Chapter 1: Episode One

Chapter Text

Japan, Modern Day.

It's been a year since the UN revealed the existance of humanoid beings known as liminals to the public. Now, they live in harmony with humans thanks to the "Cultural Exchange Between Species Bill" and the liminals were slowly integrated into human society.

But, this Bill had some flaws, the legal loopholes it had made an opportunity for criminals and intacted various liminal trafficking. And for that, UNIT (United Nations Intelligence Taskforce) formed a brand new division, MON (Monster Ops: Neutralisation), that deals with liminals that exploit said loopholes.

One day, some mysterious meteorites fell in a uniform manner a forest near Asaka, a city located in Saitama Prefecture, leaving a rather big crater, caughting the attention of the Japanese division of UNIT. At the same time and near the crashing site, a British Blue Police Box materialised. From there something similar to a tall man emerged from the box and fell to the ground, unconscious. The UNIT soldiers arrived on the site, and noticed both the meteorites and the fainted male.

"There is someone overthere!" One of the soldiers spoke.

the group of soldier approached the being and said.

"This is the Red Sun Batallion! There is a fainted liminal near the crashing site, we need an ambulance!" one of the soldiers said to the transmitter.

the ambulance arrived, and the civilian was taken to the hospital.

In the offices of MON, a dark-haired woman named Kuroko Smith, head of the Japanese division of MON, received a call.

"Hello?" she said.

"Ms. Smith, Zombina here." the voice of a woman spoke.

"Ah, Zombina, have you investigated about the meteorites?" Smith asked.

"No, but, we have found an unconscious liminal near the site. He was near a Police Box, too." Mastui said.

"A liminal? What is he?"

"I dunno for sure, he looks like a wolfman. Plus, he came out of a British Police Box."

"A...Police box?" Smith's attention was caught by that exact detail. She remember hearing about a man with a Police Box that helped the British division of UNIT many times. "I wonder if it's him...Where is that liminal now?"

"He's fine, he's at the Warui Okami Hospital, he's still unconscious. I'm taking care of him."

"Send a guard for the Police Box and continue guarding. I need to confirm something."

"Roger!"

Smith closed the call and called the operator.

"Hello? I would like to talk with the British division of UNIT."

Meanwhile, the werewolf liminal slowly regained consciousness. The first thing he saw was a red-haired girl, but something was off with her.

First, her skin was as pale as a corpse, her eyes were of two different colours and...is that patches all over her body?

"Hey, you woke up, huh? We thought you were dead." she spoke.

"Wha...What happened?" the liminal was confused.

"I dunno, we found ya unconscious near a blue box in the forest." the girl said. "It's better if ya take a rest, furry boy."

"Furry...boy?" the liminal was very confused. He stood up from the bed and looked to the mirror. What he saw horrified him.

His face was young, like he was in his early 20s. His body was all covered in white fur, especially in arms, his ears were those of a wolf, too.

"They regenerated me...into a wolfman?!" he thought.

"Hey, are ya ok?" the red-head asked.

"Those...BASTARDS!" he yelled, extremely pissed off. "Not only they forced to regenerate, they even wanted to humiliate me!"

"Calm down, will ya-"

"How can I calm down?! THEY TURNED ME INTO A BLOODY FURRY!" the wolfman groaned in pain, some golden light left his body.

"Oi!" the girl was alarmed. "Are ya okay?"

"It's...fine. I was woken up too early, I'm still cooking inside." he said, he seems to have calmed down. "Oh, where are my manner, I'm the Doctor, what is your name?"

"I'm Zombina, I'm a zombie."

"A...Zombie? Oh, that explains your skin colour and the patchwork. Tell me, Zombina, where am I?"

"You're at the Warui Okami Hospital, We found you unconscious near the forest.

"Warui Okami...? Am I in Japan? Also, she said I was found in a forest, perhaps my TARDIS is there, I need to find it. Zombina, please, be a dear and go get me some water, I'm rather thirsty." The Doctor asked.

"Oh, okay." Zombina and left the room.

