Chapter Text

Ava's POV - 12 yrs old

I woke up to a punch in my stomach. I shot out of my slumber and saw my foster dad standing over me.

"Get up, your alarm has been going off for 10 minutes." He said before he left

I got up and stretched my limbs, I wince at the dark bruises. I crawl out of bed and put on my school uniform then put on bandages and concealer. I quietly made my way down the stairs and grabbed a granola bar from the kitchen. Thankfully my foster parents were busy or else I would've been in trouble for sneaking food.

I made my way out the door and started walking to the bus stop. I kicked a few pebbles and rock out my way as I saw the bus leave.

"Hey wait!" I ran after the bus but it was useless

I then trip over a rock and feel, pain instantly shot up through my body. I look to see my knee all bloody, most people would freak out at the sight of blood but I'm used to it. I was mostly annoyed at the pain and blood, now my uniform was covered in dirt and had a few rips in it. I got up off the ground and kicked the grass in frustration, leaving it a dirt pile when I'm done.

'Great, guess I'm walking.' I thought to myself

I put on my pink headphones and put on Spotify as I walked to school. As the school came into sight, I ducked into an abandoned alley. I chanted a spell to heal my knee and fix my uniform.

"Heal." My knee and uniform glowed bright pink for a moment before it faded, leaving behind a healed knee and a brand new uniform

I step out of the alley a little drowsy. I heard the late bell ring and I ran, not wanting to get in trouble for being late. I made it to my class where my teacher glared at me.

"Miss Ava, your late."

"I'm sorry Mrs. Karen, I-" I tried to explain but she cut me off

"I don't want to hear it, detention after school."

"But-" My foster parents would kill me if I had detention

"Do not talk back to me! I will not tolerate this kind of behavior! Do I need to call your parents?"

"N-No ma'am."

"Good, now go to your seat before I change my mind." I walked to my seat with my head down, all the other kids were laughing at me

I sat at my desk and put my head down, I secretly put my air pods in while Mrs. Karen was teaching us useless stuff. I put on some music while I tried to calm my mind, was I going to be punished badly for getting detention? I didn't realize I had spaced out so much until the lunch bell snapped me out of my thoughts.

I quickly grabbed my stuff and rushed out the door. I look in my bag, hoping to see a packed lunch for me, but to my disappointment there wasn't. Of course they didn't pack me a lunch or give me any lunch money either. I guess I can hide out in an empty classroom or on the roof until lunch it over.

"Hey look, it's the foster witch." Oh no, I know that voice

I sped up my pace but 2 two girls grabbed my arms and held them in place. The leader of the group, Taylor (I apologize to all the Taylors reading this), ordered another girl dumped out my bag and another on was searching through what fell out.

A small book fell out of my bag and Taylor grabbed it and grinned.

'Nonononono they can't read that!' I thought as I started thrashing

"Well what do we have here?" Taylor said out loud

"Maybe it's her diary." The girl was holding my arm too tightly

'Oww, that hurts!' She was grabbing where some of my bruises were

"Let's see" Taylor opened the book

The girls holding my arms kicked me to my knees while Taylor started reading out loud.

"March 3rd, I got in trouble at school today again. Taylor and her friends walked up to me during break and they found out I was a foster kid. Taylor made fun of me for being an orphan amd how my parents didn't love me. When she said my bio mom abandoned me, I just snapped. I jumped on her and kept hitting her, her friends tried to pull me off of her but I was just so angry at everyone at the moment. When I got to the office, the vice principal kept yelling and ranting to my foster parents about how I was a 'delinquent' and I should be shipped off to 'boarding school' that would 'straighten me out'. Thank god the principle liked me a bit more than the vice principal. Instead of boarding school, he said that I'll have a 3 week suspension to 'think about what I have done '. I really think boarding school would've been better because as soon I got home, I was beaten up and locked in the basement for 3 weeks with no food or water. I hate them. I hate Taylor and her friends. I hate them. I HATE THEM. I HATE THEM!"

Taylor noticed the dried tear stains and the blood stains on the page and grinned to me maliciously.

"Cutting, really? Are you depressed or something? Either stop being so weak or..." Taylor grabbed my chin, making me look her in the eyes

"Just die already. It's not like any will miss you." She let go of me and walked with her friends following her

They all laughed when they walked away but their laughter was drowned out by what Taylor said to me.

Just die already. It's not like any will miss you.

My breathe quickened, I was hyperventilating. I wanted to go, I NEEDED to go somewhere. Anywhere but here.

My legs moved on their own and soon I was running. I didn't know where, I just needed to go. I ran into an empty classroom, I put myself in a corner and pulled my knees to my chest. I tried to breathe but what Taylor said still repeated in my mind. I just wanted it to stop.

I felt my bright pink eyes fill with tears. I pulled my hair to drown out her voice. I slammed my head against the wall, over and over again. Anything to drown out what Taylor said. I kept going until I felt a warm liquid on my forehead. I wiped it and saw that it was blood. Black dots danced around my vision and felt like I was going to collapse. Then I fainted.

I slowly got my vision back when I woke up. The classroom I was in was dark and the air was cold. I pushed myselfup and checked my phone, it read 11:49 PM. There were so many missed calls and messages from my foster parents, they were furious. They might actually kill me.

I ran out of the classroom and out of the school, I didn't stop until I was back at the house. I got on to the porch and caught my breath, I silently prayed that I would survive this. I quietly opened the front door, hoping that they were asleep or not here.

As soon as I opened the door, a beer bottle was immediately thrown to my head and I fell to the floor. My foster dad marched right up to me and harshly picked me off the floor. I could smell the alcohol on his breath, he was drunk.

"WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU?!" He grabbed me by the collar and screamed at me

"I-I lost track of time, sir..." I lied, I had to lie to save myself

"LIES! WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT LYING TO ME?!" He screamed at me

"T-To not to." He saw right through my lie, I was terrified for my life now

"Then I guess I have to teach you again."He said calmly, which terrified me

He dragged me by the collor towards the the basement, which freaked me out more than I already was.

"N-No please! I swear I'll never be late again! I'll just-"

"SHUT UP!" He hit me across the face which reopened the gash on my forehead a bit, which dazed me

He dragged me to the top of the basement stairs and threw me down them. When I opened my eyes, I saw all the torture devices and instinctively jumped back into the wall. My foster dad then grabbed a whip and whipped me across my legs.

A scream erupted out of my throat but he kicked me to the ground and whipped my back so I suppressed it the best I could, pained whimpers escaped from my lips as he continued torture me.

After a while, he put the whip down and went upstairs. I heard the door lock behind him and I realized I was stuck down here until I could regain some energy to do magic.

The coldness of the basement made me shiver much, the darkness didn't help much either. My stomach grumbled, I was so hungry and all I had today was the granola bar from this morning.

Either from the blood loss or lack of energy, the darkness took me again.

When I woke up, I was greeted to the coldness of the basement. I tried to get up but my legs were still to weak. I fell to the ground and stayed there for a bit to regain some strength. I slowly crept up the stairs using the railing to support me. I used my magic to unlock the door and walked out of the basement.

I walked to the kitchen and drank some water. I read the kitchen clock, it said 4:09 AM.

I climb up the second flight of stairs and into the bathroom. I took of my bloody school uniform and climbed into the shower. I turned on the water and hissed in pain immediately as the water hit my cuts. I washed my hair with shampoo and conditioner which also got into my cuts which made the pain even worse.

I stepped out of the shower and disinfected and bandaged my cuts amd took some painkillers. I put some pj's on and crawled into my poor quality bed and fell asleep.

I woke up to the sound of arguing, other people would be scared but this was normal for me. I walked through the kitchen where my foster parents didn't notice me and just kept screaming at each other. I just kept walking until I was at the bus stop.

Part of me didn't want to go to school today and the restof me agreed. So when the bus arrived, I left. I kept walking, I didn't know where I was going but something told me not to go.

