1989

Jotaro walked along the steep stairs of the garden. Flowers of every kind imaginable surrounded him. The aroma overwhelmed him. He had no idea if what he was seeing was real or a dream. He could've sworn it was all over. Dio was dead and in return he was faced with the death of Avdol, Iggy, and Kakyoin. Kakyoin's passing was that always lingered around him. His mind always thought if he had the chance to go back in time, he would've rather died then Kakyoin. Kakyoin was only 17. He would have to live with the guilt of their deaths for the rest of entirety. Jotaro's feet paused as he reached the end of the stairs only to find himself nearly touching the clouds. It looked like heaven. The sky was a deep shade of vibrant blue and the grass grew greener here than anywhere on earth. He turned around only to realize how high up he was. The ground seemed almost nonexistent and blurry. As he walked around he noticed right in the middle of the garden there grew a set of lively yellow flowers. The flowers caught his eye more than the others due to the fact they were all alone in with no other flower surrounding it.

"They're called Chrysanthemums," said a familiar voice behind him, "they're beautiful, don't you think?"

Jotaro almost turned around when he felt hands on his back holding him in place.

"No need to turn around. It would hurt you seeing me like this." said the voice.

Jotaro's breath stopped as his mind realized who was talking. He forcefully moved his head to the side trying to see the other's face but the hands again stopped him. He could only catch a glimpse of the intimate cherry red earrings.

"Kakyoin?? How is this possible?? You should be dead?!??" Jotaro fumed. His head hurt and he couldn't comprehend what was happening.

"The sky looks so alluring today, though I wish this garden had cherry blossoms. I'm very fond I am of them. Did you know that?" said the other man ignoring his questions.

"What..." Jotaro whispered, "I'm so confused."

"Of course you are. It's understandable."

"Kakyoin..am I dreaming? Are you real?"

No response.

"I miss you." Jotaro said softly not caring whether if the voice was real or not.

"And so do I," the voice paused. "I always will."

"There is so much I wanted to tell you," Jotaro expressed.

"One day.......we will talk. We'll talk so much that our mouths will hurt and out voices will become raspy," Kakyoin told him, "but that day is not now."

Jotaro chuckled but then the chuckles turned into to swallowed up sobs. "What do you mean one day? Can't that be now??"

"You always have so many questions for a man who doesn't speak much. That's what I love about you." Kakyoin exclaimed.

"I love everything about you." Jotaro stated.

The voice was silent for a long time. Jotaro felt the hands slipping something into his palm.

"Goodbye Jotaro." whispered the voice into his hear.

Jotaro could feel the touch of the hands on his back disappearing, and he wasn't being held in place anymore. He turned around to find nothing but the vivid skies staring back at him.

That's when he woke up. He glanced around to find himself in his bedroom in Japan. It seemed as if everything had been a dream. But right in the middle of Jotaro's palm laid a single lone Chrysanthemum flower.

22 years later, 2011

Jotaro noticed how alluring and beautiful the sea looked in his final moments. Something stood out in the blue of the sea that caught his eye.

It was two single Chrysanthemum petals drifting along the waves.

Notes:

The Chrysanthemum flower from the family of Asteraceae has several different meanings.
In East Asia it represents wealth, a long life, royalty, etc.
In Europe it symbolizes death.
