Work Text:
It was weird, how he felt about him, everything and everyone was weird, the way he could get lost in his eyes, utterly mesmerized by him. He'd like to think he was smart, smarter than the average student at his high school, but even he couldn't understand how every time Soo Hoo talked, it's like everything around him stopped moving, the world stopped existing and he could only focus on him.
It's funny really, until that famous day, where everything went to shit really, when he finally lost his mind, was also the day when he truly started living and not just surviving. Had he ever lived? Or was he just existing without any real purpose waiting for the end because he didn't have the courage to do it to himself?
So really, Young Bin did him a big favor, he made him realize how much he yearned to feel alive, to feel anything other than the emptiness he constantly felt in his soul, because without knowing, the chain of events started by the actions of a narcissistic kid who hated not being the best and the center of everyone's attention, where the one to put Soo Ho in Si Eun's life.
So yes, some would qualify their relationship as weird, the intensity behind each exchanged looks, the way Soo Ho liked to whisper secrets to Si Eun's ears, the way Si Eun's eyes only lit up for Soo Ho, the way he only smiled for him and when at night, after a tiring day at work, Soo Ho would go to his house to annoy him and interrupt his studies. How seemingly innocent touches would transform into sensual caresses which both of them would wholeheartedly deny because neither of them where ready to admit that what was between them was more than friendship.
It was no wonder Beom Seok felt left out, he naively convinced himself it was all because of Young Yi, refusing to admit that sometimes two people just connect. In reality it was always going to end up like this, him going to meet Beom Seok in place of Soo Ho, him sacrificing himself, him getting hurt, because what was physical pain compared to watching your soul getting hurt? He couldn't let that happen. There's nothing he wouldn't do for Soo Ho, lie, betray, kill... nothing was too much, and in that moment, when that guy (which he didn't care to learn the name) broke his arm, he could finally admit to himself that he could no longer pretend that it was weird how madly and how deeply he was in love with Ahn Soo Ho.