The Doctor in a rush put up some clothes, some ripped trousers, a shirt and a black cape and left from the room from the window. It appears that his brand new body gave him new unhuman strength.

Zombina returned and was shocked that the Doctor disappeared. She looked out of the window, and noticed the Doctor was escaping.

"That bastard!" she said, she gave the alarm and started chasing the wolfman.

Chapter 2: Episode Two

Chapter Text

The Doctor entered in the car park of the Hospital labeled "Doctors only" and, since he was the Doctor, he casually stole a car and turned it on by using his sonic screwdriver. It seemed rather old, but it went really fast and escaped from the Hospital.

"I need to elaborate my situation." The Doctor thought while driving. "So, the Time Lords placed me on a trial because I stole my TARDIS and broke the law of non-interference. They forced a regeneration on me and decided to send me on what seems to be early 21st Century Japan. With the appearance...of a wolfman. Also, what's with those creatures? I don't remember Earth being inhabitated by those mythological creatures, did an invasion happened while I was away? I'm in the 21st Century, right? By looking at that zombie girl's uniform, it appears UNIT still exists." he stopped the car. "It's better if I pass through the forest, I don't want to gather attention on me."

The Doctor left the car and entered in the forest, where is also tried his new powers and "behaviour".

For example, when he started running, he was natural for him doing it like a normal wolf, and it wen really, really fast by doing it.

He managed to arrive near the TARDIS, but it was guarded by UNIT soldiers.

"Ah, fantastic." he sarcastically commented in his mind. "I can't approach the TARDIS without getting shot by those soldiers. I need to find another way. Maybe for now I'll take a rest in that cave. My regeneration is still cooking, so I can't force myself too much." the Wolf-looking Time Lord withdrew himself to the cave. He entered in and took a rest.

But it was short, when he was woken up by a ominous sound.

"Who's there?!" The Doctor asked.

He recluntantly decided to go deeper in the cave.

"Helloooo? Anybody here?" he said, while exploring he started to feel like he was being watched by something, in fact, he even thinks that he saw red eyes looking at him. He explored in and accidentaly fell in the cave.

Meanwhile, at Japanese UNIT Headquarters, Smith was holding a meeting with the member of her team, MON.

"Good morning, girls. I presumed you know what happened this morning in the forest in Asaka." Smith said.

"You mean that meteorite fall? Yeah, we know." Doppel, a Dopperganger that looks like a small, petite young girl with dark skin, very long light-colored hair and black sclera spoke.

"No, I mean this." Smith showed the three photos of two different people. One, was a man in his early sixties, who had shoulder length, greyish-white hair that grew around the back of his head, and piercing blue eyes that rested under expressive eyebrows. The other was a man in his mid forties brown eyes and has a Beatles-like hairstyle.

"W-Who are they?"

"Who is he, you mean. This man was the biggest help UNIT ever received. You see in 1960s, Earth was invaded by aliens called Daleks. UNIT managed to defeat them thanks to a man. He was known as...the Doctor."

"The Doctor?" all the members of MON spoke in unison, except Zombina.

"Yeah, it was basically thanks to him that UNIT exists. He was friend with the Brigadier Alistair-Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, the founder of UNIT and father of our current boss. One of his characteristics that he always has a blue Police box with him."

"D-Didn't they find a Police box in the forest today?" Manako, a shy, dark-haired monoeye girl asked. Smith nodded.

"Yeah, unfortunately, someone let him escape from the Hospital..." she said, Zombina played dumb by whistling. "But anyway, we now need to find him, he can help us with the meteorites. Search all in the city of Asaka, I'm sure he isn't far from there."

"Yes, ma'am!" the members of MON said in unison.

Meanwhile, the Doctor slowly regained consciousness and started to hear a female voice calling him.

"Hey, wake up...You should be more careful, you know?"

"Wha...Who...?"

"Oh, right, I didn't introduced myself. I am Rachnera Arachnera, I'm an Arachne, nice to meet you."

The Doctor could properly see her, her lower-body was that of a big black spider with a skull tatoo on the torso. Her upper body was of a beautiful woman with silver-ish hair, six red pupil-less eyes and large breasts.

