Ocean stood in the wearhouse, folding her arms over her chest as she starred at Jane. Why was this girl so.. familiar? It is the weirdest thing Ocean has had to think about.. possibly in her life. Why couldn't she figure out who this girl was? She obviously went to their school, and was at the fair with the rest of the choir.. so why couldn't Ocean place a face, or a name in that matter?
Ocean shook her head, deciding to swallow her fear and just talk to the blonde with the headless doll. Maybe she could get some awncers.
Ocean walked over to Jane, holding her hands together as she smiled "hi! Um.." she started, starring at Jane before shaking her head slightly "I just wanted to come over and talk to you!" She added on. Feeling herself shift uncomfortably when Jane just blankly starred at her "would you like to sit?" She asked, moving off to the side, Ocean had taken note of how beautiful Jane's voice was, gladly accepting her offer as she did. Taking a seat right beside her, Jane took this opportunity to get a better analysis of Ocean "you have lots of dots on your face an arms.. why is that?" She asked. Ocean shifted again, glancing at Jane "oh.. um they are called freckles! Lots of people have them, I just happen to have lots of them.." she chuckled slightly, rubbing then back of her neck. Jane then showed Ocean her arm "oh, that's what these are? Freck-les?" She questioned, glancing down at Ocean who starred at Jane's arm, who had finally noticed the bracelet around Jane's wrist. It was a warm yellow bracelet with red mixed into it.. and a small bird charm attatched to the side, a ray of emotions flooded Ocean, with lots of questions following. Ocean sure had made a bracelet for Constance but her best friend kept it on her bag, wanting to keep it in good condition and saying it would stay in better condition if she didn't wear it on her wrist.
A thought crossed her mind as she starred at Jane's arm. Could this be?.. No.. it couldn't. They had gotten into a fight earlier that morning, and Ocean would have seen her get on the roller coaster.. right?
Pre Rollercoaster Accident
Ocean tapped her foot, unamused about the prank her girlfriend decided to pull with Mischa on the judges. This was a provincial competition! And they decided to pull a silly prank- Ocean knew she'd need to have chat with her girlfriend, let her know that this would not fly.
"Hey freckles, you needed to talk with me?" A tall brunette asked, walking over and taking a seat, she was panting, clearly having just been finished at a game, whick was also evident from the big pink dolphin. "Oh! Before you go on about whatever you have on your mind, I won you that dolphin! You pointed it out earlier so I decided to go back and get it!" She said, smiling as Ocean starred at her, furrowing her brows "am I a joke to you Penny?" She asked, folding her arms over her chest. The question seemed to have caught Penny of guard, causing her to put the dolphin down "what? No of course not! I could never take you as a joke" she got closer to Ocean, placing a hand on her cheek, which Ocean shooed away. "Then what was that? The stupid prank you and Mischa decided to pull??" She asked, glaring at Penny. "It was a joke, and nothing bad happened if that's what-" . "It was embarrassing Penny. We could have gotten disqualified! And all that hard work would have been for nothing because you didn't think!" She argued. Penny starred at her, furrowing her brows slightly "What do you mean? Everyone laughed! People enjoyed themselves! And we didn't get disqualified, so I don't understand how I could have embarrassed someone" she said, gently reaching out for her girlfriends hand. Ocean smacked her hand away, refusing her comfort once again "Me! Penny. You embarrassed me!" Her voice raised a bit, and her face began to flush red.
Penny starred at her girlfriend, taking slight offense to her words. "Ocean.. I didn't mean to.. I'm sorry.." she started as Ocean glared at her "No! You always do this! You do something embarrassing and then seem so confused on why I am so upset! And it's always with the "I'm sorry" but you do the same thing over and over!" She was basically yelling at her now, and Penny just seemed to take more offense to her words. "Well it's not my fault you get embarrassed by people trying to have fun!" . "Oh of course it's not! Because god forbid I just want you to be mature once in your life and not be such an embarrassment to me!" she said, her face bright red as Penny stood, tears forming in her eyes. "if I embarrasse you that much.. then maybe we shouldn't be together anymore. You can go find a less embarrassing girlfriend" She yelled.
