Work Text:

The first thing that ran through them was denial, seeing Shigaraki toss the Prime Minister out of office. The class had been watching some cable movie and happily chatting, but now it was silent outside of the tv showing Hawks and Lady Nagant dropping the current Commission President to his death and shooting the former on the roof of the HPSC Headquarters. Fumikage and Dark Shadow felt their heart stop.

Why was Hawks with her? Why had he betrayed hero society? How did they even get there without anyone stopping them? Where were the heroes? Why did he betray them?

Then they saw Dabi’s blue fire coating Endeavor’s body, outside at night. And remembered how Shoto tried to call him this morning to ask him about the next work study. These weren’t live. Who knows how long ago these happened...

Flashes of Tartarus were shown, how it had been emptied and refilled with guards and a long list of mostly low and mid-ranking heroes. But there were a few notable ones too… All three of The Lurkers, Selkie, Ms. Joke…

“As you can see your leaders and heroes have failed you. As of today, Japan is under the control of the Paranormal Liberation Front,” Shigaraki told the world, informing the country that all heroes, agencies and schools had 32, 24, and 72 hours respectfully, to report to them, before they had people sent after them.

Fumikage also realized something in that moment, it wasn’t safe for them to stay here, for Midoriya, Todoroki, Uraraka and likely Bakugou to stay here. All of them had received special attention from at least one of the key Front members. Despite how much UA, no class 1A fought the League, now the Front, they didn't go out of their way to attack them. But the five, six if you count Dark Shadow, had their attention, if the Front was going to go after anyone, it was them.

They needed to get out of here. It wasn't safe for them, and it sure as Hell wasn't safe for their classmates. Hearing their classmates' phones start ringing they got up and headed over to their room to pack and set up some messages to send after they were gone. They also needed to figure out what to tell the other targets, they couldn't, and wouldn't force them to go with them, but they would at least tell them. It would be best if they split into two groups so they weren't alone but would be harder to track.

Putting their phone down, they started packing a backpack, they'd need to get as much money out of an ATM once they left the school. But for now, they just needed to get clothes packed, figure out something for shelter, and stock up on non-perishables. Being a heteromorph severely limited where they could go, they'd be too noticeable in the cities, and the more rural an area the more discrimination they'd face. It also meant they couldn't just disguise themselves, having a bird's head ruled out anything like hair dye and sunglasses hiding their identity.

So they just have to avoid populated areas and keep moving. Not exactly easy, but it was something. With that put into consideration, it be best if Todoroki came with them, they were the most noticeable, and with their quirk, they'd be able to fight without weakening them and help keep Dark Shadow under control in emergencies. And the scar would cause them much the same, but not as many of the same problems with being recognized.

With it being early spring it was unlikely they'd need a long winter coat any time soon, but it could be used as a makeshift sleeping bag so they stuffed it into the bag. They'd have to pack a smaller bag for things like a first aid kit and cash, it would be a bad idea to use bank cards in case they used that to track them.

Biting their tongue they sent a text to the other likely targets to meet them at 9 in their room. That they needed to talk.

With a heavy heart, they went to bed, they'd need as much rest as they could get before leaving.

"So what exactly do you want to talk about?" Midoriya asks as the Uraraka sits down on his bed.

"The League and Front have never gone after our class specifically-"

"Like Hell, they haven't, are you forgetting they kidnapped me?!" Bakugou yells causing them to wince slightly.

"-Except for us, with the exception of us, Class 1A has just been in the way of a pre-existing goal, or we've gone after them,"

"So what are you saying?" Uraraka asks fiddling with her hands.

"I'm saying it's safer for everyone if we leave,"

"What? So we should just leave! When were you ever targeted by them? How do we know you're not the spy luring us into a trap!" Bakugou accuses, while Midoriya tries to calm him down.

"I was almost kidnapped by the League too, and I was Hawks' intern… now that he’s.… I'm not asking that you come with me, it would be better if we split up into two groups. I'm just informing you of my suspicions, and reasonings. I'm going to be leaving at 5 am, out the front entrance, if any of you want to join me, that's where I'll be, if you know of anyone else the league might target I suggest you warn them too,

“If they decide to go after us, for any reason, you know our classmates will defend us. With them having control over the government and commission, we all know it’s not going to end well. This is the first place they’ll look, I’m already packed, I just want everyone to be safe…”

Fumikage let them leave, crossing their fingers that they heed their warnings and at least not try to stop them.

They had to understand they were just trying to help.

Reaching the gate Tokoyami shifted nervously, they couldn't wait too long, Aizawa would be alerted and this would all be for not. It didn't look like anyone else was there, guess it would just be them.

“Wait, I’m coming with you,” it was Todoroki, he had a couple of bags, like themselves.

“Alright, we better go before the teachers realize, Dark Shadow’s going to fling me over, it would probably be best if that’s how you got over too,”

He nods, letting the quirk pick him up and toss them over.

“I’m planning on going to the train station and picking a random train to get on. Unless you can think of something better?...”

“Not really, do you have any ideas on how to go unnoticed?”

“I’m pretty limited having a heteromorphic quirk, but I’m going to try to keep to large hoodies, we should probably grab you some hair dye, and style your hair to cover your scar,”

He nods, as they start walking to the station, “I didn’t bring my phone or anything like that, but I did bring my dad’s credit card,”

“We should probably empty our cards before we get to the station, may I ask what made you decide to join me on this dark trek?”

“I called the hospital my mom is, was , at, someone had taken her out, and it wasn’t Natsuo or Fuyumi. The staff wouldn’t tell me who took her, but if it wasn’t done by Dabi, then it was for him…. I hope you’re right about them only wanting a select few…”

“I hope so too…”
