Chapter Text

Got Hurt At One Of The Things I am Good At

Brian was at the hospital, The doctor came in and told Brian that he hurt his foot and needed a cast on it.
Brian said "okay thank you."
The doctor said "you are welcome."
The nurse came in and put the cast on, Brian got his phone out to call Dom to see if he could have someone pick him up.
But when Dom answered the phone and said "sorry we are not taking in cars right now we can’t we are so busy and the store is also busy."
Brian said "does not that mean no one can get away for a little bit?"
Dom said "sorry babe but we can’t."
Brian said "okay, love you goodbye."
Dom said "love you to and goodbye."
They got off the phone.
The nurse asked "do you have anyone to take you home?"
Brian said "I will just call a taxi."
The nurse said "okay."
Brian called a taxi, By the time Brian got out to the front of the hospital the taxi was there. With the help of the taxi driver Brian got in, and told the taxi driver where he lives.

When Brian got home he paid and said "thank you."
The taxi driver said "you are welcome."
Brian got into the house and went and sat down on the couch, Mia got home first and saw that Brian had fallen asleep on the couch watching tv. She went up to him and woke him up.
Mia asked "what happened?"
Brian said "I will let you and everyone know what happened when they get home so i only have to say it once."
Mia said okay, well I will go get dinner started."
Brian said "okay."
Mia saw his prescription for pain killers had not been filled yet and asked "do you want me to go get it filled for you?."
Brian shouted "NO" then realized what he had done and said "sorry but no."
Mia went into the kitchen to start dinner.

What Brian didn’t know was Mia called Dom, Dom said the same thing he told Brian but not about the store.
Mia said "so that is why Brian didn’t ask for someone to bring him home with his foot in the cast."
Dom asked "what are you talking about?"
So Mia told Dom what just happened.
Dom said "we will be right there."
Mia said "okay bye love you."
Dom said "bye love you to."
Mia started on dinner. By the time Dom and everyone got home dinner was almost done. Dom ran into the living room and asked Brian "what happened?"
Brian was about to say I will let everyone get here first when everyone came and sat down so Brian said "I was working with a new person today because we got new people. And he said the q word you NEVER say that word for cops and firefighters. Well we needed to run after like five people, He got one to stop. And a few other cops got theirs as well, I got mine after I had to throw the person on the ground. When I got the person up I had hurt my foot and I didn’t know until I got to the car. So I called it in. There might be two bills coming in but I have to take it to work because I got hurt on the job."
He paused for a minute then said "while they put the cast on I called Dom but he said all of you were busy and could not get away so I called a taxi."

Chapter 2

Dom said "next time you get hurt and you need a ride you tell me."
Brian said "okay."
Dom asked, "How long are you having to stay home for?"
Brian was about to say something when his phone went of, he answered with "O'Conner"
Tanner said "hey it's me your boss"
Brian asked "what's up"
Tanner said "I heard that you got hurt today"
Brian said "yes"
Tanner said "okay, Where did you get hurt?"
Brian said "left foot"
Tanner said "you are on desk work until your foot is healer up"
Brian said "but the doctor wants me to rest up until my foot is heal up"
Tanner said "I don't care. You will do this because of what you did for Dom"
Brian said "fine"
They got off the phone.

Brian told everyone what was going on.
Dom said "that is stupid."
Brian said "if I had to save you all again I would."
Dom said "and we love you for that."
Mia asked "how come you don't want your prescription filled?"
Dom asked "what?"
Brian said "I just don't take medicine at all."
Mia asked "why?"
Brian said "fine! I am a cop and Some can get Addicted to pills and my childhood friends mom got addicted to pills. That is why I don't take medicine."
Everyone said "oh."
Brian asked "Is dinner done?"
Mia said "almost."

Chapter 3

Mia got up and went into the kitchen and yelled "dinner is ready."
Everyone got up and Dom could see the pain in Brian face. When they were at the table Dom asked "are you sure you don't want to take anything?"
Brian said "yeah I am sure."
Vince said grace, After grace was said they started to eat.
Brian had his leg high up to help his healing.
Jesse asked "how are you going to get to work?" Brian just shrugged.
Dom said "I will take you to work and Mia will pick you up."
Brian said "thank you."
Dom said "you are welcome."
After they got done eating they left the kitchen.

Dom and Mia were cleaning the dishes and Brian went up to lay down. Brian was almost asleep when his phone went off. Brian answered the phone and said "hey Roman what's up?"
Roman asked "can me and Tej come visit?"
Brian said "hold on."
Roman said "okay."
Brian went into the kitchen and said "Hey Dom, can one of my friends from childhood and one I had met in Miami come here?"
Dom said "yeah."
Brian said "thank you."
Dom said "you are welcome."
Brian told Roman "yeah you can."
Roman said "okay." They spent the rest of the call arranging their visit.

