Work Text:
She sat there and thought none of it at first before all realizations came rushing right through her like that one humongous truck she rode on that hit a big box of empty plastic bottles in that one variety show she loathed. Then she sat there, dumbfounded, a wobbling hand raising itself to the right side of her cheek, dangerously near the corner of her lips, as an impending flush slowly started to spread all throughout her face.
She glanced back without removing the hand on her cheek, and she saw Shizuku animatedly talking with Honami, who was on the other side of the door. They must be conversing about something interesting, most probably about Shiho or something about the committee they’re both on but whatever it was, Shizuku spotted her in no time.
Then, the other idol beamed widely at her, extended her arm, and waved frantically, as if she was saying hello for the first time ever since separating from a long-lost loved one.
Even if the only thing separating them were folds of desks, Airi felt that infernal muscle that beats inside her ribcage go silently unhinged at how wide Shizuku’s smile was and how she was always so excited to see her.
And also, how Shizuku just kissed her cheek a few moments ago.
It began like that about two weeks ago but she’s not counting.
(She was.)
Frankly, Airi doesn’t know how it started or how she could have let that happen. She could probably regard it as one of the greatest questions in the world if she wanted to. It was frustrating to no end because one, she couldn’t do anything about it, and more importantly, two, she doesn’t want to do anything about it at all— she wants for it to keep happening because her heart folds like origamis and it’s a feeling she likes washing over her, again and again. Not that she would admit that to anyone.
It happened like this— Airi was minding herself, a bit stressed and haggard while going over a problem set she forgot to do that was supposed to be checked on in their math class after their lunch break. In her defense, she was busy planning their next stream the night before and before she knew it, she fell asleep on her table. Her back was a bit sore when she woke up so there’s also that.
She doesn’t blame anyone except herself for losing track of time. A classmate asked her if she finished the math homework and her eyes almost popped out of her socket and she burned with embarrassment. With a little white lie, she confidently affirmed her classmate’s question.
In hidden shame, she was in her seat, with a bunch of scribbled papers with a bunch of correct and incorrect solutions on top of her desk as she solved for her problem set, eating her lunch as she did so.
“Airi-chan?”
She quickly hunched over her desk to cover her papers, craning her head to see a confused yet delighted Shizuku looking at her in question, who was holding her bento in one hand and a pair of chopsticks in the other.
“Shizuku, you’re going to give me a heart attack here!”
“I’m sorry,” Shizuku said before sitting down on the empty seat behind Airi. “What are you doing?”
“Stream stuff. Don’t worry about it.” Airi said them too quickly as she shuffled in her seat to block her papers from Shizuku’s line of sight. It was a well-practiced answer since many of their classmates also asked her earlier.
Shizuku tilted her head in question before eventually shrugging, and eating the piece of meat on her chopsticks. “Have you eaten yet? I don’t want you to skip lunch. You might get sick and I don’t want that to happen to you.”
“You’re like an older sister sometimes,” laughed Airi as she looked back at her papers.
Shizuku laughed warmly. “I am an older sister.”
Airi caught the warmth forming on the nape of her neck, circling up to the front of it until it eventually reached the tip of her ears.
“Of course,” she cleared her throat before grabbing hold of her bento box that was on the empty seat next to her and showing it to Shizuku. “My mom packed me some hamburg steak today. And don’t be such a worrywart, I’m eating lunch while doing my assign—”
She caught herself immediately. “—While planning our latest stream.”
Internally, she breathed a sigh of relief.
“That’s good,” Shizuku agreed before munching on another piece of meat. Airi caught a wide smile gracing Shizuku’s face. “Shii-chan and I woke up early so we can cook curry together.”
Suddenly, talking with Shizuku was more important.
“That sounds really nice.” All thoughts of doing her missing assignment were out the window as she grabbed her bento box and shuffled in her seat to face Shizuku. “Did Shiho fight you about what you should cook?”
