Chapter Text
Ziggy wakes slowly, blinking the sleep out of his eyes. There’s warmth next to him, which, after Flop’s long shift the day before, is unsurprising.
He snuggles closer to Flop, pressing a kiss behind his husband’s ear. Flop doesn’t stir, and Ziggy relishes the feeling of his husband in his arms, closing his eyes again and breathing in Flop’s scent.
Still, the sun insistently peeks through the curtains, and Ziggy bites back a groan as he gets out of bed. It’s early yet, though, and he smiles to himself as an idea strikes him.
He makes a simple breakfast- orange juice, toast, and various types of sliced fruit. Ziggy hums to himself as he does so, then digs out a tray from their kitchen and loads it up before returning to their bedroom, where Flop is still sleeping peacefully.
He sets the food on Flop’s bedside table, then climbs into bed next to Flop, drawing his husband into his arms and peppering kisses across his forehead. Flop mumbles incomprehensibly as he rouses, wrinkling his nose. When he sees Ziggy and realizes where he is though, he relaxes, a gentle smile crossing his face.
“Good morning,” Ziggy says, and Flop buries his face in Ziggy’s neck, grumbling. “I brought you breakfast.”
Flop pulls away from the embrace to stare at Ziggy, his eyes lighting up. Then, without warning, he leans in and kisses Ziggy on the mouth. Ziggy doesn’t have time to be startled before Flop separates from him again, peering around the room.
“What’d you make me?” he says, suddenly wide awake, and Ziggy laughs, reaching for the tray. He settles it between them, then takes Flop’s hand, intertwining their fingers as they start to dig in.