If the Doctor was a human, he would be both scared and aroused in this moment by the Arachne. But, since he was not, he remained composed and introduced himself.

"Lovely to meet you, I'm the Doctor." he spoke, in a polite manner.

"My, quite the gentleman you are. Not bad to be a wolf." Rachnera commented.

"Oh, really?"

"Yeah, wolves are usually aggressive people, they don't really much care about "manners"." Rachnera said.

"I see. By the way, where are we? I remember I was falling in a cave."

"You were, luckily I took you in time with my silk. You're in the Arachnes cave, sweetie. Now...Mind telling me what were you doing here?"

"Well, I thought I could take a nap here. Now, how do you leave this place?" the Doctor asked. The Arachne woman made him the gesture to follow her and so he did.

After some minutes, they arrived at the entrance of the cave. From there, they could see the TARDIS and UNIT soldiers guarding it.

"I need to reach that blue box, but those soldiers probably won't let me reach it..." the Doctor said.

"...I think I can help you with that." Rachnera smirked, noticing that it was night outside.

In a blink, Rachnera disappeared from the Doctor's sight and began to strike.

One after another, all of the 5 UNIT soldiers were knocked up by her and trapped in her webs.

The Doctor was utterly flabbergasted by the scene.

"There you go." Rachnera said.

"...Thank you, I suppose." he answered, still elaborating what in the world just happened. Then, he thought about having a companion in this very weird situation he's currently in. "i Suppose you want to know who and what I am. Well, follow me inside, if you wish to know."

Rachnera, curious, followed the advice and, with much of the Doctor and her surprise, she entered inside the TARDIS.

The Arachne was shocked at the sight of the TARDIS interior, but still tried to keep up her cool persona.

"Huh...It's bigger on the inside than on the outside..."

"Indeed it is. Now, I need to go to a place to meet a friend. You can come." the Doctor said.

Rachnera, curious about the Time Lord, accepted his offer.

The alien started the engine, and the TARDIS disappeared.

Meanwhile, at the Japanese UNIT HQs, they were analysing the mysterious meteorite.

"How is the situation going, Dr. Fukuyama?" Ms Smith asked to the head of the scientific department.

"Well, Ms. Smith, I've consulted with the scientific advisor of the British divsion and I can confirm: This meteorite isn't a meteorite. It seems to be some sort of container."

"A container?" Smith raised an eyebrow. "For what?"

"That is the problem. But we-

"We think it is of alien origins." the voice of a woman interrupted him. She had ice-blond, short hair and brown eyes. That woman was Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, Head of UNIT. "Good morning, Ms. Smith."

"Ma'am." Smith did the military salute. "I didn't expect you to come here this early."

"The moment you mentioned a blue police box I came here in a rush. My father would have gladly come here too, since they were old friends."

"Oh, I'm sure the Brigadier wouldn't have wasted any second. Now, do you have informations about the Doctor?" Kate asked.

"All that we know that he still in Asaka. He's good at hiding, it seems."

"Well, from what I learned from my father, the Doctor likes seeking adventure, he's probably trying to investigate about the meteorites, too. And, if I'm righ-"

"Ma'am! A blue box appeared in the entrance hall! There are two suspicious liminals inside!" a soldier spoke from the walkie-talkie.

"What liminals are they?" Smith asked.

"One is a wolfman, the other is an Arachne." the soldier answered.

"Guess our man found us. Let's go." Kate said. She and Smith left the room.

Meanwhile, at the Jidosha Plastics K.K., a man was closing the factory for the night. This factory, produces statues and mannequins made of plastics, it was very dark, so the mannequins were rather creepy. The man was going to leave the place, until he heard some noises, similar to footsteps. The man went to check but he was immobilized and silenced by the mannequins, that appears to be alive.

Chapter 3: Episode Three

Chapter Text

Kate and Smith went downstairs where the Doctor and Rachnera were waiting, with all UNIT soldiers pointing their guns at the two liminals.

"Ah, the Doctor, I presume." Kate said. "It's an honour to finally meet you.I didn’t expect that you were a Wolfman "

"Do I know you? Your face seems familiar." The Doctor said.