I walked around town and sat down on a bench at the park. I was still tired from last night so I put my knees to my chest and fell asleep.

When I woke up, the sky was orange and pink. It must have been hours. I didn't want to go back to the house since my foster parents would be there and they probably knew I skipped school and would probably have a punishment waiting for me. I kept walking on the sidewalk when I bummed into a couple, I fell and landed on my rump.

"Oh I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there. Are you alright?" One of them extended a hand to help me

I started getting flashbacks of previous abuse and flinched away violently and the couple noticed it.

"I'msorry! I'msorry! I'msorry!" I repeated frantically

I couldn't control body, I was shaking like crazy. My mind was plauged by previous abuse. I had to get out of there, I shot up and ran the opposite direction. The couple yelled and ran after me. I didn't stop until my abused legs gave out, blood seeped through the bandages I on.

I curled into a ball to prepare myself from being hit. The couple finally caught up to me and stopped when they saw the state I was in. My breath quickened and I was hyperventilating. A hand touched my shoulder and I tensed, I thought I was going to be hit again. To my surprise, the touch was gentle and I heard soft words.

"It's ok. Just breathe. In and out." The blonde on said calmly

After a while, I managed to calm down. The blonde helped he through my panic attack and the white haired one helped me with my bandages.

"There you go sweetie, your all fixed up. Now we can get you to your parents-"

"No I don't want to go back! Please don't make go back! They'll hurt me again." I begged them with tears in my eyes, if I would go back now I would surely die

The two looked at each other then at me, they had an unfamiliar look in their eye's, concern?

"My name is Devon and this is my husband Andrew. How would you like to come with us?" The blonde held his hand out

I looked at it for a while before I took it. All my fear and anxiety had left in almost an instant. For the first time in a long time, I actually felt safe.

Chapter Text

10 years later

On Daemos

Lady Grandma stood in front of the portal, it's dark blue and purple like shards gave it a beautiful majestic feeling.

"E-arth..." Lady Grandma said breathlessly, Earth was beautiful

"It's beautiful..." Noi said

"E-arth... It shall be mine." Asch said before walking into the portal

"Rhys, your the smartest one out of all of them. Keep an eye on my grandson and make sure he's safe, will you?" Lady Grandma asked her pupil

"I'll do my best Lady Grandma." Rhys said, a small blush appeared across his face

He stepped into the portal, Lady Grandma watched as her grandson and his comrades step into the strange new world. A shadow appeared near her feet, it's eyes glowed lilac.

"Keep an eye on him and his comrades. Go!" She commanded

The shadow scrambled into the portal, closing it as it went through.

"I pray to the gods, watch over them."

Ava woke up to the sound of her alarm. She grumbled as she got up and shut it off, she then snuggled under the covers and went back to sleep. Ten minutes later, her alarm went off again. Ava sighed with great annoyance and turned it off. After two more alarms, Ava shut off her phone. Johnny, her familiar, jumped onto her body which made her shoot up.

"Oww you stupid cat, but I love you anyways." Ava petted her familiar

Ava jumped out of her bed and stretched her stiff muscles and took a shower. After her shower, Ava got dressed in a pale pink sweatshirt that revealed her shoulders, black shorts, and pink and black leggings.

Ava's stomach growled as she made her wat to the kitchen for some breakfast, only to find out that she was out of food. "Ah man, I'm out of Munchie-Scrunchie's to eat."

Johnny meowed in hunger and scooted his bowl in front of his mistress, showing it was empty.

"Oh no, we're out of Yum-Yum's for you too. Good thing it's grocery shopping day, but for the meantime..."

Ava put a piece of leftover pizza in Johnny's food bowl. Johnny looked at his mistress in confusion.

"Sorry Johnny but that's all I can find. I'll get you to bag's of Yum-Yum's so we won't run out as quickly and I'll even get you some treats." Ava promised

Johnny meowed at delight, two bags of Yum-Yum's and his favorite treats!

"Oh shoot, I forgot it's trash day." Ava hurriedly got the trash bag

"Johnny, just try the pizza. It's got tomatoes on it which means it healthy. Ok now, see ya Johnny!" Ava opened the door only to see her landlord Jake

"J-Jake!" Ava yelled in surprise

"A-Ava! I'm here to collect monthly rent and..." Jake trailed off, he was blushing madly

"Why is it that I'm the only attendant you personally askrent for?" Ava asked

"W-Well I wanted to-" Jake was cut off by Johnny meowing at him

"Well I gotta go, it's trash day. See ya." Ava said as she left

Johnny followed his mistress to make sure she wasn't harmed, he felt like something was going to happen.

"So this is E-arth..." Asch looked around the alleyway

The other Daemos looked around, in awe of the strange new world they were in.

"It's..." Asch was cut off by Noi's pained scream

"Ahhhh burning!" Noi screamed in pain

"What's wrong?!" Leif asked panickly

"My skin feels like it's on fire!" Noi screamed

"Hang on, I'll can..." Leif tried to move but he found it difficult to breathe

"Th-The air..." Pierce said weakly

"I didn't expect the environment to effect us so much..." Rhys said in pain

"Shadows..." Noi collapsed on his knees and weakly crawled to the shade

"What's... happening?" Asch gasped out

"The air has a toxicity to it..." Rhys heaved

"Stay calm..." Pierce instructed

"Wise advice Pierce, the effect is going down slowly." Rhys could breath a little easier

*Thud*

Asch, Rhys, Leif, and Pierce turned to see that Noi had collapse

"NOI!" Leif shouted

Rhys tried to get to him but stumbled to his knees.

"We... need... to... heal... Noi!" Leif tried to move

"It's hard to move!" Rhys yelled

Ava was just finishing taking the trash out when she saw what she thought were five cosplayer's. Their costumes looked so cool and their horns looked so realistic! But they look lost for some reason.

"Uhmm hello, are you guys ok?" Ava asked them

They only stared at her in response, which mad her uncomfortable.

"Crap, it's a human!"

"It's got us cornered!"

"Don't show weakness!"

"We can barely move!"

"Hold your stances."

Ava heard them whispering among each other. "Umm are you sure your all already because I can-"

Ava noticed one of them on the ground, unmoving.

"Oh my god, are you ok?!" Ava ran to them and kneeled beside them

"It's touching Noi!" Ava heard the one in green said

Ava knelt beside them and got a better view of them. They had salmon pink hair, radiant pale skin, and orange horn coming out of his head. Their clothes showed his lean body. Ava pressed her fingers to his neck, their heart was still beating but he wasn't breathing.

"Your friend isn't breathing!" Ava yelled at the others

Ava didn't wait for a response and started doing chest compressions. When that wasn't working, Ava did mouth to mouth which made the other's panic.

"She's going to kill Noi!" Rhys said

"We have to stop her!" Leif pulled out his blades

Noi then coughed and woke up.

Noi's POV

The air on E-arth was so painful. My skin felt like it was on fire and it was hard to breathe. I remember collapsing and waking up, the burning and difficulty breathing was almost gone.

"Hey are you ok?" A feminine voice asked me

I sat up to see a human female in front of me. She had raven black hair and pink eyes that were filled with concern and worry. I couldn't think properly, I was captivated by her beauty.

Leif hit her on the back of her head with the handle of his blades. The human female went limp and fell over me. There was a hiss and we turned to see a spirit.

"A spirit, here?" Rhys thought out loud

Then the spirit began to glow and was no longer it's small size, it grew to the size of a panther. Bright blue markings appeared and glowed throughout it's body and it's fur turned a light blue that was almost white with its fur fading into purple at the tail. It glowing white eyes looked at us before focusing on the unconscious human.

"Does the spirit belong to the human?" Pierce asked out loud

No one moved at the spirit grabbed the human by her clothes and set her on it's back. It growled at us before motioning us to follow it.

