“Da-shixiong.” Ning-shimei’s groan was barely audible to anyone who didn’t have a cultivator’s enhanced senses. To him and the rest of their assembled siblings, though, it rang out like a bell. The only one who didn’t notice was Shizun. He was up ahead and deep in conversation with the Lord who’d summoned them to investigate a series of local disappearances.

“I saw,” Ming Fan sighed. “Eyes front. Everyone knows their roles.”

Frankly, he’d been braced for this moment since he’d asked around about the family hosting them for the duration of this investigation. He’d discovered that they had two marriage-aged daughters in the household, neither of whom were engaged.

Personal note: I'm doing podfics purely to bleed off personal anxiety/stress, so please bear with me and be kind.

My most massive current project: Stunted, Starving Juvenility by TomatenMark, is still ongoing! I just needed a break in recording; I wanted to do something that I could record and listen to rapidly (to de-stress), and SSJ is just way too big for that kind of quick turnaround. But never fear, I'm still working on it and hope to catch up eventually! Ahem, not that I have any objections to the chapters coming out faster than I can record them :)

Any Notes read aloud during the podfic are attributed to the original author, NOT to the podfic reader UNLESS I explicitly state otherwise (ex: "A quick note from gndmlvr01..."). My notes are generally placed in the text Notes at the beginning of a work / chapter, so as not to detract from the original work.

Additionally, I am not a native Chinese (or Japanese, for some of my other podfics) speaker, and I do understand my pronunciation of some names or untranslated words may be off or inconsistent. In particular, sometimes my pronunciation seems to change based on whatever words precede it. I do try to catch it, but after three takes I usually give up and move on. t(ツ)_/¯ Thank you for your patience.
