“This is your fault, Potter.”
Severus batted a cherub away from his face and whirled to put his back against Harry’s, firing a shield charm at the blasted window.
The brat snorted. “You’re welcome, you great bat.”
Spellfire shot through the haze overhead, ripping through the sparkly pink garland over the door as shouts and clamor reached them. Harry tensed behind him.
“You had to pull us in here?”
Severus blew confetti out of his face and ignored his reaction to the muscles pressed up behind him, tried not to think of those muscles naked and straining in passion.
“You would prefer not to have cover?”
Insufferable .
Harry pressed something into his hand. “Wanna bond?”
“What?”
Severus gaped at the ring, mesmerized, until a cutting curse clipped his shoulder. He ducked behind an upturned spindly table.
“You alright?” Harry sounded annoyed, not worried.
“Fine.” He bombarda’d the Death Eater into the Owl Post office, before pulling Harry into a kiss. The world stopped turning. The sound of battle dimmed, and his perception narrowed to the pair of lips under his own.
“Well?”
“Someone has to keep you out of trouble.”
“That sounds like yes.”
“Next time, I plan our date.”
