"Congrats on being our 50th customer today! Here is your prize. " The shop assistant handed Nene a pink teddy bear with a lace dress; it reminded her of an old friend, maybe they would like it.
The train ride there wasn't long; but it gave Nene time to think about things, how the wonderstage has helped her, how he helped her and how it's been a while since she has been to that friend's house. Wonder if they still live there? A small wave of relief phased her as her pink haired friend opened the door, greeting her with a wide smile,
"Nene! I just got your text. It's been so long!" Mizuki jumped at the chance to hug a friend they hadn't talked with in so long
"Yes it has been," Nene offered the bear.
"It looked like you, so I decided why not give it to you." Mizuki's eyes brightened as they looked at the bear as she grabbed Nene's arm and brought her inside.
"Would you like lunch? I was gonna take some sandwiches if you want one! Extra pickles, right?" Nene smiled at them
"Right."
"So what is life like after all this time?"
"Uhh, pretty nice! The troop and rui are doing great, and I feel like my singing has improved a lot....." Mizuki giggled at Nene's rambling, happy that they finally got back into contact after junior-high. Mizuki cut the finished sandwiches into diagonals before pouring a portion of chips onto the 2 plates before placing one in front of their guest.
"Thank you so much! It looks great!" Nene's eyes widened at the generous amount of meat and vegetables stuffed in between the slices of toast. She slowly moved the sandwich to her face trying to find the best place to bite before diving in
"Itsh delicioush!" Nene said in-between Chews it felt good to finally sit down and talk after hectic waves in the hallways and quick chatters before class.
"How's Rui doing?" Mizuki said after tasting their own lunch
"He's doing ok I think... he seems to have some struggles he's not telling me about and I really want him to know that I am here for him and that I want him to be ok,because I.." Nene thought about what to say.
"Because you love him?" Mizuki declared with a smirk.
Nene choked on her sandwich.
