatic about that part, it was the fact that he didn’t know who it would be that was eating at him.
It could be Mahiru, who he honestly wouldn’t mind going on a date with but she was more like his non-biological sister than anything.
It could be Teruteru, which would probably be a traumatizing experience but he did get along with the chef.
Maybe even Mikan, she’s cute! A date with her would be interesting, and dating her would probably be even cooler!
Or what if it was Sonia? Kazuichi did have a crush on her after all, a date with Sonia would be absolutely amazing!
Kazuichi pulled out his phone, he still had to finish getting dressed since his date was supposed to start soon but he wanted some answers first. He decided to text Ibuki since she was the one who set him up on this in the first place. He didn’t know why he even accepted the offer, he hadn’t gone on a date in who knows how long and the idea was overall interesting, but now it was just nerve wrecking. He clicked open his messages, scrolling down a bit until he reached Ibukis contact, he quickly sent a message and awaited her response.
Kazuichi: Hey Ibuki! Getting ready 4 my date currently :)
after a few seconds, he saw Ibukis text bubble pop up, indicating she was typing.
Ibuki: YAY!!! U R going 2 luv it! xx
Kazuichi: yeah, still wondering who it is lol :P
Ibukis text bubble popped up, but then disappeared before popping up again. Kazuichi sighed in disappointment.
Ibuki: U will C when U get there!! They are alr heading towards the area so hurry up!!!!!!
Kazuichi immediately put his phone down and hopped over to his drawers, pulling out a pair of boxers and slipping them on before going through his clothes, he didn’t live far from the supposed meet up place, a small Boba Tea spot that Kazuichi had recommended to Ibuki so if he hurried he’d probably arrive first.
He looked through his clothes for something presentable and decided to go with a white collared undershirt and a yellow sweater, as well as light blue flared jeans and white shoes. Once he was dressed, he made his way to his bathroom and began to apply his contacts and eyeliner, making sure his makeup wasn’t smudged or uneven. He wanted to look perfect for this, no doubt about it. Once that task was complete, he braided a lock of his hair, securing it with a green rubber band and hid the top of his head with a light green beanie.
He quickly put on his earrings and a few more accessories before looking at himself in the mirror. He was never happy with what he saw but he decided not to stare too hard and just hurry up and get there before his date did. He grabbed his necessities and stuffed them in a tote bag, slinging it across his arm and racing to his front door, exiting his lonely apartment.

It was a perfect day, clear skies, it wasn’t too hot nor too cold, and overall it was perfect weather for a date. Kazuichi felt a bit of pride remembering that unlike probably most people, he was the one going to a date. And he was going to make sure it was absolutely perfect!
He grinned to himself as he saw the small boba shop slowly approach, he looked around for some kind of indication that one of his classmates were here.
Maybe Sonia was sitting outside the shop, on her phone and waiting for the persons arrival.
Maybe Fuyuhiko was standing near the entrance, secretly hoping his date would just so happen to be one of his best buds.
Maybe Hiyoko was conversing with someone, trying to pass time.
But, as he approached further, he didn’t see any indication that one of his classmates were there. Kazuichi checked his phone and realized he was 10 minutes early, no problem, he’d just go inside and wait there first.
The atmosphere inside of the tea spot was the main reason why it was so popular. It was overall calm and peaceful. Pink colored wallpaper with white stripes and polished wooden tables, and adorable white tiled floors engraved with blue hearts. It may have been a bit girly, but Kazuichi secretly loved it.
He assumed that’s why he didn’t choose to go in a splash of neon colors, after all, he wanted to match the atmosphere and hoped his date would as well.
He made his way to the cashier, who was a buff woman with long white hair. She smiled kindly at Kazuichi and politely waved, she was dressed in a cute pink dress with a white apron which was really adorable. “Good afternoon sir, I am Sakura Ogami, how may I help you?” she asked in a calm tone. Kazuichi waved back, “Heya! Uhm someone named Mioda should’ve scheduled something..” he responded , a bit flustered at how clueless he may seem. Sakura nodded and motioned for another girl to come over, a girl with short black hair and lilac-greyish eyes. Her face was covered in freckles which made her seem a bit childish despite the fact her gaze was very intimidating.
