Work Text:
Logan and Rory had decided to elope once she had found out she was pregnant and he had to break his engagement. Of course Lorelai would be there and some of the life and death brigade.
He wanted to make his last hurrah truly spectacular so decided they would go to Grímsvötn, Iceland.
What was more spectacular and dangerous than getting married on the edge of an active volcano. At first Rory had said no, but then she realised this would be their last real chance to do something like this.
So he organised the private jet and flew them all there. Luke joined them even though he didn’t see the sense in it. And Rory had found the perfect dress in her closet from one of their previous adventures with the life and death brigade.
Logan didn’t even register the ceremony— all he heard was “you may kiss the bride.” And he pulled Rory into his arms.
Feeling the heat and passion spewing from the Volcano heightened the feeling and they ran off as soon as they had gotten married.
Logan paid for her family and their friends to stay in Iceland for a few more days and jetted them off to Hawaii.
When it was time to return back to reality they found voice messages from his father demanding an explanation on why he had broken the engagement without telling him and Emily Gilmore stating simply that she would have liked to have been there. But they would have a reception to honour the occasion once they got back from their honeymoon and had the time to grace her with their presences.
Rory looked scared at that announcement and forced Logan to take her straight to her Grandmother's house and apologise for the slight. They would very much like to have another wedding with Emily, and then the reception she had requested.
Rory and Lorelai were left to design the wedding and reception while Logan flew to London and faced his father to discuss exactly why he had broken the engagement and that he should never have proposed to Odette when he had been in love with Rory for so long.
His father was furious with him that he had let himself get into this situation, but knew he would have no chance of swaying Logan so accepted it and told Logan he was to not tell his mother that the wedding they would be attending wasn’t their first and that they had eloped. It was the only way he would accept what Logan had done.