Ocean seemed shocked at this response, not expecting Penny to just end it. "Penny- Are you-" . "Breaking up with you? Yes I am.. oh sorry! was that not formal enough for you? Sorry.. let me try that again" she said, clearing her throat and placing her hand over her chest. "I Penny Lamb do here by declare that I am breaking up with my now ex girlfriend, Ocean O'Connell Rosenberg. May she find a less embarrassing and more mature girlfriend." She said, glaring down at Ocean and finally storming off, too angry to pick up the prize she won for Ocean.
Ocean stayed seated, watching Penny walk off. What did she expect? She and Penny had this argument alot.. it was only a matter of time before Ocean finally pushed her over the edge, and that day just had to be today. Ocean stood, grabbing the dolphin and walking off to find the rest of the choir then doing some things Constance wanted to do, like get her fortune read and eventually convincing the choir to ride the Cyclone.. Ocean hadn't noticed Penny get on the ride, she was to caught up in trying to focus on her best friend so she could cry about it later. And the fact she never noticed Penny get on the ride caused her to believe she might have left.. somehow avoided the accident all together.
Ocean starred at Jane, who was starring right back. "P.. Penny?" She asked, which confused Jane. Ocean suddenly cupped Jane's face, rubbing her thumb over the girl's porcelain cheek "Your name.. it's Penny" she said, beginning to choke on her words. She fucked up, she knew that.. she really hurt Penny and thought that she might have had a chance to just apologize for calling her an embarrassment. But now she couldn't, she was stuck in a room with a girl who is her girlfriend but isn't her Penny.. her sweet Penny, who now didn't have a head of her own. "Penny please.." she begged, this couldn't be how they end, Ocean had so much to say. So much to do still, to apologize to Penny.
Ocean gently kissed her head, which caused Jane to blink lots, confused at the affection she was suddenly getting, and Ocean just trying to see if a kiss would bring her back, somehow fix everything, so she gently placed a kiss on Jane's lips, her cold lips. Pulling back and looking up into that blank stare she was given, Ocean felt tears well in her eyes, as she quickly stood. Her face flushed from embarrassment and slight desperation "I'm sorry.. I need- I gotta go" she said, running off to hide in a corner as tears fell. She crouched down and covered her face, sobbing quietly into her hands.
She had messed everything up.
Eventually it was time to pick who would be brought back, Ocean had gone through an entire speach, wanting to her point across as she picked Jane. She didn't have memories, and Ocean wanted her to be able to at least go on and live a happy life.. even if Ocean wouldn't be in it with her. The others seemed to agree with Ocean's choice, all coming up to unanimously vote. Ocean couldn't bring herself to look at Jane as Karnak read out who she was, that was until she felt a warm hand grab her wrist, and turn her around. She was now face to face with the girl she hurt, just before the horrible accident. "Penny.. I- I am so sorry! I didn't mean anything I said, your not an embarrassment to me you're-" she was abruptly cut off by Penny, who gently kissed her, cupping her face as tears sprung from the gingers eyes, she then closed them, she kissed her girlfriend back and wrapped her arms around her.
Penny eventually pulled away, looking at Ocean as she smiled "I know.. you say alot of stupid stuff.. and I know I don't have much time.. but I needed one more kiss before I go.. and we don't see eachother again for awhile.." she said, tears spilled from her own eyes as Ocean let out a small sob "Penny... I'm so sorry things happened this way.. I.. I love you so much" she cried as Penny smiled, pressing their heads together "I know, I am sorry too.." she said, gently kissing Ocean's forehead "I love you too.." She stated, honestly as the words sent a warm sensation into Ocean's stomach as she gently whipped Penny's tears. "Don't forget me.. please" she begged. Penny nodded "I couldn't forget you even if I wanted, Ocean O'Connell Rosenberg.." she smiled softly, kissing her lips once more before finally pulling away, leaving Ocean once again.
Ocean tried to keep it together, but her legs began to buckle against her will as crumbled to her knees, gripping her arms as she let out a sob, her heart feeling like it had been shattered into a million pieces. Her head hung low as arms wrapped themselves around her. Mischa had pulled her into a hug and he understood her pain, he knew how hurt she was as Constance hugged her friend and the rest of the choir began to offer their comfort to her, watching Penny's life go on in the meantime.
A thought crossed Ocean's mind as she stayed on the ground, still trying to gather herself.
At least she got one more kiss before they said their final adieu's.