“Hello. I am Mukuro Ikusaba, I will direct you to your seat. You are Kazuichi, correct?” She asked in a menacing tone. Kazuichi sweat dropped and nodded, following her to a small round table that was tucked away in the corner. Once situated, Mukuro stated another waitress would come back to get his order soon once his date arrived and he thanked her before she left towards the counter. He took his phone out again, 7 more minutes until his date was supposed to arrive. He waited patiently, playing on his phone to pass time.

Gundham locked his car, the familiar beeping startling him a little. Why the hell did he agree to this again?
Ibuki had randomly went up to him, asking if he’d like to go on a rendezvous with someone random. He hadn’t really been paying attention, so he simply nodded and told her to do whatever she’d like, and then this morning he received a text asking if he was ready for his date.
He looked up at the place and the first thing he noticed is that he was going to look like a bull in a a china shop. The girly and cute tea spot was very contrasting to the fact he was wearing a black t shirt covered in skulls as well as baggy dark blue jeans. He had his regular everyday makeup, but he didn’t gel his hair up like he usually chose to do, instead, he let part of his hair frame his face, while the others were sticking out everywhere. Since he woke up pretty late, he didn’t have time to do it and was now arriving to a date with bed head. Great. Though he still had his purple scarf, his devas were tucked away in them, offering their encouragement and comfort.
He didn’t even have an idea who his date was or looked like, he just knew it was someone from his class. He was hoping it was probably Sonia, his best friend and someone he could easily talk too, but apparently she was put on a blind date with Chiaki so there was no way.
He was about five minutes early, if his date was even a minute late he planned on leaving and never showing his face again. Grumbling, he stuffed his keys in his pocket and entered the shop walking up to the counter.
“Good Afternoon, I am Sakura Ogami, how may I help you?” the lady at the counter asked, giving him a kind and professional smile. Gundham smiled back, hoping it wasn’t too awkward. “A mortal by the name of Ibuki Mioda had scheduled a rendezvous for me here.” he stated, hoping he wouldn’t have to clarify what he meant. Sakura put her hands together and smiled even more, “Ah is that so? It appears your date is already here then. How lovely!” She gestured for a waitress with long blue hair to come over and direct Gundham to where his date was.
“Hi there! I’m Sayaka Maizono! It’s a pleasure to meet you! Please, follow me!” She gave a smile and Gundham could feel his face heat up in bashfulness from how kind she was being. He hesitantly followed her and upon approaching the table, he could see a lone boy with pink hair playing on his phone.
Wait, a boy with pink hair?
There’s only one boy with pink hair in his class.
And he didn’t really get along with him.
Gundham stopped just behind the waitress, hiding his frown underneath his scarf. Was this some kind of joke? Did Ibuki do this just to make fun of them? Call them immature for always fighting?
“Excuse me sir! Your date is here!” Sayaka called in a sing-songy tune. Kazuichi finally looked up with a smile which immediately dropped when he realized who it was.
Sayaka looked between the two men before a mischievous smile found its way onto her face.
“I’ll leave you two alone, another waitress will take your order soon~” and with that, she walked away.
The two said nothing, just staring at each other. Gundham not really shocked but definitely surprised, and Kazuichi absolutely out of it.
“Y-You’re the one Ibuki..” he asked, not finishing his sentence. Gundham sighed and sat down, ignoring how comfortable the seats were. “Yes. I’m the one she chose for this date.” he finished, crossing his arms.
“Oh..I see..” Kazuichi trailed off, taking off his tote bag and settling it into the floor. “Uhm, well then, let’s try and have a good date?” He smiled awkwardly, internally panicking. Why the HELL would Ibuki do this to him! This is so awkward! Gundham nodded in agreement to his words, “Yes, we shouldn’t waste the music devils money by arguing the whole time.” He concluded.