Seemingly giggling to herself, Shizuku shook her head. “No, she didn’t. I was supposed to be the one to cook earlier since our parents weren’t home for the day because of work. But then, Shii-chan woke up and then decided to help me too! She was so sweet.”
While the other idol continued ranting about what curry she and her sister cooked earlier, Airi took in the sight in front of her— a Shizuku whose smile almost reached her eyes, her hair on the front a bit messy than most but still ineffably pretty in a way only Shizuku could embody.
Airi listened to what Shizuku was saying, taking in everything the other girl was saying with much intent. As they continued to talk to each other, Airi laughed quietly to herself some moments later when she spotted a few twinges of curry sauce on one corner of Shizuku’s lips.
“Hm, Airi-chan?” Shizuku tilted her head.
“You have, uh, something on your,” she pointed to her on the left corner of her lips, hoping Shizuku would get the message.
“Oh!” Shizuku exclaimed as Airi nodded, with a giggle.
Airi saw Shizuku bring out her handkerchief from her pocket before bringing the cloth to her mouth, wiping some of the sauce that settled on the corner of her lips but not entirely.
“Is the sauce all gone?” Shizuku asked after she brought down the cloth and Airi should’ve said some words of disagreement or at least, just a simple no instead of—
“Here, let me.” In silent haste, she put down her bento box on her desk before she took Shizuku’s handkerchief from the other idol’s hand.
The distance between the two desks was small enough for Airi to extend her torso and her arm to the other side, as she wiped the curry sauce, the distance between the two of them turned to inches. She caught Shizuku’s eyes fluttering shut as she gently dabbed the handkerchief on the remaining curry sauce that settled on the corner of what seemed to Airi were Shizuku’s soft lips. She felt the corner of her hand burn in on itself when she accidentally grazed Shizuku’s cheek.
Airi felt herself swallow a breath before she retracted her arm and sat on her seat properly, more quickly than she would have liked.
“There.” She heard her voice crack as she closed her eyes shut, giving the handkerchief back to Shizuku.
The sight of Shizuku laughing rattles her insides, tickling her heart in a way it does whenever she looks at Shizuku. It only happens with her anyway.
Who was Airi kidding? She sees that sight every day for a long time and it still manages to make her insides churn worse than the things people put in shredder machines and her brain to suddenly make those human pop-up versions of 404 Error.
“Shizuku-senpai!”
Airi thinks Honami is some god whose mission was to save her from further embarrassment. She quietly thanked her in her thoughts and maybe later as well when she catches her in time. Shizuku cast her gaze to the door and from where Airi sat, she saw the same grin breaking over the idol’s face.
“Honami-chan!”
Shizuku stood up immediately, still holding her bento box but before she could go to Leo/need’s drummer, Airi caught Shizuku’s look at her.
“Airi-chan, could you watch over my lunch for me?” Shizuku asked with a pout and honestly, How could anyone say no to that type of face you’re making!? was what Airi wanted to say but she settled with a quick nod and hoped that she was doing a good job of concealing her flushed expression.
The taller idol put her food down on the top of the desk and just as Airi thought she would finally approach Honami (who was patiently waiting by the door and mostly looking at them with a questioning glint in her eyes), Shizuku bent down a bit.
And left a kiss on her cheek.
She caught Honami making an O with her mouth before giving her thumbs up and a smile. What was that for? Did Shizuku and Honami talk about this? Were they conspiring?
Shizuku pulled back and grinned at her before rushing over to Honami.
And the warmth that she put on Airi’s cheek never left Airi’s mind (or her cheek) throughout the day.
But her problem set did— the sole reason why she was panicking in her lunchtime. She did, however, answer most of it before Shizuku decided to join her.
She did pass the assignment so there’s that. Airi won either way.
That was two weeks ago.
After that, Shizuku started leaving kisses on her cheek for no reason. Airi didn’t question it at all, even when most of those kisses gravely neared her lips. Shizuku continued doing it, not sensing or noticing the dilemma Airi was under whenever she did so.
