Zoro stared at the glowing form floating above the battle. The ground shook from the impacts of their enemies' bodies but Zoro paid them no mind. His entire being was focused on Luffy as he toyed with his opponents effortlessly, as if this were all a game.
Zoro felt someone walk up and stand beside him. He didn't have to turn to know it was the mad old man Vegapunk.
"What is he?" Zoro asked quietly, a small sound that was easily swallowed by the roars and explosions around them. Vegapunk heard him anyway and Zoro wasn't surprised when he answered as if they were discussing this in a lab instead of an active battlefield.
"The lad ate the mythological zoan type fruit of Nika the sun god. This is the awakened form." Zoro grunted a response to Vegapunk's grand reveal without removing his eye from Luffy. "Ah, yes." Vegapunk continued as if he could read Zoro's thoughts. He wouldn't put such a thing passed the old wizard, "The others filled me in on your feelings towards the gods." Zoro listened but he had no interest in further conversation. He continued instead to absorb Luffy's radiance and insanity. Vegapunk nodded in the most annoying way possible then continued, "Interesting that you who do not believe in the gods now loves one."
Zoro blinked but he didn't argue. There was no point. His eye darted to the scientist for a fraction of a second before returning to Luffy. What did it matter if the old man knew. Zoro only felt cool acceptance creeping through his body. He stepped forward to join Luffy, slipping Wado into his teeth as he did.
"I don't believe in gods, but for Luffy, I can worship."