They fell into awkward silence, neither one of them wanting to speak up. Kazuichi eventually decided to start the conversation, knowing that Gundham was extremely anti-social.
“So..what’s up?” he asked, smiling at the boy. Gundham looked up in thought for a moment, before glancing back at Kazuichi. “Nothing much..and you?” he shot the question right back at the pinkette, Kazuichi chuckled awkwardly and scratched behind his head, “Ah well, nothing here either! Uhm, but I do have a project i’m working on..if you’d like to hear?” he offered, giving Gundham a chance for them not suffer in awkward silence. Gundham nodded in approval and Kazuichi instantly became excited, “Alright so! Basically i’m trying to build a game console! How cool is that?” he smiled proudly. Gundham raised a non existent eyebrow in curiosity, placing a hand on the table. “A device for entertainment? For what purpose?” he asked.
“Well, Chiaki actually asked me if i’m able to build that typa stuff, and of course I am! But ya know, i’m gonna need help from that programmer in the 78th class” Kazuichi gestured his hand so it looked as if he was fanning the air down below. “Have ya spoken to any of those kids?”
Gundham nodded his head, “Yes, me and the ebony witch have exchanged words on a few occasions, as well as the Hall Monitor.”
“Oh Kiyotaka? Man he can get on my nerves!” Kazuichi rolled his eyes for dramatic effect, making Gundham chuckle for a bit. “Yes, his strictness can upset me as well, but he is doing a good thing for our school. You wouldn’t want to mess with the fighter would you?” Gundham asked, referring to Juzo, The Former Ultimate Boxer. “Oh God you’re right, he’s even worse.” Kazuichi gave a thumbs down before settling his hands in his lap.
“But anyways, i’m gonna make it way better than those other game companies, and Iruma is gonna help me with building it! It’ll be the perfect gift for Chiaki!” Kazuichi spoke, eyes sparkling as he did. Gundham nodded along to whatever he was saying, not totally understanding but not wishing to be rude.
“So..any new breeder stuff?” Kazuichi asked once he was finished speaking. Gundham pondered for a moment, before simply smirking and giving Kazuichi a cocky stare, “I see, so you’re curious about me?” He asked, sounding bold in his assumption. Kazuichi sweat dropped and gave a confused smile, “Uh, Yeah? Isn’t that what we’re supposed to do on date-” “Very well!” Gundham interrupted, prompting Kazuichi to furrow his brows in annoyance.
“I shall allow you to question me mortal. Hm, I guess I can inform you how i’ve assisted two hell hounds through their mating season.” Gundham smiled proudly, closing an eye for dramatic effect. “This was no easy task, as I was subjected to the wrath of the hell hounds and nearly lost my arm!” Gundham clenched his fists, his once proud smile turning into a frown.
“Is that why your arm is all bandaged up?” Kazuichi asked, pointing to his left arm. “This assumption is correct, this arm is cursed! And anyone who touches it will be met with thousands of plagues.” Gundham responded, sounding completely serious about the whole thing. Kazuichi only laughed at the whole speech and nodded to show Gundham he understood what he meant. “Wow, I sure hope you don’t curse me then.” He teased, waving his hands in front of his chest. Gundham only chuckled, “Do not worry, I do not harm innocent mortals.”
The awkwardness fell back in again, both boys were quiet though they were in a good mood from their pleasant conversation. It seemed as if they got along more than they assumed. Gundham felt a little guilty having Kazuichi string the conversation along, so he looked around for something he could speak about.
“Ah, so you experience attraction to both sexes?” He asked, Kazuichi raised an eyebrow confused until Gundham gestured towards his tote bag which had a bisexual flag sewed onto it. “Oh yeah dude, i’m bi! I don’t really care for the gender of the person I date, but guys are more my type!” Kazuichi gave a thumbs up, happy he felt comfortable saying his sexuality to others but was confused on why it was Gundham out of all people. Though, he didn’t care, since Gundham didn’t judge him or anything.