Shizuku does it whenever it’s time to go home— especially whenever she and Shizuku need to part ways by Shibuya Crossing, and the taller idol glances at her with this longing look on her face that Airi always counts to be there whenever landing a kiss on that same spot on her cheek.
“Stay safe going home, okay?”
Airi dumbly nodded, reaching to cup that spot on her cheek.
Shizuku kisses her cheek whenever she needs to go home first after practice.
“My mother is already looking for me. I’ll go home now. See all of you tomorrow! Good practice today!”
And Airi made it a habit to hide her flushed face whenever Minori and Haruka looked at her amusedly, saying that It’s something she does whenever she leaves, okay!? It’s normal! Don’t mind it next time she does it!
“Oh, is it?” Haruka wiggled her eyebrows together and Airi threw her a glare.
(Airi doesn’t think Minori and Haruka were convinced. She isn’t even convincing herself but it’s better that or she has to endure more teasing from her juniors.)
Shizuku kissed her cheek, discreetly this time (as opposed to the many times she does it in front of strangers in Shibuya and her snarky little juniors, mainly just Haruka but Minori laughs at her too sometimes so she’s going to count her in) when Airi got a perfect score in her report in her class. Shizuku’s desk was directly on the row across from hers and just as when she sat on her seat, Airi heard pens clattering on the floor from Shizuku’s side. She quickly bent down to help her but then she felt a warmth on that spot on her cheek again. Her head snapped up and watched Shizuku grin at her, some of the discarded pens on the floor remained discarded as she stared at her aghast.
“Airi-chan, congratulations on getting a perfect score!”
Airi felt the pens fisted in her hand slowly disappear and only then did she register Shizuku getting them from her, their hands brushing against each other in a way only Airi could savor the slight sensation in.
Shizuku sat on her seat properly but Airi stared at her still, her mouth hanging open as a sprawling mess of warmth spread all over her face again the way it did ever since two weeks ago.
(Or, probably more than that but she couldn’t admit that not to anyone else except maybe herself.)
“Momoi, please sit down!”
She felt her eyes widen comically as she scrambled to sit on her desk, almost tripping as she did so.
“My apologies, sensei!”
Whatever the circumstances were, Shizuku kissed her cheek and she felt her heart skip in herculean amounts.
Despite that, Airi always puts her hand on that spot on her cheek, that warmth resonating from that side of her face to the palm of her hand and to the ends of her fingertips, a lingering reminder of how much warm and tingling emotions Shizuku puts her in every single time.
That was only yesterday but the memory of it burns brightly in her cerebrum and she wants to slam it out of her head but she can’t because Shizuku kissing her cheeks drive her insane in the most delectable way possible. Right now, she was on the rooftop finishing most of her morning stretches while it was still recess. Minori and Haruka can’t join since the first years have an important seminar to attend so it’s just her and Shizuku today.
She breathed out a sigh of relief when she reached her toes quite as easily as she almost always did. Standing up from her yoga mat, she saw Shizuku sitting on one of the benches of the rooftop, seemingly ruffling through her bag. After rolling her mat, she approached Shizuku.
“What are you doing?” Shizuku looked up wearing a pout and Airi had to look away briefly to search for a way to stop herself from screaming Stop making that cute face! You want me to die, don’t you!?
Thankfully, she didn’t.
(If Haruka was there, she would’ve said something along the lines of It will be a good death for you though or You will die happily.
Airi would’ve agreed.)
“Looking for my lipstick,” Shizuku replied before continuing to search for the cosmetic product. “I could have sworn I put it in my bag.”
Airi sat down next to her. “Have you checked the tiny pockets on the sides? You sometimes put small things there so your lipstick might be there.”
Shizuku immediately checked the side pockets of her bag and Airi frowned. “We aren’t allowed to bring lipsticks or makeup though?”
