Work Text:
1.
The waves ripple, reflecting the soft yellow glow of the setting sun. Shadows of the shrubs and plants lining the road race past as they disappear in the blink of an eye.
2.
Panda-senpai, Maki-senpai, Inumaki-senpai, Fushiguro, and Kugisaki stand together. As Kugisaki waves at the camera, it moves in closer to her and Fushiguro, who smile together at you.
3.
It’s a lovely fall day. The entrance of Jujutsu High is basked in the pink and yellow light of the sun, shining at a perfect angle. The trees sway softly in the wind, covering the vending machines in shadows. The window of the classroom perfectly catches the light peeking from behind the mountains in the distance.
4.
Fushiguro dons his usual unimpressed expression, talking as he passes by the camera. Kugisaki struggles in the background with her numerous shopping bags, evidence of a fruitful day out.
5.
Panda-senpai roars so close to the camera that he’s blurred, but right past his widened jaw is Inumaki-senpai munching on a tasty onigiri.
6.
Maki-senpai glares and moves to block the camera with her hand, the inaudible words surely a threat and promise of pain.
7.
The cool waves ripple over his feet, back and forth, back and forth.
8.
Numerous doodles covering his face, Fushiguro sleeps peacefully, unaware of the ink that left its mark.
9.
Panda-senpai happily lays on the sand, and Inumaki-senpai seems to have taken the liberty to draw in the sand, making a sand angel around the panda. He looks at the camera and smiles, all the while prodding Panda-senpai’s soft stomach.
10.
Nobara and Maki-senpai leap back from the waves nearing their feet, giggling.
11.
Bags strewn on the sand, they run around and talk on the beach, not a care in the world.
12.
Talking together, Fushiguro and Nobara notice you standing in the distance, gesturing for you to join them.
So you smile and put down the camera, running towards them.
It’s been a lonely life for you. When the only one who mattered died, you weren’t sure if you were ever going to be happy again. But somehow, fate allowed these people into your life, who’ve shared your joy and excitement and sadness and pain. They’ve become irreplaceable figures in your life who have shown you what having a family means.
That’s why you’re sure that when it’s inevitably time for you to go, these are the people who you want by your side.