“Hm? One would not speculate that with your fascination with the princess.” Gundham responded, raising a finger to show a point. “Hey! Don’t assume!” Kazuichi crossed his arms, puffing out his cheeks in a childish manner. “I like girls too! Just not as much!”
“I see, we are one in the same.”
“Oh? You’re bisexual too?” Kazuichi asked, sparkles appearing in his eyes.
“Ah..no. I solely experience attraction towards males.” Gundham placed both hands atop the table, intertwining them together. Kazuichi nodded and clapped his hands together. “Nice! I was hoping you weren’t straight or anything, or this whole date would be awkward.”
Ah that’s right, this was a date. That seemed to slip Gundhams mind a few times. “The same too you as well.” He spoke, right as a waitress approached them.
This waitress was way to young to be working, but she did match the whole atmosphere of the place. It was a young girl with long pink hair tied into pigtails. She smiled up at the two and held a notepad and pen. “Hiii! I’m Kotoko Utsugi! The cutest gal ever!!” she squealed, giving them a peace sign. The boys waved at the excited girl and began to look through a menu. The boba spot sold food along with teas, so they decided to order one of each.
“I’ll get the onigiri with strawberry milk tea please!” Kazuichi grinned, closing the menu and sliding it towards Kotoko who took it happily. She wrote down the order and nodded, “Okay! And you sir?” he turned towards Gundham, who seemed a bit nervous looking at the menu. “Ah uhm..do you have vegan dairy replacements for the milk?” he asked, forgetting that he was a vegan who was going into a whole milk tea spot. Luckily for him, Kotoko nodded. “Yeah! We have almond milk too!” she gave a thumbs up, making Gundham smile at the adorable gesture. “Very well then, i’ll take Taro, almond milk please. And to satisfy my hunger, I’ll simply take avocado toast.”
Kotoko wrote down Gundhams order and took the menu. “Okay! Onigiri, Avacado toast, Strawberry milk tea and vegan Taro milk tea! gotcha!” She gave the two a firm salute. “Oh and are you two dating? You’re totally adorbs!” she squealed, a blush appearing on her face.
Kazuichi choked on air and quickly shook his head, “No No! We’re just..on a date..” he shyly spoke, glancing away towards the windows. “How adorable! Well, bye!” Kotoko skipped away, humming a happy tune.
“..kids am I right?” Kazuichi nervously laughed, making Gundham crack a smile. “Yes, I suppose so.” he finished. Kazuichi glanced over at Gundhams hands, taking note of how veiny they were and the two very beautiful rings on his fingers. He’d be lying if he said it didn’t make him even more attractive.
“So, Gundham, tell me about yourself.” Kazuichi began to mess with a salt shaker, tilting it around. “Pardon?” Gundham was a bit confused, they were classmates, so they already knew eachother right?
“I mean like, we haven’t really gotten along so, let’s get to know each other more!” Kazuichi clarified, giving a smile. “I see. Very well then, I shall inform you of myself.” Gundham felt a bit of warmth, happy that someone was curious to know about him.
“As you may know, I specialize in animal breeding. I love my hell beasts and I take care of many. Though, I am not too interested in domesticated animals..as it feels me with pity to see them.” Gundham sighed, Kazuichi gave a sympathetic smile, he continued “In my free time, I choose to do many things. Such as studying the dark arts and perfect my powers..But most of the time I choose to manage my website. Though, only powerful sorcerers are able to access the full version. Mere mortals such as you will just see the basis.” Gundham finished, awaiting Kazuichis response.