"We have to follow, it could lead us somewhere important." Rhys ordered

No One's POV

Johnny, still in his panther form, carried Ava and lead the daemos back to the apartment. His mistress had helped the orange one so he followed his mistresses example. Besides, he could sense that they mean no real harm.

When they got to the apartment, Johnny set Ava on the couch. While he was attending to his mistress, the daemos explored the apartment.

"The spirit has allowed us to enter it's home." Asch said

Johnny, who had transformed into his house cat form, went towards Noi. Out of all the daemos, he had the least hostility and Johnny had decided to trust him.

"The spirit likes me." Noi whispered

Johnny then pulled Noi by his sleeves and dragged him to Ava, who was still unconscious.

"It seems that the spirit has entrusted Noi to watch over the human." Pierce said

Johnny sat Noi down next to Ava. Noi, who was at awe that a spirit chose him for a task, watched Ava closely while also looking at his surroundings.

While Noi was watching over Ava, the other's explored the rest of her apartment. Rhys and Asch found opened the door that lead to Ava's room. The light were of and sunlight peeked through the curtains to allow lighting. There were symbols on the wall and talisman hanging from the ceiling. Various different colors of crystals were all over the room and there were books on the desk with symbols on the covers.

"Prince Asch... these symbols are similar to what Lady Grandma uses with her magic." Rhys said to the prince

"The human must be so powerful. To imprison such warriors in it's walls." Asch examined the posters on Ava's walls

"But how did a human aquire such powerful magic?" Rhys asked

With Noi, Ava stired awake. Noi didn't notice because he was petting Johnny. Ava shot upand climb over the couch, running towards the door.

"The human is escaping!" Noi yelled

Ava almost made it to the door but Leif blocked it and brought out his knives, which frightened Ava and made her run the other way. She crashed into Pierce, who grabbed her by the arms and lifted her up. Ava tried to thrash and squirm out of his grip but he didn't falter. He dragged her back to the living room where the other daemons were.

"It's alright, we're not going to hurt you. We come in peace." Rhys tried to calm her down but to no prevail

"She may not be able to hear you. She's in a state of panic, her chest is beating uncontrollably. I can feel that she is having difficulty breathing." Pierce said

Ava's body was growing weak from her panic attack but she still fought Pierce's grip. She didn't stop until she felt a gentle hand on her shoulder.

"It's ok, we mean you no harm. We just wish to talk." Rhys said gently

Ava visibly calmed down and stopped thrashing, Pierce let her down and patted her on the head.

"Um not to be rude but what are you guys? You don't sense human." Ava said, her voice raspy

"We are daemos from a world called Daemos. I am Rhys and these are my comrades Pierce, Leif, Noi, and Prince Asch. The future king of Daemos. We have come to your world to seek refuge from a terrible monster that has invaded our world, we came to see if your world was suitable to move our people."

"So would a powerful sorceress such as yourself let us stay here as we learn more about your world?" Rhys got on one knee and bowed, then the other daemos followed

Ava stood still for a moment before she excused herself to the other room.

"She's going into the death room." Pierce commented

"Why is she going in there?" Leif asked

"Perhaps she wishes to communicate." Rhys guessed

"But what if she alerts other humans?" Asch said

"Patience your Majesty, we must give trust before we can earn it ourselves." Rhys said

In the bathroom, Ava splashed water on her face. She looked in the mirror to see if she was dreaming or not.

"This cannot be happening, there's no way that they are demons or daemos whatever they call themselves. But they don't sense human and I can't sense any lies except when they said a monster invaded their home." Ava thought out loud

Ava peaked through the door to see that the daemos were still there. She quickly closed the door and collected her thoughts.

"Ok option one is that I kick them out and let them fend for themselves, option two is that I let them stay and teach them about earth."

"..."

Ava groaned. "I'm gonna regret this, aren't I?"

"Ok I have decided to let you stay. But if your going to stay, we are going to have some ground rules." Ava said

"As our prisoner, you don't make the rules." Asch said

"If your gonna stay here, you follow my rules. Rule one, you can't enter my room unless you knocked and I let you in. Rule two, contribute. I don't wanna have to pick up after grown men. And rule three, don't sneak up on me. I have panic attacks."

"What are 'panic attacks'?" Rhys asked

"I don't want to talk about it, it's been a long day and it's getting late. I have stuff to do tomorrow." Ava went into the kitchen and brought out her herbal tea

She brought out her chamomile tea, one of her favorites. She brought out her tea kettle and poured water in it, then she placed it on the burner and turned it on.

"What are you making?" Rhys asked

"Chamomile tea." Ava replied

"Why?"

"It's a remedy that can relieve stress and relax the body. Today was stressful, we could use it to unwind. And it's also one of my favorites." Ava explained

"Why are you making it for us?" Asch asked

"Why not? I don't need a reason to be kind." Ava said simply, shocking the others

The kettle was done and she poured the tea into separate cups, the steam spread the scent in the air.

"Wow, it smells amazing." Noi said

Ava blushed a bit at the praise, she finished pouring the tea and the daemos took a sip. They all sat in silence as they savored the tea, they had never tasted anything so sweet and their bodies did feel more relaxed.

Ava went into the closet and grabbed some blankets for the daemos incase they might get cold. Once they settled down for the night, Ava said her goodnights.

"Goodnight." She said softly

"Goodnight." Noi said back, the other hummed in response

Ava put on her pj's and crawled into bed next to Johnny, who curled beside her.

"Did I make the right choice by letting them stay here Johnny?" Ava asked her familiar

Johnny just meowed and closed his eyes, his feline body purred as he went to sleep.

"I pray to the gods that I made the right choice." Ava saod as her eyes started to feel heavy

Not long after, Ava soon slipped into slumber. Her worries vanished and her soul grew lighter.

Chapter Text

The sun rose apon the city, all the inhabitants were still in their slumber. However, one daemos was wide awake.

Asch grabbed a dagger from a sleeping Noi and made his way to Ava's room. He raised the dagger, about to land the killing blow when Rhys and Noi stopped him.

"Prince Asch, what are you doing?" Rhys whispered, avoiding waking Ava up

"Killing the human sorceress before she can kill us." Asch responsed

"I don't think she will kill us, she had multiple chances when we were vulnerable sleeping. And besides, she seems kind." Noi said

"Noi is right, you said so yourself that the human sorceress was powerful. She could have killed at at any time but didn't." Rhys added

Ava began to stir awake from all the talking, her body began to shift which made the demons panick.

"She's gonna wake up, she's gonna kill us!" Noi whisper shouted

"You said she seemed kind!" Rhys whisper shouted at Noi

"But she also said not to enter her chambers without permission!" Noi whisper shouted back

Ava groaned and opened her eyes slightly. Asch and Rhys panicked and Noi took action. He walked up to her and began patting her head.

"It's ok, go back to sleep." Noi said softly and sweetly

His head patts relaxed her body and her eyes closed back up, her soft snores left her body. The daemons let out a breath and sighed in relief. "Good job Noi. Your Majesty, let's leave before she wakes up again."

Rhys dragged Asch out of the room while Noi followed.

"Ok today I have decided to introduce you guys to the mall!" Ava said

"What is a 'mall'?"

"Can I kill it?"

"No. A mall is a place where humans buy stuff, sometimes for food or entertainment and other stuff." Ava explained

"Fascinating." Rhys said

"We need to get you guys some clothes if your gonna stay here." Ava said

"Is what we're wearing not suitable?" Rhys asked

"For this weekend, yes. You see, you may have noticed some mythical creatures. Those are human dressed up for the anime convention that's happening this weekend?" Ava explained

"Why do humans dress up like that?" Leif asked

"Because it's fun, now let's get moving."

Timeskip

"Ta da! We're at the mall!" Ava exclaimed, showing the huge building they were in

"Woah, it's so cool!" Noi said

"It's as big as a castle." Rhys said

"Now first off we need-"

"AVA!" A feminine voice yelled and ran to Ava

The daemons saw another human female but with brown hair and blue eyes hugging Ava. She was dressed in a maid outfit with blue to match her eyes.