“Oh, it’s not exactly a lipstick.” Shizuku smiled widely once she found her missing cosmetic, holding the stick in front of her and Airi.
Airi felt her face flush and said, “It’s chapstick.”
There was a pause between those two words as if she just stumbled upon some grim realization even when it was far, too far from being grim.
“Yup!” Shizuku grinned enthusiastically.
Airi sighed. “I guess they allow chapsticks here since they’re supposed to help with chapped lips.”
“It’s a bit darker than your usual chapstick but I really can’t help but use it since Honami-chan and Saki-chan gave it to me yesterday.” Shizuku giggled warmly and Airi cursed herself for being what she says as ‘in too deep.’ “Shii-chan’s friends are just as thoughtful as her!”
Do they know? was Airi’s only thought.
(They must know. This must be on purpose.)
“I talked to Mizuki-chan about this yesterday when I got home too.”
“Oh, yeah?” Airi watched as Shizuku started applying some of the chapstick to her lips. “What did they say?”
“We talked for hours.” Airi could make out the words tumbling out of Shizuku’s mouth as she continued to apply the chapstick to her lips. “They were really excited when I told them about this new chapstick so I promised them we’d go make-up shopping soon and we could try the new make-up in the mall.”
“Hey, don’t leave me and Ena out,” she joked, nudging Shizuku gently. “She might go insane on me and Mizuki-san if we’re not invited.”
“No, of course not!” Shizuku finished and turned to Airi, the latter swallowing another bated breath at how good Shizuku looked with the chapstick meticulously applied to her lips.
“What do you think?” Shizuku asked Airi a few moments later, obviously referring to the added color on her lips.
The atmosphere between them shifted (at least from her perspective) and unfolded more quickly than a speeding bullet and she can’t help but hope that Shizuku noticed it too because she needed to.
“It’s looks,” Airi paused and she vividly heard the strain in her voice, cursing herself inwardly. She can feel the flush on her face extending near the teeniest of hairs on the nape of her neck.
“Really pretty on you, Shizuku.” She cleared her throat and faced away, trying to hide her near-flushed face from her. “That color suits you nice.”
There was literally no reason to include on you in her response but to Airi, now that Shizuku wore that color, she expertly and flawlessly ruined it for everyone else who wore it.
From her side, she heard Shizuku laugh and then, “Thank you, Airi-chan.”
Airi found the courage to finally face her and she frowned once again when she saw Shizuku’s knitted brows while looking at her phone.
“What is it?”
“Asahina-san messaged the group chat for the archery club,” Shizuku replied, scrolling through her phone, and Airi was near to tears at how expertly Shizuku was using her own phone.
( It’s the little things, Haruka, she near-sobbed to Haruka once when she ranted about how Shizuku perfectly captured a screenshot of the place the idol wanted them to hang out. It was such a thoughtful act and Airi’s heart almost exploded.
Is this how you and Shizuku work? Because I don’t think Minori and I can be like this, Haruka said to her and Airi had half a mind to throw her off her balance while doing yoga.)
“She says here that we have a mandatory meeting starting in ten minutes.”
“Huh, clubs don’t usually call a meeting while it’s still school hours. It must be important.”
“She says it’s about an upcoming archery competition.”
Airi looked at her, an eyebrow raised in question. “Do you want to join?”
“I think I do,” Shizuku said as she put her phone in her bag. “Unlike Asahina-san, my skills in archery still need some work and refinement. I think this could be a perfect opportunity to improve myself as an archer.”
Airi hummed as she smiled at her. Shizuku’s determination and will to improve in whatever aspect is something Airi had always admired about the idol. Rather than just being captivated by her beauty and talent, Shizuku is the type of person who still wants to be better and to further herself despite being deemed as the standard by many. She loved that about her.
Loves that about her.
