Summary
After Idril and Tuor get married, King Turgon decides to reestablish his long alliance with the elven kingdom of Nargothrond through a political marriage between Princess Finduilas and one of the Lords of the Twelve Houses of Gondolin. The fates of both kingdoms are sealed when he chooses the Lord of the Mole, his nephew Maeglin, to honor the alliance.
Bitter, vengeful and heartbroken, Maeglin journeys into Nargothrond ready to bring hell to everyone he deems responsible for all his failed plans, including Finduilas. All he wants is to find a way to go back to Gondolin and to get Tuor out of his way for good, which he can only do if he finds a way to break the alliance before his courtship of Finduilas finally leads to the day of their wedding.
With the curse of the Noldor and the forces of Angband still at play, is Maeglin going to be their salvation or their damnation?
