"There must be some mistake," Felix says, reaching out to try and stop the clerk from closing the window.
"No mistake," the clerk says tersely, pointing to the name on the bundle. Felix looks down at it, even though he already saw it, giving the clerk the chance to slam the window in his face.
Felix stares at the bundle on the counter in front of him. The outer cloth is black, hiding the inner contents.
Felix isn't curious. Whatever's inside this bundle, he knows it will be miles away from what he was hoping for. He'd been looking forward to this day for months, for years, the same as any sprout. He'd expected the white of a guardian angel, like Chan, or the purple of a fairy. Even pink for a cupid, like Changbin.