Chapter 3

After Brian and Roman got off the phone, Brian went to bed.
It was the next day, and Jesse asked, “Who are Roman and Tej?”
Brian said, “Roman is a childhood friend. And Tej is a guy that I met before coming here. I got Roman off of house arrest, which reminds me.”
Brian got up, went to his work bag, and got a picture out of Carter Verone. Dom got up, took the picture, and told Brian to sit down and ask someone to get it next time.
Brian sat down and said, “Okay.”
Dom sat down and passed the picture around the table.
Brian said, “If you see this guy ever run or call the cops or both.”
Vince asked, “Why.”
Brian told them what had happened.
Vince and Letty said, “Son of a bitch.”
Brian said, “Yeah.”
Dom said, “That is why you were kind of standoffish to be around me.”
Brian said, “That is one of the reasons why.”
Brian said before someone could say something, “I have not had a good childhood. The only good thing out of it was Roman. We had a problem, but we got over it.“
Mia asked, “So when you said that you had a friend’s mom who was doing drugs, it was your mom? “
Brian said, “Yes, that was my mom, not a friend’s.”
Mia asked, “What about your dad?”
Brian said, “I don’t know about him; he left; the only thing I know about him is that when I go undercover, I use his middle and last name; when he left, my mom changed our names from his last name to O’Conner, but kept our first names.”
Everyone said, “Oh.”
Brian said, “Yeah.”
Brian looked at the clock on the wall and said, “Come on, Dom, I got to go to work.”
Dom said, “Okay.”
They got up and went to the car.

Brian said, “Thank you.”
Dom said, “You are welcome.”
Dom got Brian to work; Brian got out.
Dom asked, “Do you need me to come in and help you?”
Brian said, “No, I am good.”
Dom said, “Okay.”
Brian said, “Goodbye.”
Dom said, “Goodbye.”
Brian said, “Love you.”
Dom said, “Love you too.”

Dom and Mia would pick up and drop Brian from work and home for a few weeks.

Chapter 5

On Monday, Dom took Brain to the hospital, where they took the cast off his leg and put on a boot for him. That day, Roman and Tej were waiting inside the house for Brian. Brian looked happy upon seeing his car and said, “Yes.”
Dom asked, “What?”
Brian said, “That is my car.”
Dom said, “Um, okay.”
Brian said, “I hit it with a pole one day.”
Dom said, “Okay, that is it; you should not drive again.”
Brian said, “What! And asked why?”
Dom said, “Well, first you drove your car on a boat, and now this.”
Brain said, “Hitting the pole was the first time. And that was not my fault.”
Dom asked, “How is it not your fault?”
Brian said, “Because the cops that I was working for. They forgot that I was working for them, and they were stopping people at a race.”
Dom said, “Oh.”
Brian said, “Yeah and they got yelled at by my boss and me, But I got the job done.”

Chapter Text

Chapter 6

While opening the house door, Dom said, “Fine, you can drive for now.”
Brian said, “Okay, thank you.”
Dom said, “You are welcome.”
Roman and Tej got up from the couch, and Brian went up to both of them and hugged them.
Roman said, “Good to see you again.”
Brian said, “You as well.”
After they pulled away, Tej asked, “What happened to your foot?”
Brian told Roman and Tej what happened.
Tej said, “Wow.”
Brian said, “Yeah.”
Roman said, “That is crazy.”
Brian said, “Yeah.”
Brian asked, “So, what is up?”
Roman said, “Here is your share of the money again.”
Dom asked, “What is this for?”
Brian said, “This is the money from the garage that Roman and I opened in Florida. Tej would help us out, and we would help him out as well.”
Roman said, “And also from the races I still do.”
Brian said, “That is good; just don’t get picked up.”
Roman said, “Yeah, we know, lol.”
Brian said, “Okay, good.”

Brian asked Dom, “Is there a race tonight?”
Dom said, “I will have to ask Hector to see if there is.”
Brian said, “Okay. If not, we could watch movies if you guys want to.”
Roman and Tej said, “Yeah, that would be great.”
Brian said, “Cool.”
Brian asked Tej, “How is Suki doing.”
Tej said, “She is doing good.”
Brian said, “That is good.”
Tej said, “She is happy that she can win some races without you.”
Brian was about to say something, but Leon said, “Brian, is that good?”
Roman said, “Yeah, when it comes to racing next to me, Brian is the best.”
Leon said, “Yeah, okay.”
Brian said, “I am really good, but I had to ensure Dom won when I came here with you guys. If Dom and I were to race just us, I might be able to win, but I NEVER want to find out.”
Leon said, “Oh.”

Chapter Text

Chapter 7

Brian said yeah. Leon ask can we see it? Brian said no. Leon asked why? Brian said because my foot and plus people could get mad at whoever won.

Leon said oh okay. Brian turn to Dom and said if you go to the race I am staying at home. Dom said okay. Brian asked Dom if he could put his money in the safe for now. Dom said yeah.

Brian asked Roman and Tej what they want to do right now. Roman said something to eat. Brian said yeah okay. Mia came in with some food. Brian said thank you.

Mia said you are welcome. Everyone started to eat and watch tv. A couple of hours later everyone but Brian. Brian was glad that everyone had left. Because he could cry a little bit.

Brian went up to his and Dom’s room. Once the door was shut Brian lay down with his foot up and started to cry. And he fell asleep while crying. It was dark inside when everyone got back. Like always Dom won.

Vince turn on the lights in the living room. Dom said I am going to check on Brian. Mia said me to. Dom turn on the hallway light. And open his door.

Dom could see Brian was crying. And he could guess it was from the pain that he was not trying to show his family that he have pain.
