Chapter Text
Cold.
Dark.
That was all Sage knew now. This is her life.
She made the choice to sacrifice herself to destroy The End. She made the choice to save everyone at the expense of her own freedom.
Something tugged at her. It didn't feel forceful, it felt...somber.
She decided to embrace the tugging. A bright light then flashed, surrounding everything. She thought it was just another void, until she saw a familiar face.
"Father...?" she asked. She almost couldn't believe it.
Eggman smiled. "That's my girl."
If she had a body, she would smile.
"It will take some time to create a body for you again." he said. "What you've become due to merging with the Ancients's technology has made you into something beyond what I could ever create. At least for now."
"Why not just recreate the body I once had?" Sage asked. "You still have the data for it stored somewhere, do you not?"
Eggman thought for a minute. "I do. But will it be enough to handle you?"
"You know yourself, Father. You will make it be enough." Sage reassured him.
Nodding, he got right to work, installing the same machinery that first created Sage and typing away on the keyboard to modify the body's code so that it could contain Sage.
After long, tireless working, it was finally complete.
"The changes are all internal. The physical appearance is the same as it was before." Eggman said. "I hope you're not...y'know, uncomfortable with that."
"It is fine." Sage said, before beginning to transfer herself into the new body's code. A few moments later, she warped herself out of the computer, and into the room the computer was in.
Eggman smiled, bent down, and wrapped his arms around Sage in the tightest hug he could. She was all too happy to return it, finally reunited with her father.
His spectacles fell off his face, lightly clattering to the floor.
He didn't pick them up.
His eyes closed, as he shed tears while embracing his girl.
When they finally let go of each other, she picked up his spectacles and gave them back to him. Standing up, he put them on.
"C'mon. Let's go meet your brothers." Eggman said with a smile.
Sage smiled as well. "I...would like that..."
She reached up and held his hand, and the two of them left to find Orbot, Cubot, and Metal Sonic.
Sage's newfound life with her family was about to begin, and she would cherish every last moment.
