Chapter Text
The party was still loud. After winning the Altus Cup, the team was celebrating their victory in the big conference room. Not everybody was there though, some had already said their polite goodbyes and left, and others had sneaked out to make out with their significant others.
Scanning around the room, Sal searched among the sea of people for the one person she wanted to see the most. He had left a few minutes ago to refill their glasses and hadn't come back yet. Finally, she found him talking with their coach, with two plastic cups in his hands. He seemed to be enjoying himself quite a bit, he and her coach had played in the same team years before, and apparently, he was one of the few teammates who Kulti didn't dislike. Kulti laughed, and suddenly she really wanted to have him by her side.
She pushed herself off the wall she had been leaning against and walked toward them.
"I'm going to steal him from you, if you don't mind." She said while tugging on Kulti's arm. Her coach nodded, smiling.
He offered her one of the cups, but she didn't take it. He thought they would go to the same corner where they had been before he'd left but was surprised to find himself being dragged away from the conference room.
"Where are you taking me, Taco?" She didn't answer and merely entered an office and shut the door, glad to be away from the noise.
She turned and that's when he saw her serious expression, worry quickly took its place on his face. "Sal?"
Wordlessly, she threw her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. His reaction was to hug her in return, carefully holding the plastic cups. "I just..." she started. Then she pulled back a little bit to look into his eyes. "I'm so happy. And I saw you laughing, and at that moment, it just struck me that it's all because of you and I just needed to be close to you immediately."
He smiled and gave her a quick peck on her nose, she blushed, as she always did when he did that.