'So that's her name, Ava. It's suits her.' Noi thought

"What are you doing here? I thought you had plans-WAIT who are they?" Lorelai gestured the daemos

"Who are these hot guys? Is one of them your boyfriend~?" Lorelai asked Ava, who blushed

"N-No! These are my... friends! Yes my friends. They were in town for the anime convention so I let them stay with me but they lost their luggage so I'm buying them some clothes." Ava lied

"Oh! Why didn't you say so? I can help you pick out some clothes, I know the perfect place!" Lorelai took them to the shop

The daemons wandered the store, examining the human clothes. After they were paid for, Lorelai said her goodbyes and left.

"So now we have the human clothes, now what?"

"Now we get food, I was supposed to get it yesterdaybut you guys came so I had to wait." Ava said as her stomach growled

The daemons followed Ava into the grocery store, Ava grabbed a cart and started wondering the isles. Ava grabbed some food and put it in the cart, grabbing more than usual for the daemos.

"You guys have any allergies or preferences?" Ava asked them

"No we have never tried human food before, we're curious." Rhys said

After getting what she needed, Ava paid and loaded the groceries into her car. The daemons watched as she loaded into the strange 'chariot'. When Ava started the ignition, the daemons panicked and thought the car was alive. Ava had to explain to them that it wasn't alive and the car was just a quicker mode of transportation.

When they got back to the apartment, Ava was exhausted. She gave instructions of where to put what where before she collapsed onto the couch.

"The human sorceress must have been exhausted after today. Noi, take her to her chambers." Rhys said

Noi hesitated before he put his arms underneath her knees and back, carrying her bridal style. She was lighter than he thought, maybe from being so small?

Noi opened the door to her room and placed her on the bed. Noi pulled the covers over her body, he smiled when she saw that she was comfortable.

A blush formed on his face when he saw Ava clearly, he had never seen a human so beautiful. Especially not one as captivating and enchanting as Ava. Her beauty could rival the most beautiful daemos in his world. He gently moved her hair out of her face, she looked so peaceful.

"Goodnight Ava." Noi said before he left

Chapter Text

Ava laid down in the bathtub, letting the warm waters relax her small body. She played with the bubbles she had put in and turned to her familiar. "Enjoying your face mask Johnny?"

Johnny meowed to his mistress in response, Ava let out a sigh of relaxation.

"Those horny guys have been quiet." Ava commented

Johnny meowed at his mistresses choice of wording ashe was engaging in a conversation with her. "Horned guys, you know what I mean."

"Wait are you actually talking to me or am I just pretending to have a conversation with you because of I can't talk to anyone else but Lorelai or my dads normally because of my social anxiety?" Ava asked Johnny

Johnny looked at Ava for a moment before he gave himself a bath, Ava sighed and petted him. "Even though, thanks for listening Johnny. You're the best familiar a mage or witch or whatever could ask for."

Ava laid back down in the tub, she used her magic to warm the waters again and relaxation overcame her. She was so relaxed that she didn't notice Leif phasing through the wall. "Hey human, we need your help to figure out- what are you doing?"

"Taking a bath." Ava said simply, her brain not yet processing what was happening

"Leif, what are you- wait what is she doing?" Asch came through the wall

Ava's eye's snapped open, she finally proceeded what was happening. She instinctively covered herself with her arms.

"W-What are you doing in here?!" Ava's face was red as a tomato

The two daemos ignored her question and Leif answered Asch's question. "I was going to ask the human sorceress to help us get in to the human clothes."

"Didn't Rhys figure it out?"

"Yeah but he's being smug about it and won't tell us."

"Get out!" Ava yelled

"That doesn't explain why the human is just sitting in water."

"I'm taking a bath! Do you not have that on whatever planet or realm your from?!"

"I don't know what you said but it sounded like an insult!" The door opened and Pierce and Rhys came into the bathroom, Rhys was in his human clothes

"Prince Asch, Leif! If you're going to phase to one room to another, go all the way through. I have to conserve my magic in case of emergencies." Rhys said

Asch and Leif got out of the wall and got next to the others. "What are you doing Pierce?" Asch asked him

"I'm asking him to tell us how to put the human clothes on but he's being smug."

"That's it was a test given by the human sorceress and passed." Rhys smirked

"Out! Out all of you!" Ava yelled

"Why is she in the water?" Rhys asked

"Perhaps she's drawing power from it? She's getting redder by the second." Pierce suggested

"Was out method on Daemos invalid?"

"For the last time, I'm taking a bath!" Ava shouted

"Bath? What is a bath?" Rhys asked

"A bath is a way to clean yourselves with water." Ava explained as calmly as she could but she was reaching her limit

"Why not use your magic?" Leif asked

"Because that's considered lazy and unnecessary. Now for the last time, GET OUT!"

"Why can't we watch you?" Leif asked

"It's considered lewd and rude to be in the bathroom of the opposite sex. Now get out or I'll-" Ava was cut off by Asch

"Or what? You've done nothing but throw idle threats at us." Asch said

"So have you!" Ava shot back

"How dare you, I'll-." Asch tried to make a fireball but Ava used her magic to form the water into a ball and threw her waterball at Asch's fireball

"She knows disarming magic!" Rhys yelled

"Run!" Leif said

Rhys grabbed and dragged Asch out of the bathroom, Leif and Pierce following them. Ava blinked slowly, processing what happened.

"All I did was use a bit of water magic, I didn't think they would react like that." She said to herself

"Thanks for nothing, you stupid cat." Ava said to Johnny, who was sleeping

Ava stepped out of the bathtub and unplugged the drain. She wrapped a towel tightly over her body. Johnny woke up and Ava took off his face mask before he left.

*Thud* 

Ava turned around to see Noi who phased into the bathroom by accident, on the floor. There was a pair of pants over his head, covering his eyes.

"Noi, are you alright?" Ava knelt beside him

"I'm fine. I was having trouble putting on the human clothes and Leif said he would help me, then he put these over my head." Noi said

"Well that's not how you where them." Ava took the pants of his head

Noi blinked his eyes repeatedly to adjust the light. He saw that he was in a completely different room that Ava was in and she was naked, only covered in a thin cloth.

He blushed and turned his head, giving Ava privacy. He respected Ava's privacy and boundaries more than the other daemos.

"M-My apologies, forgive my intrusion." Noi said as his face turned redder

Ava's face turned red when she realized at the position they were in. She shook it of as an accident.

"It's fine, you didn't mean to walk in." Ava said

Noi was stunned by her quick forgiveness, he would have been beaten severely if he was in Daemos.

"Come on, I'll help you with your clothes." Ava stood up, gesturing for Noi to follow

The two walked out of the bathroom and saw the other's in the living room.

"Noi, there you are! I've been looking for you and-" Leif paused mid sentence when he saw Noi next to a naked Ava

His face then broke into a smirk. "Where you two in the middle of something~?"

The two blushed and Ava tried to explain. "N-No! He fell into the bathroom on accident so I helped him!"

"Whatever you say." The smirk didn't leave Leif's face

Ava tried to speak but she was so flustered that she couldn't form full words. "Alright! It seems I need to set more rules."

"As our prisoner, you don't get to make rules." Asch said

"Who's letting you stay her? Me." Ava said

She turned to th others. "How did you phase through my wall?"

"Once our home is linked to a surface, we can enter and exit at will in a close proximity." Rhys answered her

"So you can go through my walls whenever you want?" 

"Technically speaking, yes."

"You know what? I have something for that." Ava went into her room and brought her big red Crayola crayon, she drew a door like shape then she drew symbols on the edges

"These are symbols of binding and sealing. Once I mark this wall, you are bound to enter and exit from this spot." Ava said as she finished drawing the last symbol, the symbols glowed for a moment before fading into the wall

"What?! You can't do that!" Asch said

"I. Just. Did. Now another topic, stop calling me 'Human' or 'Sorceress'. I have a name."

