Isagi isn’t sure if he should start the game which Bachira had been begging him so avidly to play (considering both Chigiri and Nagi were hooked and honestly recommended him to stay away to save him his sanity) but Bachira’s nagging is endless. So despite the nauseating 20GB it’d take up on his phone, he reluctantly downloads Fantasy Impact.
The startup screen shows a fight scene and he chooses his main character, he goes for the girl simply because her design looked better, and he’s started. He climbs the ranks quickly, the game was fairly easy in gameplay, just talk to NPCs, collect items, explore, and progress in the story, and by the end of the week he was already at TR (traveler rank) 20. He didn’t know why Bachira (who’d been playing for over a year) was at 58, but he wasn’t one to question it (he had the ability to notice that every level required more exp than the previous…)
His friends hopped into his world from time to time to help him kill enemies and bosses for materials, he was taught how to summon and heard Bachira curse him out for getting a character who he didn’t know on his first try, but it seemed they were valuable enough for Bachira to be jealous over.
Isagi’s exploring his world one day when a join request pops up. He doesn’t recognize the player, ‘Kaiser’ is their nickname, and the profile is the same as the character he’d pulled earlier with Bachira on his first summon. Out of curiosity (and questions on how to use the character) he lets the player join, and he’s met with his own character facing him.
Kaiser: Hey there, noticed your TR. Need any help?
Isagi:Well.. Do you know how to use the character you’re using now? I summoned them a while ago but don’t know how to play them…
Isagi was a tad bit nervous to ask the question to a player he didn’t know, especially considering he’d heard horror stories from Bachira where when he was a low TR player he was fooled into using several characters wrong from players looking to mess with him.. But he’ll trust in Kaiser, and even if he does get messed up, Bachira can help him later.
Kaiser: Oh you mean Yuki? Well it depends how you want to use her, she’s supposed to be a fighter but has potential for a supporting character. Which one do you want to go for?
Isagi: Well since she’s meant to be a fighter I’ll go for that I guess? How do I make her strong?
Kaiser: Come with me
Isagi follows Kaiser aimlessly, going to a spawn point near a boss he hadn’t dared to touch yet. Was this the boss Yuki needed? He’d died every time he tried to fight it.. If that was the case, he’d be royally screwed.
Isagi: I don’t think I can fight that… I die everytime I go near it lol
Kaiser: Good thing your knight in shining armour is here :YukiHaha:
Isagi snickered to himself at the words, the emoticon of Yuki making it all the funnier. He probably could trust this Kaiser guy, he seemed nice enough. Isagi tread down to the eerie depths of the bosses cave, hearing the battle music begin the moment it awakens. His character stood fearfully in the corner while Kaiser killed it in 0.2 seconds, Isagi stared at the screen, it horrified him how strong the top players were…
Isagi: How did you even kill it that fast???
Kaiser: What can I say? I’d do anything to protect you, a monster like that is nothing for me :RaiSmug:
Kaiser: Anyway come with me, this boss is gonna take a bit to respawn so.. Let me show you something.
Isagi was thoroughly enjoying all the emoticons being sent his way, and considering the corny lines that some makeshift fairytale prince would spew, he followed Kaiser to the next spawn point without a thought. He swam to the island Kaiser was leading him to, and a small heart made of bricks on the ground could be seen. Kaiser’s character stepped inside, and Isagi watched from the outside.
Kaiser: Step inside, a present awaits you M’lady
Isagi: Alright, my prince
Isagi moved his character, and a chest appeared inside the heart between the two of them. He looked in awe.. It was clear the game put this little chest in there with the heart for either laughs with friends or for an ingame date with lovers, he was surprised Bachira hadn’t told him about it already.
Isagi: omg thank you for showing me that chest, not even my friend did…:HoriSad:
Kaiser: Tsk tsk such a bad friend, no worries princess, I’m here to show you anything :RyuLaugh:
Isagi: :HoriBlush:
Isagi: Pipe it down with the nicknames, I’m a dude :KaruSmirk:

Kaiser: If there’s a hole theres a goal

Isagi can’t help but laugh, he should ideally be offended at being helped only for the sake of some cheap flirting and hopeful romance, but this is Fantasy Impact. Kaiser of all people would know there's no way he’d meet a potential lover on the servers, but Isagi throws the question anyway.
Isagi: So you only helped me because you thought I was a cute chick? I’m so heartbroken.. :SaeSigh:
Kaiser: I helped you because you’re a cute dude wdym :HoriThumsup:

Isagi: Woah, what language is that?
Kaiser: German, aka, the best, hottest, and most jaw droppingly attractive language in the world
Isagi: The most attractive language is most definitely Japanese, sorry for your loss bro :RinBroken:
Kaiser: really? Tell me your best pick up line in Japanese then, prove to me your language is so superior
Isagi: We’re not known for romance…

Isagi: tough luck on that, shoot right at me

Isagi momentarily exits the game to quickly translate the line Kaiser had just thrown at him, he prepared himself for likely the most vile insult known to man, but instead is met with.
I’m a writer and I’m writing a telephone book. Your number is still missing though.
He laughs despite the subtle blush on his cheeks, that pickup line was, Isagi’s not going to lie, not the greatest. But hey, he appreciated the effort for actually using a pickup line.
Isagi: That was the worst pickup line ever, german loses by a landslide
Isagi: But appreciate your effort, my number is xxx-xxx-xxxx
Kaiser: ????? HOW DID THAT WORK
Kaiser: :NagiSurprise:
Kaiser: Didn’t your parents teach you stranger danger
Kaiser: WAIT HOW OLD ARE YOU AM I GONNA GET ARRESTED?
Isagi stared at his screen in distaste, he’d thought the man who was flirting shamelessly with him would be more aware of the fact he didn’t know his age earlier but… he supposes the headstrong ones are always a little slow.

Isagi: And no, I’m 17 thanks
Kaiser: Don’t give out your number to strangers, what if i was a creepy old man
Kaiser: I am not I’m a drop dead sexy 18 year old but still

The text chat is blank for a moment, and for a second Isagi worries he might have offended the other player, but the typing symbol comes within a moment.
Kaiser: …

Isagi logs off before Kaiser responds and keeps their conversation going for longer. He stretches before putting his phone away. To an extent, he hopes Kaiser texts him, but he’s not entirely sure considering how easily shy he got the moment Isagi said anything slightly suggestive back at him.
Oh well, not like it matters anyway. If Kaiser texts him then it escalates from there, if he doesn’t Isagi will forget him, and if he tries anything he’ll be unsuccessful considering he’s changing his number in 2 days. All things considered, Isagi didn’t see anything too bad or disappointing happening.
Guesses he’ll just have to wait and see.