“That’s a great idea, Shizuku. I’m looking forward to supporting you.” Airi stood up as she loosened her ponytail. “But shouldn’t you leave now if you don’t want to be late? Your meeting is in the archer range, right? That’s still a couple of walks away.”
“You’re right!” Shizuku snapped up and quickly slung her bag on her shoulder, ruffling her hair in an attempt to straighten out some messy and loose strands. “I should get going now!”
“Okay, I’ll just walk you to the door—”
Then, that warmth on her cheek again. It came almost an instant, stayed for merely a microsecond, and it was gone, its effects everlasting. She barely registered it, her lids were halfway parted before it happened yet it happened. Again.
“I’ll see you later for practice, Airi-chan!” Then, Shizuku was out of the rooftop as she sped down the stairs, leaving Airi standing there, staring at the unclosed door from where Shizuku disappeared in.
Airi stood there for a good couple of seconds, putting a hand on her cheek again, the sensation of Shizuku’s kiss tingling longer than usual on her cheek.
Her lips curled upwards, caressing that spot on her cheek with her thumb, almost longingly.
The bell rang. It was fifteen minutes before classes began.
She quickly shook her head, pulling her hand back to her side, and fisted it, telling herself to get a grip as there were still classes she needed to attend. Picking up her bag, she headed to the nearest restroom to change out of her practice clothes.
Once she got there, she refrained from looking directly at the giant mirror that hung in the restroom by the entrance because she feared that her flushed face would be the one greeting her.
It’s just another kiss on the cheek! She’s been doing that for the past week! Get it out of your system already! It’s been days!
Groaning, she walked out of the restroom, still avoiding the mirror, unable to face her shame. Reaching the corridors of the third floor where her classroom resided by the end of the hall, she walked mindlessly to herself, letting her thoughts run wild in her head, hoping that no one would pay her no mind.
That was until she came across two of her classmates by the hallway.
“Good morning, Airi-san! Did you finish— Huh!?”
Airi was a bit taken aback by her classmate’s aghast reaction, wondering what warranted such a response. “Did I finish what?” She looked at both of them, looking at her face with wide eyes. “Is everything alright? You’re both looking at me weirdly.”
One of them frantically shook their head. “No! I mean, yes! Everything’s good!” Her classmate gave her an awkward smile. “I just remembered we have to go to the teacher’s lounge! Okay, goodbye!” They grabbed her other classmate’s arm and they both ran off hastily to where Airi walked from.
“Hey, wait! The teacher’s lounge is that way!” Airi yelled as she pointed in the opposite direction.
Airi’s brows furrowed as both of her classmates were out of earshot. Did they seem to have been scared? Or perhaps just incredibly surprised. But she was sure she wasn’t doing anything that was worth that type of reaction from them.
She shook her head again and clutched her bag before walking towards her classroom.
The people that were in the hallway were either looking funnily or weirdly at her. She heard some whispers containing her name; there was even this group of friends that weren’t even attempting to lower their voices down, and as much as she wanted to intervene and demand some answers, she already trained herself not to engage with people when they talk negatively about her.
(It’s a trait she learned in her time as a variety idol and it does come in handy most of the time.)
She rolled her eyes and restrained herself. She caught Minori and Haruka standing in front of their classroom door and a tang of relief rushed through her. She power-walked toward them and they seemed to have spotted her as indicated by Minori’s enthusiastic wave.
“Hey, Airi-chan! The seminar finished earlier than scheduled so Haruka-chan and I wanted to give you the— Eh!?”
All red seemed to have rushed to Minori’s face and the sound of Minori’s surprise seemed to have resonated within the hallway as Airi caught some questioning stares being thrown their way in the corridor.
“Minori!” Airi shushed her. “Quiet down with your reactions, will you!?”
“But, Airi-chan—!”
Airi sighed in annoyance. “People have been looking at me weirdly and I haven’t even done anything!”
Airi glanced at Haruka, who was biting down her lower lip, looking as if she was concealing a laugh.
