When he wakes, it’s to the sound of a cleaning droid buzzing around outside his chamber doors, the low drone of the filtration system, and—something else. Shallow breaths, soft whimpers. Something pressed tight against his chest. Something warm, burning even. A warmth to mirror the heat still coursing through his own blood.
A shared heat. A shared mind. A shared dream.
He freezes where he lays, eyes closed and muscles pulled taut, reveling in the heat while he has it against his skin. Because whatever this is, it surely can’t be real. Rey can’t be here, with him. Not after nearly a year of silence in the Force. Not after what came to pass on Endor’s ocean moon.