"Ava." Noi said, shocking everyone

"How did you know?"

"Your friend said your name at the mall yesterday, besides it suits you." Noi smiled

Ava blushed at the compliment before she collected herself. "Yes Noi, my name's Ava. Now we need to talk about personal space."

The doorbell rang. "Right after I answer that. In the meantime, try to figure out the clothes."

"But we still don't know how to put them on." Pierce said

"Just put them on like your normal clothes."

"Really? I thought there would be more to it." Leif said as he took of his shirt, revealing his abs

Ava blushed and quickly ran to the door, she took a deep breath to calm herself before she answered. She opened the door to see her elderly neighbor.

"Oh Mrs. Oats." Ava said in suprise

"Oh Ava, I was so worried about you." Mrs. Oats said in relief

"Why were you worried about me?" Ava asked

"A few days ago I heard screaming from your apartment. I was so worried so I checked up on you but no one answered the door."

"Why didn't you call the cops then?" Ava asked

"Oh, that would have been a good idea." Mrs. Oats said

"Mrs. Oats." Ava said teary eyed. "What if I was being kidnapped?"

"Oh I'm sorry dear, my memory wasn't what is used to be. I can't seem to remember stuff if I didn't put it on a note. I'm just glad your alright."

"Thanks." Ava said softly

"Before I go, I wanted to ask you if you can deliver this to my grandson across the street. You always deliver on time and he's always happy when you vist him." Mrs. Oats asked

"Of course, I love seeing him." Ava took the present

"Thank you Ava, your very sweet. Now what was all that screaming about?" Mrs. Oats asked

Before Ava could answer, Noi came from around the corner. He was shirtless and only in jeans, revealing his lean and musclear physique.

"Ava, I figured out how to put the pants and but-" Noi stopped mid sentence when he saw Mrs. Oats

Mrs. Oats was processing what was happening.

A naked Ava + A handsome shirtless man in her apartment + screaming =...

Something in Mrs. Oats' brain clicked and she smirked. "Oh I see what's going on here~."

Ava blushed, she knew that smirk. 'She thought Noi and I were having se-' Ava had to slap herself to stop that thought

"I-It's not what it looks like!" Ava tried to explain

"Ah I was young once too, I'm just glad your in good hands. He's a handsome one too. I was wild back in my day as well, no shame if you got game." Mrs. Oats said before she left

Ava slammed her door shut, her face was still red. "Oh god first Leif, now sweet Mrs. Oats is implying that we're doing 'it'." Ava blushed again at the thought

"We're doing what?" Noi asked

"N-Nothing. Now I got to get dressed and deliver this present."

"Can I come? I wanna see more of E-arth." Noi asked

"You know what, why not? But you need to put some more clothes on."

"Ok, I'll do that right now!" Noi ran to dress

Ava then looked at herself, she was still wearing nothing but a damp towel. "I should change too."

After Ava got dressed, she went into the living room where the other daemos were. "Alright, here's what's gonna happen. I'll be delivering this to Mrs. Oats' grandson and Noi will be coming with me since he's been the most behaved."

"No fair." Pierce said

"Yeah!" Leif agreed

"Stop acting like children and don't order my men around, only I get to do that." Asch said

"Stop trying to fight me. Look, I'll be back. Let's go Noi."

"But what about my horns? Won't they stand out?" Noi pointed at his orange horns

"Come here." Ava walked up to Noi

She put her finger on his horns and they glowed. When the glow vanished, so did his horns. Noi touched his head where his horns used to be.

"Wow, it's not like their there!"

"A simple illusion spell I learned, now let's go."

After delivering the present, Noi and Ava were on their way back to the apartment. Mrs. Oats grandson asked if Noi was Ava's boyfriend, which the two blushed and denied frantically.

The two were at the end of the street, walking together. Then an ice cream truck came into Ava's view. "Oh ice cream truck!" Ava ran

"Ah Ava, my best customer. What can I get for you?" Mr. Ice-Cream-Man asked

"Can I get a Derpy Eyed Munchie Bear Pop?" Ava asked for her favorite ice-cream pop

"Anything for you Ava." He went to get the ice cream

"Oh, make it two!" Ava corrected

"Wait wait, you have a date?! Ohhh, it's on the house!" He handed Ava the ice cream

"He's not- nevermind." Ava handed Noi his ice cream and the two sat at a table

"What is this?" Noi asked the strange food in his hand

"Ice cream, it's one of my favorite foods. It's a human desert, you eat it." Ava said as she took a bite out of hers

Noi took a bite at his, the flavor was amazing! He took another bite and another and another until it was gone.

"Wow you did waste any time there." Ava said

"That was amazing! I never had anything like that!" Noi said

"You don't have ice cream where your from? Man, your world must be dark and gloomy." Ava said

"Yeah it kinda is." Noi agreed

"We should head back before Asch burns the apartment." Ava got up from her seat

"Yeah he would do that." Noi chuckled

Chapter Text

After Noi and Ava got home, Noi was immediately pulled into their pocket dimension and questioned by the others. He happily explained the ice cream he had, no one was really interested in it except Rhys.

Rhys was looking through the kitchen, he had a theory he needed to test. He grabbed some of Ava's herbs and found a small cauldron and dumped them into it.

"Rhys, what are you doing?" Asch asked his comrade

"Lady Ava was able to produce magic from simple herbs, I'm wondering if it could be an alternative source of magic." Rhys explained as he put more herbs into the pot

Suddenly, Asch was interested. He remembered seeing some more herbs in Ava's room. He quietly creeped into her room and saw Ava on her bed, still and sleeping. He saw some crystals that gave off a small glow and quickly grabbed them, seeing as they might be useful. Before he left the room, he saw a bottle with orange-red glowing liquid.

'It may be a potion like what Grandmother used with her magic.' Asch through before he grabbed the bottle

Asch walked out of the room with more herbs, crystals, and a mysterious potion in his hands. He placed his items next to the cauldron and began putting them in.

"Asch why do you have crystals?" Rhys asked next to him

"They were glowing and I could feel some magic radiating from them, they may be useful." Asch unscrewed the potion he got and poured it in the pot

"And that?" Rhys pointed at the glowing liquid

"It's a potion of some kind. My grandmother used potions with her magic and human potions may be similar to ones on Daemos." Asch said

Rhys stirred the pot like it was soup. When he put the stirring stick down, the inside of the cauldron was glowing. He could feel magic radiating from it, thanks to his advanced skill in magic. The mixture glowed brighter, becoming more votatile.

The mixture was now bubbling and intense heat radiated from it, it was going to explode.

"Rhys get down!" Asch threw his body onto Rhys, shielding him with his body

The cauldron exploded and crystal shards went everywhere, the kitchen was covered in ash. Rhys and Asch got off the floor, covering in ash and soot.

"Woah what happened here?" Leif looked at the mess of what was formerly the kitchen

"We were trying to find an alternative source of magic, as you can see it didn't turn out so well." Rhys said, dusting ash off of his clothes

Ava's doors flew open. "What the hell happened here?!"

"I thought you were asleep!" Asch said

"I was practicing astral projection you idiot! I saw you coming into my room and stealing my herbs and crystals! You even took my experimental potion which I haven't even tested it out yet!" Ava said

"It was for a good cause!" Asch defended himself

"A cause that almost blew up my kitchen, what were you two thinking?!"

"My apologies Lady Ava, we were simply curious about how you do magic and wanted to try it ourselves." Rhys said, bowing in respect

"If your really sorry, you'll clean the kitchen." Ava said, crossing her arms

"Very well." Rhys began cleaning with a reluctant Asch

While Rhys and Asch were cleaning the kitchen while the other daemos watched them, Ava gathered all the crystal shards. She tried to use her magic to repair them but they were too damaged to fix. Noi noticed her frustrations and tried to help.