“What is so funny, Haruka?” She groaned. “Is it an answer to the weird stares I’ve been getting from people?”
“Airi, it’s just that—”
“What?” There was desperation laced in her voice already but before Haruka could even answer, someone interrupted them.
“Ah, there you are Airi-senpai.” Airi heard a familiar voice. “Onee-chan forgot her lunch at home and I was wondering if you could give it to her.”
From Haruka’s other side emerged Shiho, holding a small bag. Airi thought that it must have been Shizuku’s bento box inside it.
When Shiho caught sight of her, she shared the same looks of surprise as those of the people in the corridor and Minori. Her mouth hung open and there were some tints of pink present on her cheek.
“Not you too, Shiho.” She groaned yet again before rubbing her temples. “Can someone please tell me what the hell is happening?”
Shiho’s gaze alternated between Haruka and Minori, and Airi as if taking in such an incredulous situation. Airi could tell because of the disbelieving expression on Shiho’s face.
Shiho faced Airi’s two groupmates swiftly. “You two haven’t told her yet!?”
Haruka let out a soft giggle slip past her. “We’re about to but now I think you should do it, Hinomori-san.”
Airi heard Shiho let out a scoff before groaning and shaking her head. Taking a deep sigh, Shiho looked at Airi seriously, her brows knitted in concentration and with an expression that obviously says let’s get this over with .
“Airi-senpai.” Shiho began and Airi heard some sort of embarrassment in her voice. Shiho faced Haruka and Minori again, desperation clinging in her eyes from what Airi could make out. Haruka only pointed at Airi and Minori shook her head violently.
Shiho made a sound of annoyance and looked at Airi. “Airi-senpai, did onee-chan somehow kiss you?”
Shiho said it so fast that it almost didn’t register to her but Airi made out all of it and she felt like a deer caught in headlights. She felt the tip of her ears heat up once again, stretching to her cheeks.
“Did she say that to you?” Airi cleared her throat and immediately faced away, hiding her now-flamed face. “Has she been telling you about…” Her face burned again as she paused. She let out a quiet groan. “...about her kissing me?”
“God, no!” Shiho made a sound of disgust. “Why would you even— I’d rather break my bass.”
She heard Haruka quietly containing her giggles. Also Minori for some reason.
“Then, how did you know?” Her own voice was so small she could barely make it out.
“Because, Airi-senpai,” Shiho’s voice was suddenly strong which made Airi face her. There was still a flushed expression on the younger Hinomori’s face and she sucked in another breath.
“You have a lipstick mark on your cheek.”
Airi felt a comical gust of wind pass through them.
Huh?
Airi accidentally let down her bag from her shoulder and clambered to get her phone from her pocket. Hastily opening the front camera, she searched for that mark.
There she found it, her eyes widening— a pinkish mark, the color of the chapstick Shizuku showed her earlier, a painfully obvious shape of someone’s lips on the spot Shizuku always kisses on her cheeks, near her lips.
She doesn’t need to continue looking further into her camera to know that she’s flushed now.
“You really didn’t know?” Shiho asked. More of a deadpan than a question.
“No!” She finally found her voice as she put her phone back in her pocket. “It didn’t even cross my mind at all! I mean, I doubt Shizuku even realized.”
“I thought lipstick wasn’t allowed in Miya though?” Minori put a questioning finger under her chin.
“It’s chapstick,” Airi sighed. “Chapsticks are allowed here.”
(Airi wished it wasn’t.)
(No, actually. She really, really didn’t .)
“Chapstick?” Shiho sounded like she had some answers. “Honami and Saki said they were buying chapstick the other day. Could it be that?”
“Yeah. Shizuku said Honami-chan and Saki-chan gave it to her yesterday.”
“So, I guess now we know who the culprit is.” Minori crossed her arms confidently.
“We knew all along who it was, Minori.”
“Oh. Hehe. You know what I meant, Haruka-chan.”