Using his Gundham translating skills, Kazuichi came to the conclusion that Gundham probably has a premium version of his website, where people have to pay to see it. “Heh, what if I hack through it?” he asked, hiding his smug smile behind his hand. Gundhams eyes widened at this and he shook his head, “I’ve already put up many magical barriers and protectors! It’s impossible!” He insisted, shutting down Kazuichis words. “Alright, Alright, I believe ya.” the mechanic let out a laugh.
Kazuichi then began to tell Gundham about himself, explaining his hobbies, his daily life, what he did for a living, basic stuff. The two actually had quite a bit in common for boys who used to argue all the time. They occasionally fell into comfortable silence and just shyly stared at each other, blushes appearing on their faces. This date wasn’t as awkward as they both presumed it would be upon seeing their partners, so they were relieved of that fact.
“You know Tanaka, you’re actually pretty cool!” Kazuichi gave a toothy grin, resting his head in the palm of his hand, his elbow propped up against the table. Gundham only blushed and lifted his scarf to hide it, taken aback by all the compliments Kazuichi gave him during this date. “Many thanks Souda..” he replied. Kazuichi only gave a thumbs up, and not long after their food finally arrived.
This time, a girl with white hair and dark skin was their waitress. She held their food on a tray and gave them a smile which reminded Kazuichi of a cat. “Nyahaha! My name is Angie Yonaga! It is a busy day, so sorry your waitresses keep switching!” Angie placed their food on the table, followed by their drinks. “Enjoy your food! Don’t forget to give grace! And Kotoko was right, you two are very cute Nyahaha!” she winked before skipping away, her long hair flowing behind her. The two boys blushed at each other and looked away, focusing their attention on their food. “Right..let’s eat.” Kazuichi mumbled, beginning to poke at his onigiri with a fork.
And so they did, not conversing much while they were busy stuffing their faces. The food was amazing, definitely not up there with Teruterus cooking but it was very good, reminding Kazuichi of home cooking, and reminding Gundham of when his aunt would cook instead of his mother. Once they finished, the two began to take sips of their drinks, going back to speaking with one another.
Soon, Kazuichi got an idea. He lightly nudged Gundhams foot, before kicking it a little. Gundham gave Kazuichi a look and then kicked his foot back. Here we go.
The two began to have a playful battle of footsies, kicking each other under the table and trying to keep their laughter in. Suddenly, Gundham was able to catch Kazuichis shoes in between his and the two bursted into a quiet laughter, removing their feet from each other and finishing up their boba.
“Say Gundham, are your Devas here too?” Kazuichi asked, curious if Gundham actually decided to bring animals to a date. Gundham nodded and patted his scarf, “Though it is day time, so they are resting.” he replied. Kazuichi nodded and felt a bit sad he couldn’t mess with the hamsters.
Once the two finished up, they noticed that Angie had left the bill on the table, so they each paid for their part of the food before getting up to leave, saying goodbye to the waitresses and Sakura as they left.
Once outside, Kazuichi stretched and turned to face Gundham who was blushing like a madman.
“I truly enjoyed this..” he said, glancing away.
“Me too! Do you wanna uh..continue going out?” Kazuichi asked, placing his hands behind his back.
“A splendid idea Souda! I will accompany you on more dates.” Gundham grinned , happy he’ll be able to go out with his new love interest more.
Kazuichi gave a thumbs up and handed Gundham his phone, the breeder typed his number in and saved the contact. “I should get going now, my hell beasts must be fed in a few.” Gundham waved and began to walk back to his car when he felt a tug on his scarf, stopping him.
The mechanic had his fist clutched onto the purple fabric and pulled him down a little before getting on his tip toes and pressing a kiss to Gundhams cheek.
“Get home safe Gundham.” Kazuichi smiled, pulling back and giving a wave. Gundham blushed madly and nodded frantically, hiding the lower half of his face with the scarf and slowly leaving the area.
Once Gundham had left, Kazuichi took out his phone and opened Ibukis messages, texting her how the date had went and that they planned on going on more together.
And when the two finally had to return to school, let’s just say the whole world was shocked to see them hugging each other in the hallways.
