Work Text:

Ranboo held his breath as the gun was aimed right at his head. The finger, he observed, was fiddling with the trigger, but not pulling it. Suddenly, the person holding the gun swung it to the wall and shot, making Ranboo flinch, hard.

“Tommy!” Ranboo shouted, glaring at the blond boy. “Do you do this to everyone that enters the room?” He hissed under his breath, trying to get over the brief panic. He was sure Tommy could see the glimpse of fear in his eyes, if his wide-spread grin was any indicator at all.

“Relax! I wasn’t gonna kill you!” Tommy threw his hands up in a gesture, making Ranboo flinch. Tommy pointed to a chair. Ranboo sat.

“Well how was I gonna know that? I opened the door and you fucking pointed a gun at me, Tommy,” Ranboo muttered, rolling his eyes. Tommy glared at the older teen and rolled his eyes before sitting back in his chair.

Tommy looked to the side and muttered, “I would drop the attitude, Ranboo M.B.” Ranboo sighed and glanced cautiously at Tommy. “What did you need, Tommy?” Tommy’s grin grew wider as he sharpened a knife that he previously picked up from his desk. The rock and the blade made a noise that made Ranboo cringe, it was terrible. He shuddered, but waited.

Suddenly, the knife was slammed into the smooth surface of the desk, making a loud splitering noise. Ranboo’s heart jumped, and he had to take a moment to take a few deep breaths and keep himself out of panic. He hated visiting Tommy, because of how scary and loud he could be.

Ranboo muttered something under his breath, and then Tommy raised his eyebrow, “What was that?”

Ranboo said, “What do you need?” while anxiously tapping his foot. “Any wrong move could end in death, and you could be replaced within five seconds,” Tommy sneered as he watched the defeated gaze of this ‘acquaintance’.

“I’m aware,” The lanky boy muttered, fiddling with the hem of his jacket. Tommy nodded, and said, “Good. I need you to get me a few things, it’s not too hard for useless people like you, this time. Don’t fail it,” Tommy grinned, handing Ranboo a paper.

“Huh. This is a grocery list, Tommy,” Ranboo glanced up at the leaned back boy, confused. He turned the paper towards him to confirm it.

“I know. I’m out of groceries, and I can’t show my face to the public. I need you to run my errands,” Tommy rolled his eyes, and looked at Ranboo. He was suppressing a laugh. “Laugh as much as you want, bitch boy. At least people actually want me.”

Ranboo blinked at him, unamused. “That’s not always a good thing, Tommy. In this case, it’s not good. If you’re caught, you’ll get put in jail,” Ranboo concluded with a nod, moving towards the door carrying the grocery list.

“Keep it up, and you won’t get your pay!” Tommy shouted after him angrily, but Ranboo shrugged and closed the door, sighing to himself. He knocked on the door in a pattern, tap tap tap-tap tap, allowing him into the other hallway with the elevator.

He studied the list. It was normal food and shit, he could probably just get it at the nearest supermarket. Ranboo walked out of the building, and over to his parked car. He started the car and within no time he was exiting the parking lot.

He didn’t know when he’d have paid his debt to the blond. He just knew he owed him everything, for saving him. He had nothing, literally. The blond brought him into his home and let him have somewhere to sleep, for the price of his work.
