OPTIONAL - CHARACTER BACKGROUND
Hey all, this is some OPTIONAL character background to read through if you wish. I know that when I read fanfic I love knowing more about the “reader-character”, so if that’s something you’re interested in, read on below. Otherwise, feel free to just skip to the next chapter, where the story begins. Nothing in here is so crucial to the story that not knowing it immediately will ruin anything (and the important stuff will be explained in-story anyway); it just provides additional context about “your character.”
You are currently the Captain of Squad 3, just appointed the day before the madness begins. Because of this, there hasn’t been time for a ceremony of any kind yet.
Byakuya Kuchiki was not in the Seireitei at the time of your Captain’s trial; he was attending to urgent matters in the World of the Living.
Before being appointed, you were in the Onmitsukido (Stealth Force, Squad 2), but decided to leave and join Squad 5 as third-seat, where you met your now-friend Shinji Hirako.
In general, you give off blank and somewhat intimidating vibes, despite being a caring and loving person. No matter how hard you try to show that positive demeanor, eventually you default back to the blank slate. Not on purpose! It just happens, even when you think you’re being as expressive as possible. Almost like a reverse Unohana (but still with the effect that people are scared of you).
You avoid using your shikai and bankai unless necessary, because you feel like it’s best to be secretive about the full extent of one’s powers. Because of this, only a few people (outside of the few captains who judged your trial) know what it is and can do; most of them from the Onmitsukido.
