Work Text:
His brother is running, and running, and running. Into the field of sunflowers he goes, spinning, twirling, jumping and laughing. Michael doesn't understand.
He yells at him, and yells, and yells. Straining his voice he does, chasing after his brother as the field gets bigger, and bigger, and bigger.
Or, perhaps that's just Michael getting smaller, and smaller, and smaller.
Then, his brother halts. His giggling getting quieter, and quieter, and quieter. And then, he drops himself onto the field.
Michael gets closer, and closer, and closer, making out his brother's figure, but no face. Just dark, black emptiness.
And then, hes laughing again. Louder, and louder, and louder at Michael. A ridicule of some sort.
Suddenly he's falling
and falling...
and falling...
and falling...
And Michael comes down with him.
Except when they land, his brother is bleeding, and bleeding, and bleeding. Michael is fine. That isn't fair. It isn't right.
He whispers, " I'm sorry, " Before the flowers grow bigger around them, the laughter flooding into his brain.