"Kate Stewart, head of UNIT, you have met my father, Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, in the past. This woman is Kuroko Smith, head of MON and the Japanese division of UNIT."

"Oh, you're her daughter? Where's your father?"

"He retired., he still has another glass if you want to pay a visit.” Kate said.

“I think I will.” the Doctor said.

“Now, I’m happy for you all and this touching little reunion but…Mind asking those soldiers to kindly put their guns down?” Rachnera said.

“Oh, right.” Kate gave the order and the soldiers put down their guns.

“And who you might be?” Kuroko asked.

“She’s Rachnera, an Arachne.” the Doctor said.

“I just saved him from a couple of soldiers and decided to stick around with him, he seems interesting." She said, while resting her arm on the Doctor's head, since she was towering over him, much with the Time Lord's annoyance.

"Now, it seems that something interesting happened, I noticed how those soldiers were alarmed, what was it?" The Doctor said.

"We found a meteorite near the sight of your TARDIS." Kuroko explained, pointing at what seemed to be a fragment of plastic.

The Doctor looked at it.

"Looks like plastic to me." Rachnera commented.

"Our scientists analysed it, it isn't plastic." Smith said.

"It's a hollow sphere, it means that something was inside of it." The Doctor said. "But what was inside, I wonder?"

"The thing is highly suspicious. That meteorite wasn't the only one that fell. 50 meteorites all across the world." Kate said.

"Was this the only meteorite you found here in Japan?" The Doctor asked.

"No, there was another, which disappeared after an accident." Smith said.

"I doubt it was an accident."  Rachnera said.

"I doubt that too, Rachnera. But the real problem is: Where did it go?

Meanwhile, at the Jidosha Plastics, a young ambitious man, Eijiro Nara, was furious. He helped create a successful brand of dolls and what’s happen the moment he return from the UK? He just got fired!

So, he went to the building to talking with his colleague, Teiji Wakumi, do demand an explanation.

As he entered the building, he noticed weird things: First, there were faces he had never seen before, lifeless, as if they were made of plastic, but he ignored that for the moment.

He knocked on the door of Teiji's office.

"Oh, Eijiro, come in. We weren't expecting you." Teiji said.

Eijiro, silent, put down the letter of resignation he was given. "What's the meaning of this?"

"The letter explains everything." Taiji said.

"No, it doesn't! I helped you with creating a successful brand, you sent me to the UK to convince the British into a join production and what I find the moment I return? A letter of resignation! Explain why!" Eijiro complained

"It's, huh...it's the new policy! We've, er, got a new policy." Taiji said, a bit nervous

"New Policy? It's that why all the staff is gone?" Eijiro asked.

"Y-Yes! We're developing a new process. It's all very secret."

"It looks like, it went from makind dolls to making mannequins. Plus, what's in that workshop down the corridor?" Eijiro asked.

"...Stay away from there, Eijiro."

"But why?"

"It's not safe. You shouldn't have come here, leave immediately."

Then, a blonde haired snake woman wearing a black suit entered in the office.

"There's no point in going on with this, Mr. Nara. Goodbye." Taiji said, his tone changed immediately.

Eijiro left the office, confused and suspicious.

But, he still wanted to investigate so the next day when nobody saw him because of the visit of General Soda, of the Japanese Army, Eijiro entered again inside the building.

They were discussing with Taiji and the snake woman about their products, showing to the General a life-sized dummy with a striking resemblance to him.

"What do you think? I must explain this is only a rough approximation, General." Taiji explained.

"Well, it does seem to need a few finishing touches."

"That is why we asked you here, General. Our measuring techniques are very accurate but the equipment isn't transportable. " the snake woman spoke, her voice sounded polite, yet very cold.

"I see. Well, I hope it turns out all right."

He managed to enter in a room with "Keep Out" written on the door. It was quite big and empty. Only for some mannequins and a terminal computer.

He turned it on, hoping to find some informations.

But suddenly, one of the mannequins became alive and slowly approached Eijio with not-very-friendly intentions.
