Summary
"Later, they’ll get all the wedding photos back, and Steve will flip through the ones the photographer took from the reception, including one specifically of the Hellfire crew present—Dustin, Lucas, Mike, Will (who joined post-California), Erica. Eddie. They’re all making that classic Munson devil’s horn gesture, tongues out, except for Eddie, who’s at the back of the picture and seems uncomfortable to be in it at all, his face frozen in an anxious kind of frown. Dustin’s hand is visible on his sleeve, as if to keep him from bolting.
Later, he’ll return to look at it again, when he hears through the grapevine that Eddie left Hawkins just after Christmas, moved somewhere on the West Coast. That the money from playing Steve’s wedding was just enough for the plane ticket, just enough for him to finally start a new life elsewhere, and at long last leave this place behind."
