Amity Blight sat on the bench of a bus stop to take cover from the rain it was only 2 days ago that she ran away from home, ran away from her controlling mother, made that deal with the owl lady to use the portal door. She sat there petting the head of her cat ghost, she thought about her last interaction with her mother. She messed up a showing of home protection abominations, this upset her mother and she was grounding her when amity told her she thought she was over reacting and her mothers response was a smack on the cheek then to drag her to her room and lock the door. Not that far away a human named Luz was playing in the rain, jumping in puddles. The human notices a shivering girl with messy green hair and clothes that looked alittle dirty, curiosity took over and she approached the girl. She asked the girl “hey are you okay.” Amity looked up at her and responded “I’m fine” Luz crossed her arms “you dont look okay you look like your freezing.”
Amity looked down in response and Luz took the girls hand “come with me so you can warm up and not catch a cold” amity reluctantly stood up not sure if she could trust this human. Luz then took off her rain coat and gave it to amity and helped her put it on since she was holding her cat and got her bag for her as amity put the hood up covering her head, Luz then led her all the way to her house and once inside she took off her shoes and told amity to do the same so they wouldn’t get mud on the floor. Amity took off her shoes as Luz called out “mama I’m back..could you come here please!” Amity waited with Luz as she glanced around the house seeing thing she was unfamiliar with. Camila walked into the room and saw amity “who is this?” She asked “I found her sitting outside she looked cold so I brought her here” Camila smiles at her daughters kindness “take off your raincoat and have a seat you can stay and get warm” Camila tells her, Amity smiles slightly and said “thank you ma’am” she put ghost down and took off the raincoat and gave it to Luz then took a seat on the couch as Luz hung up the coat the got a blanket and gave it to her. She took the blanket and wrapped herself up in it “oh wow this is really soft” she whispered to herself as ghost jumped up on her lap and curled into a ball.
Luz sat down next to her putting the bag down too. “Do you live around here?” Luz asks and amity shook her head in response “no I lived far away” Luz tilted her head “lived? Do you not a place to stay?” Once again amity shook her head which cause Luz to get up and go to the kitchen where her mother had left to moments ago. Amity had a confused look of her face as she watched Luz run to another room. Soon Luz came back with Camila and Camila asked her “Luz told me you don’t have a home is that true” she sounded concerned “Um yes” Amity replied shifting alittle, Camila then asked something that suprised Amity “would you like to stay here with us?” Amity’s suprise was plastered on her face she wasn’t expecting this and was unsure of how to respond so she just said “I’ll think about it” Camila nods “dinner will be ready soon oh and please you don’t have to call me ma’am just call me Camila” amity smiles “okay Camila” she smiles back and went back to making dinner. “I’m Luz by the way” Luz tells her sitting down again “My name is Amity” she replys “I like your hair it’s green like Azura” amity quickly looked at her after hearing this and asks “you like Azura the good witch?” Luz nods and says “it’s my favorite book series” amity got alittle excited “it’s my favorite too!” Luz smiles brightly “really?!” Amity nods smiling back at her.
The two talked for afew minutes about Azura before Camila called them into the dinning room to eat. The two got up and took a seat at the table. After dinner Luz took amity upstairs “if you want to take a shower the bathroom is next to my room” Amity nods and went to the bathroom with her bag, she opened it and took out a set of clothes. Meanwhile Luz was in her room sitting on her bed waiting for Amity. 15 mines go by when amity came into her room, Luz was now at her computer playing stardew valley. Amity still had her ears hidden by her now damp hair, she walked over and watched her play curiously. Luz noticed and smiled “wanna play a game too” she asked and Amity thought for a second before saying “sure.” Luz exits the game and asks you what she wants to play Amity shrugs in response and Luz thought for a minute before opening up a game called ‘heart bound’ she got up and let amity sit in the chair. She told Amity how to play and an hour goes by pretty quickly “this is pretty fun” Amity says. Camila knocked on the door before peeking inside “do you girls want to watch a movie” Amity looked over as Luz said “I’d love to mama.”
Curious as to what a movie was Amity also said yes, after closing the game they went down stairs and decided on a movie, they chose ‘the wizard of oz’ Luz made some popcorn for everyone and sat between Amity and Camila on the couch. “After the movie you two get ready for bed school is tomorrow, I’ll sign you up too Amity” Camila said. She then played the movie, Luz and Camila had seen it afew times already though, Amity had never seen a movie but was enjoying the film. After the movie was over Luz said goodnight to Camila and went upstairs with Amity and showed her the guest bedroom which is where she’ll sleep then went to her own room. Amity layed down on the bed it was her first time in the human world sleeping on something that was comfortable. She looked up at the ceiling with a smile as she closed her eyes and soon fell asleep.
