Work Text:
‘i’
shattered in a million
in four great shades
time, space
life, death
i was one; i was all
i was the world itself
celestial decrees and rules
it was all me
god is everywhere
i am everywhere
in the dew at dawn
in the wind at dusk
in you
in me
i is all
all is me
‘love’
an evolutionary trait
just chemicals
and electricity
needed to live
but not to exist
another false ideal
of both heavens and earth
ha. quite childish
‘you’
rose to be millions
under my hand, you were shaped
genome, deoxyribonucleic acid
obscure code for you
wondrous poetry for me
i wrote you, with your flaws
and your potential
and your all
‘i love you’
do i? love, it must be love
for even when i strike down your arrogation
(a flaw befitting of a child-
do better.
do not force me to punish you
nailing down your progress
makes me look like an unloving parent)
i still allow you to live
i am harsh, unyielding, yes
but it is because i love you
truly!
remember the covenant inscribed in your flesh
in your bones and blood
tracing back to that glorious ark
remember it and
be an obedient child.