Airi sighed in embarrassment. She wondered why she hadn’t realized it sooner. She had been traipsing down the halls with a kiss mark on her cheek. A visible one at that. Of course, people were going to notice that. No wonder her two classmates from earlier reacted that way and people were gossiping.
She winced at the realization that people must have known it was Shizuku that gave it to her. There’s bound to be some teasing from her classmates later. Especially from those two that she had talked to earlier.
She was suddenly brought back to Shizuku’s kiss earlier. How it seemed so normal for Shizuku to do now. It was a routine she needed to follow every time she leaves Airi like it was a reminder that she was with Airi or that she was always thinking about her the way Airi did with her.
Airi’s heart thumped loudly at the thought.
“Airi-senpai, I think, uh, you should wash that off before a teacher sees and sends you to the prefect of discipline.”
Right, the kiss mark. She almost entirely forgot about that.
“Yes, right. Of course.”
Leaving her bag in front of the classroom door, she rushed to the restroom on their floor, spotting the amused expressions of some of her peers. She gave them awkward and tight-lipped smiles as she fastened her pace.
That Shizuku, seriously.
Airi frowned (it was more of a pout if she was being honest) at Shizuku as the other idol continued to apologize to her, probably for the nth time that day.
Shizuku invited her over that day to help her with something regarding their streams and Airi thought it was a good idea to bring up what happened the other day, much to her embarrassment but it was Shizuku after all. That talk eventually resulted in Shizuku feeling bad and Airi felt bad now.
“I’m so sorry, Airi-chan!” Shizuku said again. “I really didn’t mean to leave that on your face! I would never do anything to embarrass you, I promise!”
“Shizuku,” Airi huffed as she offered the idol a reassuring smile. “I promise it’s fine. It just caught me off-guard. That’s all.”
“You weren’t scolded by a teacher, right?”
“Nope. I removed it in time before a teacher could even see.”
Shizuku still seemed regretful and Airi felt her heart constrict at the sight. Looking around the room, she spotted Shizuku’s makeup kit on the white table near the giant glass windows of her room. Airi suddenly got an idea.
Standing up from her seat, she walked over to the table and fetched the kit before going back to the table in the middle of the room. Shizuku looked at her confusedly before Airi offered her a smile.
“What about we do each other’s makeup?”
Shizuku’s mood instantly brightened and Airi’s heart nearly leaped out of her chest.
It was a few moments or so when Shizuku finished applying a fresh coat of light pink tint on Airi’s lips. Picking up the hand mirror, the idol inspected Shizuku’s work handiwork and was impressed; she must have picked up many skills in her time as a model.
“What do you think of that color?” Shizuku asked, looking expectant, playing with the lipstick pencil in her hand.
Airi’s eyes land on the mirror again. The shade of pink Shizuku picked matched her eyes and she found it complementary to her hair as well. With a big grin, she faced Shizuku.
“I love it! Thank you a lot, Shizuku!”
Shizuku shared her wide grin and Airi was captivated again by that smile. The taller’s idol cheeks puffed out like it always does whenever she smiles and suddenly, another idea came to Airi’s mind.
“I was thinking I could put eye-shadow on you next and then we could—”
Shizuku stopped talking mid-sentence when Airi stood up and extended her body across the small table and gave Shizuku’s cheek a kiss, pulling away after a good five seconds, smiling at how bright the lipstick mark on the side was.
Returning to her seat, she could barely stifle her smug smile when she caught Shizuku’s shocked and crimson expression.
“What was that for?” Shizuku stammered out, her flushed face unrelenting any time soon as she looked at the mirror Airi was using earlier.
“Payback,” Airi replied, crossing her arms with a huge grin on her face.
Shizuku’s features softened. Then, she smiled at Airi fondly. Airi could tell that much as her heart pounded again.
“Then, I will give you payback as well.”
That means more kisses. Airi doesn’t mind that.
Airi doesn’t mind that at all.
