   Summary

   After 20 years in the Cohort, Gideon Nav had been discharged with honor from the Emperor’s service, as a Viceadmiral and decorated war hero. Finding her place in the civilan world had not been easy. As a soldier, she did what was expected of her, and miraculously managed not to die. Now alone, with no expectations and little purpose to her life, she found herself drifting back to the Ninth House.