"Is everything alright Ava?"

"No, I can't fix the crystals even with my magic." Ava deflated

Noi thought for a moment. "Is there a way to get new ones, they seem important to you."

"Yeah but the place where I get them from is closed, I'll have to wait until tomorrow." Ava said

"See, the problem is solved." Noi offered Ava a reassuring smile

Ava felt reassured by Noi and smiled back. Asch on the other hand, saw the their interaction. His face paled and his eyes looked haunted, his hands wouldn't stop shaking. He looked like he had seen a ghost. His emotions then turned into anger.

"Noi, quit talking to the prisoner like that." Asch said

"Excuse you, I'm no one's prisoner." Ava said

"Yes you are." Asch said, more like to himself

"No she's not, she has been nothing but kind to us and yet you ignore her." Noi said

"You dare defy me Noi? You are my weakest knight and I am the prince, you do not have the authority to talk to me like that." Asch growled

The others were watching the scene unfolded, Noi never spoke to anyone like this. Unlike the others, Leif was enjoying the scene.

"This is getting good." He said

"Should we stop him?" Pierce asked Rhys

"I... do not know." Rhys said

"You may be the prince on but we're not on Daemos anymore." Noi put his arms out in frontof Ava as if to protect her

Asch was enraged by the gesture, he didn't even notice the flames that started to manifest in his fist.

"I will be the future king, I can charge you for treason." Asch said lowly

Ava stepped out from behind Noi and in front of him. "Leave him alone!"

Asch stepped forward, his anger clouding his mind. He grabbed Ava by her neck. His flames touched her skin and she let out a silent scream of pain.

"This is between US!" Asch yelled as he threw Ava

Ava's head hit the mirror and shattered it, breaking it into a million pieces. Mirror shards showered her body as she slid down the wall and collapsed onto the floor, a blood puddle forming around her head.

"AVA!" Noi screamed as he ran to her

"Ava speak to me! Are you alright?!" Noi scooped her into his arms

The other daemos looked at Asch in shock, they all had seen him lose his temper at least once before but never like this. Never so brutal.

Ava's eyes fluttered open, she felt a gash on her forehead and some shards digging into her skin. The burns on her neck made it difficult to speak, all she could feel was hot pain. She could only cry as Noi tried to help her.

"Leif use your magic!" Noi should at him

Leif snapped out of his shock and knelt beside Ava, his hand glowed green and put it on her neck. The gash on her forehead started to slowly close. Then Ava's body started to shake and thrash, she was hyperventilating and the burns on her neck made it painful to breathe so much. Her vision started to blur and her heart rate was pounding.

"Calm down, I need to use my magic to heal you!" Leif tried to hold her still

"Ava, you need to calm down." Noi said but it fell deaf onto her ears

Her mind was plauged by flashbacks of her being abused again. Her senses were out of wack and her instincts told her to run. Leif tried to hold her still but it wasn't working so he just hit her pressure points on her neck to make her unconscious.

"Leif what was that for?!" Noi asked

"I couldn't use my magic to heal her if she kept thrashing everywhere. Besides I didn't even hurt her." Leif tried to use his magic again but it did work

"Why isn't it working Leif?!"

"I don't know!"

"It's possible her magic is protecting her from foreign magic as a way to protect her. She looked panicked when she gathered her senses and her instincts took over." Rhys tried to explain the best he could

Noi just sighed and picked up Ava bridal style and carried her into her room. He set Ava on her bed and left the room and came back with a first aid. He cleaned off the blood before he started, then he cleaned the wounds and pulled out the shards. He then wrapped her forehead and cuts in bandages and applied burn cream onto her neck. When he was done, he pulled a blanket over her body.

"I wish I still had my magic to heal you." Noi said somberly

He walked out of Ava's room with a grim look on his face. He saw Asch standing in the same place, looking at his hands in shock. Noi punched him in the face and he fell to the floor, holding a bloody nose.

"You could've killed her, you know humans aren't as physically strong as daemos." Noi looked him in the eye coldly

He then knelt beside him, eyes still cold. "If you ever hurt her again, I'll rip out your horns myself and hang them as trophies. I don't care that your the prince and that's a promise." Noi said coldly

Asch nodded his head frantically in fear and got up and left through their pocket dimension. The others watched as Noi threatened Asch, they never knew Noi could be terrifying. Leof fel strangely proud for some reason.

Noi went back into Ava's room and sat next to her bed. Johnny hopped into his lap to try and calm the young daemos down. Noi just kept watching Ava, feelings of protectiveness overpowering him.

Soon he fell asleep watching over Ava.

Chapter Text

For the next few days, Noi stayed beside Ava worried if she got hurt again. Leif used his magic again and this time it worked but Noi wanted Ava to stay in bed just in case.

Asch on the other hand, was a wreak. Guilt consumed him, sure he killed humans in the past before but this time when he almost killed Ava it felt wrong. He didn't come out of his room for days, he didn't sleep or eat even when Rhys said he should and he always listened to Rhys. It got so bad, even Leif started to worry.

Asch wanted to apologize but he didn't know how, he thought for sure Ava hated him now.

The sun had set and the moon has risen, Ava woke up with the need for water. She didn't expect Asch to be looking at a picture of her an her dad's together.

"Asch! W-What are you doing here?" Ava asked nervously

"Oh... Ava... I was looking at your father's." Asch said

They stood in silence before he spoke again. "It's strange that you have two father's..."

"Really? It's widely accepted here." Ava said

Asch looked shocked to her for a moment before he looked back at the photo.

"On Daemos, same sex partners are heavily frowned upon." Asch said sadly

Ava could feel his saddens, it clung on to him like a second skin. "Are you ok? Do you want to talk about it?"

Asch and Ava sat on the couch,Asch was tense at first but got comfortable. He took a deep breath before telling Ava.

"Long ago when I was sixteen years of age, I had a male lover." Asch said

"What was his name?" Ava asked

"His name was Blaze, he was like the sun itself. Bright, passionate, courageous, hilarious, handsome, and kind. So kind..." Asch said

"Did you love him?"

"I loved him with all my heart. We would do anything for each other, we were even engaged before..." Tears welled up in his eyes

"What happened between you two?"

"It was ten years ago." Asch started

Flashbacks - 10 Years Ago

"Come on your highness, show me what you got!" A male said

The male was a tall, lean, with rusty orange hair with red horns, dusty skin with a few small scars on his face, and beautiful blue eyes.

A younger Asch tried to punch him but the male dodged it, he tried again but the male dodged that as well. Asch then successfully punched him and he flew to the other side of the room.

Asch gasped him horror. "Blaze!" He ran over to the male

He hovered over the seemingly unconscious Blaze. "Blaze are you alright? Speak to me?!"

Blaze then revealed that he was awake then swept Asch off of his feet. Asch fell to the floor and Blaze got on top of him and pinned him down.

"Are you done?" Blaze said playfully

"Never!" Asch said with determination

Asch tried to get out of his grip but Blaze was too strong, after a while Asch gave up. "Your a tough opponent Blaze."

"That's why I'm one of the best." Blaze smirked, showing of his sharp teeth

It took a second for Blaze to realize the position they were in, he may as well have fun with it.

He put his face closer to Asch's. "Hey what are you-" Asch was cut off my Blaze kissing him

"This is my reward for beating you in combat." Blaze kissed him again

The kiss was warm and passionate and Asch completely melted into it. Blaze pulled away, slightly out of breath and with a smirk on his face.

"Your cute when you blush Asch." Blaze said, causing Asch to blush more

The door opened and a guard came out, Blaze and Asch instantly got off of each other and stood up.

"Prince Asch, your father has requested your presence." The guard told him

"I'll be there shortly." Asch answered, t he guard nodded and left

When the guard left, Asch visibly calmed down and let out a groan. Blaze put his arm around him. "Your father giving you trouble?"

"You have no idea. When will I see you again?"

"Tonight, your room. I have a suprise for you, see you there." Blaze stole one last kiss before he left

Asch growled as he walked down the hallway, he and his father had got into another fight again. He was so angry at him that he completely forgot a out Blaze's suprise. He was shocked to see Blaze laying on his bed reading one of his books.

"Hows his Majesty doing on this fine night?" Blaze asked

"Better now that your here." Asch laid down next to him

"That bad huh?"

"That bad but now that I'm here, what's the suprise?"

Blaze stood up and took Asch by the hand and looked him in the eyes. "Prince Asch, future king of the phonix daemons, we have know and been together for two years in second and have faced many hardships together. So will you give me the honor and.."

Blaze pullled out a small box and opened it, revealing a beautiful ring. "Will you marry me?"

Tears of happiness formed in Asch's eyes before he gave his answer. "Yes! Yes! A hundred times yes!" He grabbed Blaze and hugged him

Blaze put the ring on his finger then kissed his fiance. The kiss was full of passion and unyielding love and affection.

Asch woke up the next morning with Blaze asleep next to him. Their bodies entangled with one another.

Asch could only smile as he sawhis fiance next to him. He went closer and as if on instinct, Blaze wrapped his arms around him and pulled him closer. Asch blushed at the action but his smile didn't waver, he felt safe and loved in his arms as he slowly drifted back to sleep.

It had been a few weeks, almost a month since they got engaged. Asch and Blaze were planning on their wedding in secret, gods forbid if Asch's father found out.

When it was time for them to turn in for the night, they gave each other a quick kiss before falling asleep. When Asch woke up, Blaze as gone and a note was next to him.

Asch, meet me in the dining room.

Asch made his way to the dining room. When he got there and opened the door and he didn't see Blaze, instead he saw his father.

"Where is he?" Asch asked

"Who? Your 'fiance'? Well he's right here." The doors opened to reveal Blaze bound and gagged and littered with cuts and bruises, dragged by his father's personal guards

Asch tried not to cry at the sight of Blaze, he couldn't be seen as weak now. 

"Release him. This is between me and you father." Asch said as calmly as he could to his father

"I had hope for you Asch." His father began. "You have all the skill and intelligence that your brother Rhal doesn't have, and yet you chose this?" He gestured Blaze

"I hoped you would have pick a princess from another kingdom but you chose a filthy commoner."

"He's not a filthy commoner. He's has more strength and heart than you ever did." Asch hisses at his father

His father looked at him with a silent murderous rage and then looked at Blaze.

"I will not tolerate this kind of insolence and defiance in my kingdom, let this be a lesson to you." He raised his hand and red magic began to form and shoot

Asch could only watch in despair as the beam hit Blaze, through his heart. Asch knocked over the guards and ran to Blaze.

"Blaze?! Blaze! Love! Wake up!" Asch begged

"Sorry... I...couldn't...protect...you..." Blaze choked on his blood

"No! I-I'll get you to the healers, your going to be alright!"

"Asch...I'm already dead...my family's waiting for me... Goodbye Love..."

"Blaze?! Blaze?! Nonononono... please, I need you..." Tears left Asch's eyes

"Take my son to the dungeon, he needs to learn respect the proper way." His father ordered

Over the next few days, Asch was in a state of shock. His mind kept replying Blaze's death over and over again, not even the torture he endured snapped him out of it.

After he was let out, he changed. He became more distant to everyone, his temper grew and he snapped at everyone more especially the guards. His father was pleased by his new attitude but Asch loathed him, words cannot describe his hatred for his father. Not just for killing his fiance but for his treatment of his family and wife before she died and his insane lust for power.

When the magic started to fail, Asch relished that his father was losing power. When his grandmother offered to sent him and his comrades to E-arth to discover new sources of magic, he took it.

E-arth was strange compared to Daemos but in a good way. There was no constant bloodshed or fight for survival, he was treated like a normal person.

When he saw Ava protecting Noi, he saw Blaze instead.

When Asch stopped, he was in tears. Years of suppressed emotions have finally been let loose, all the emotions he block out since Blaze's death have come out all at once. 

Ava on the other hand, was shocked at his father's cruelty. Asch was only sixteen...

Suddenly, Ava didn't see a hot-headed short-tempered demon to an angry and grieving soul that was hurting and never got the chance to heal. But maybe now he can...

Ava put her arms around Asch and let him cry on her, Asch kept crying and mumbling apologies to her over and over.

Rhys walked through their pocket space, he didn't expect what he saw. Ava was putting makeup on Asch and he was letting her, they were even chatting like they were friends.

"What is the purpose of this 'makeup'?"

"It's to make you look pretty." Ava said as she applied some blush

"Are you saying I'm not already pretty?!"

"Prince Asch?" Rhys make himself known

"Hey Rhys!" Ava greeted him

"Hello Rhys." Asch also greeted him

Rhys' face went red after he saw Asch's face. The red eyeshadow made his charcoal eyes stand out and the blush complimented his skin tone. (https://pin.it/3ApgzEJ)

Rhys covered his blush with his hand and looked away, averting eye contact with the handsome daemos.

"What are you doing your Majesty?" Rhys asked

"Ava said she wanted to give me a 'makeover', it's actually very relaxing." Asch flexed his clawed hands that had red and black nail polish on them

"A makeover?"

"Yes, she said that it would 'make me pretty'."

"May I join?" Rhys asked

"Sure! Sit next to Asch."

"I feel... rather nice." Rhys said, wearing blue eyeshadow and lip gloss

"You look very nice Rhys." Asch said

"T-Thank you your Majesty." Rhys blushed

"You can just call me Asch if you would like, no 'Prince' or 'Your Majesty'."

"As you wish your Ma-, I mean Asch."

The three were having fun with their self care session while the other daemos watched them from around the corner.

"You can come out you know?" Ava said, starting the three

"How did you know we were there?" Pierce asked

"I just sensed you, that's all."

"What are you guys doing?" Noi asked

"Oh me and Asch were doing a little self care then Rhys wanted to join in, wanna join?"

"You should try it, it's very relaxing and my skin has never been softer." Rhys said

The three looked at each other then at the others. "Sure."

Chapter Text

Ava was rummaging through her cabinets, desperately trying to find something. She was out of her medicine and lavender and chamomile tea. They help her sleep and stop nightmares but the nightmares had become more frequent that she used them all up. Ava opened her past drawer, finding nothing. Ava groaned in annoyance, Noi who happened to be walking by heard this and got his attention.

"What's wrong Ava?" He asked

"I'm out of lavender and chamomile tea and also my medication." Ava said

"Can we get more?" Noi said, wanting to help

"Yeah and I also need new crystals and herbs since Rhys and Asch blew mine up, but I have to leave the apartment."

"What's wrong with going out of the apartment?"

"I'm... I'm scared people will look at me, judging me. All those eyes watching me." Ava said

Noi thought for a moment before an idea struck him. "Why don't I come with you?"

"What?"

"Think about it, I'll be with you so you won't get scared and I'll protect you from harm." Noi said

Ava was shocked for a moment. 'He would do that for me?' Ava thought as a blush formed across her face

"T-Thank you Noi, I would very much appreciate it."

"I would gladly accompany you, besides I want yo see more of E-arth or Earth as you call it." Noi smiled which made Ava's heart fluster

"Sure, just let me get dressed."

Ava was walking down the street with Noi by her side, having Noi there eased her worries but they were still present. Ava was wearing a comfy long-sleeved sweater with white stripes at the end of the sleeves and collor, a necklace with a moon charm, a black skirt, thigh high stockings, and white shoes with her bag.

Noi was wearing a leather jacket with a yellow hoodie underneath, jeans, and red shoes. His horns were hidden by Ava's magic and his hair blew freely with the wind.

They were walking down the street when they heard a familiar voice. "AVA!!!"

They turned to see Lorelai coming up to them and hugging Ava. "Hi Ava, who ya doin'?"

Ava smiled at her friends enthusiasm and positive energy. "I'm fine Lorelai, how are you doing?"

"I'm doing great! By the way, thank you for that luck charm. It got me a new jobs with lots of perks." 

"SHHH, not so loud." Ava panickly covered her friends mouth

"Oh sorry." Lorelai apologized before she looked at Noi worryingly

"Does he..."

"Somewhat." Ava replied

"What? What are you two talking about?" Noi asked, confused

"Another time, let's get going." Ava said

"Oh where are you two going?" Lorelai said, trying to change the subject

"To Adelinda, I need stuff from her shop." Ava said

"Oh I work there! I'll be happy to take you guys there!" Lorelai offered

"Great, let's go!" Noi said

It didn't take them long for the three to reach their destination. Lorelai led them a few blocks until they reached a shop. The shop looked darker than the other shops and it gave off a peaceful feeling to Noi, almost mystical.

"Come on, Let's go in!" Lorelai dragged the two inside

The shop looked warmer inside and more vibrant. It looked comfy and homily. On the counter was crystals that were on display, they were glowing and beautiful. Before Noi could touch them, a voice shouted. "WHO BROUGHT A DEMON IN MY STORE?!"

A woman with snow white hair and powerful icy blue eyes that were full of experience and authority.

"Who are you?" She asked Noi in an calm but powerful tone, he swore he felt ice crawling up his back

"Madam Adelinda, he's with me!" Ava said

The woman almost instantly dropped her glare and looked at the smaller woman with pure affection.

"My Darling! I haven't seen you in so long!" She embraced Ava into a warm hug

"What were you doing? Have you been studying properly? Sleeping properly? Eating properly?" Adelinda asked Ava a million questions

"You two know each other?" Lorelai asked her employer and friends

"Ava is my prize pupil, my brightest star. She is one of my most accomplished students." Adelinda said proudly

"Ava is you're apprentice?" Noi said, subconsciously stepping closer to Ava

"My my my, do my eyes decive me? My Darling has found a man?" Adelinda said, almost teasingly

"N-No w-were just friends." Ava stuttered through her blush

Adelinda stepped cloer to Noi, examining him. "Hmm Thick wavy locks, tall height, lean and strong body, and the eyes..." She put her hand on his shoulder and smiles softly

"You have seen and been through a lot, yet your still as kind as an angel. You're eyes resemble the setting sun in sumer." Adelinda said

"You're arrival with your comrades and the prince came as expected."

'She knows?! How?!' Noi mentally screamed

Adelinda turned to the others and clapped her hands together happily. "Now what are you all here for?"

"I need new herbs and crystals, they kinda... exploded."

"Excellent when you have everything you need, come to me."

"Great, come on Noi." Ava dragged Noi with her who was still in shock

Ava found the herbs and crystals she was looking for and grabbed extra in case Rhys wanted to experiment with her herbs and crystals again. She looked at some the grimoires that were displayed, hoping to learn some new magic and maybe teach the daemos tho she decided against it. While she did this, Noi observed her.

"What are you getting crystals and herbs for?" Noi asked Ava

"There good tools for magic. Crystals are great for storing energy and herbs are the most versatile for hands-on magic." Ava explained

Noi watched Ava as she grabbed a crystal and inspected it carefully. A small glow caught his attention, Noi turned and saw it was a crystal and grabbed it. It was a small rose quarts no larger than his palm but it did not dismiss its beauty.

'It reminds me of Ava's eyes...' Noi thought as he held the small but beautiful gem in his hands

"I see Aphrodite's crystal has felt you emotions." Adelinda suddenly appeared

"Ava, you like her don't you?" Adelinda asked

"Yeah, she's really nice and a good friend." Noi said

"I don't mean platonically, I can easily see your feelings of attraction towards her but you're scared you'll hurt her." Adelinda said

Noi was shocked, Adelinda could read him like an open book! Thankfully Ava interrupted them and snapped him out of reality. "I'm done Noi, let's go."

They paid and went back to the apartment, Lorelai waved them goodbye and hoped they see each other again. When they got home, Noi tried to think about something else but what Adelinda said to him was stuck in his mind.

'Your scared you'll hurt her.' 

Noi laid on his bed in his room in their pocket home. He tried to sleep but all he could think about was what Adelinda told him and Ava.

Ava was a strange human to them. Most humans they've meet in the past were terrified of them but not Ava. She took them in and has been nothing but kind to them.

'Ava's strange but in a good way. Her habits like talking to her spirit or familiar as she calls him like a human, the way she leaves crystals around the apartment, they way she does magic. She looks straight but beautiful herself. Her hair, her skin, her eyes, her lips...'

Noi immediately shot up from his bed, a wode blush was spread across his face. He brought a hand to his face, why was he thinking about Ava's lips?

'Her soft, luscious lips...'

Noi blushed even redder, where have all these thoughts of Ava come from? Noi laid back down in his bed and tried to sleep. Soon enough, he feel asleep with Ava on his mind.

"Ava..." Noi whispered in his sleep

Chapter Text

Noi woke up to the sound of someone passing by his door. As a knight, he instinctively went to investigate it. He followed the footsteps through the portal that connected their space to Ava's apartment to Ava room where Leif was standing over Ava with his curved blade. He was about to strike before Noi brought out his dagger and blocked it.

"Again Leif?" Noi said, annoyed

"Why do you always interfere when I try to take out the human sorceress?"

"Why do you always get caught? Aren't you the second strongest in our group?" Noi asked Leif, almost snarkingly

Leif tried to say something back but he couldn't, an embarrassed blush came across his face and teleported away. Noi sighed in relief until Ava's phone rang. Noi panicked, Ava was taking a nap next to him and he knew Ava liked her sleep.

He grabbed the phone and tried to smash it again the bed frame. Seeing as it won't break, Noi tried harder and started grunting.

Mrs. Oats was knitting, minding her own business when sje heard grunting and thrudding from Ava's apartment.

"Ohhh spicy~." She said out loud

When the grunting got louder and the thudding got faster, her eyes widened and she blush.

"Goodness gracious, he's an animal!" She said

Seeing as the phone won't break and there wasn't even a crack, Noi just held it in his hand and looked at it in frustration. He accidentally hit the 'Answer' button on Ava's phone and Lorelai's voice came out.

"Hello Ava?" Lorelai called out

Noi, not wanting to face Ava's wrath, he dropped the phone and bolted out of her room. Lorelai called out again and Ava woke up.

"Oh sorry Lorelai, I was taking a nap. I must have sleep answered you." Ava yawned

"Soory about that. Anyways, I wanted to see if you wanted to come hang out with me and my friends. We're at the diner of you want to come." Lorelai said

Ava was silent. If it was just Lorelai she would have but her friends were exactly nice to her. "Thanks Lorelai but I'm not really in the mood to go out right now."

"That's okay. There's always next time, call me later ok?"

"Alright, I will. Bye."

"Bye bye." Lorelai said

Ava yawned and started to get comfortable again when he noticed Lorelai hadn't hit the 'end call' button, when Ava was about to press the button she heard Lorelai's friends voices.

"You still talk to Ava? The witch? She's boring." Steve, Lorelai's boyfriend, asked

"I can't believe you stay in contact with that witch, I mean what if she tries to put a curse on you?" Kristen, Lorelai's other female friend, said

"Ava's not like that. She's actually really nice once you get to know her, she's just really shy." Lorelai said

"Remember her in high school?" Orin, Lorelai's male friend, asked

"Yeah, she was so shy and nervous all the time. I remember finding out she was one of the witches after she used magic in public." Steve said

"She was healing her broken leg after Taylor pushed her down the stairs." Lorelai said

"Whatever. Witches discust me with their Devil's magic, I bet she offered herself to Satan and had sex with the Devil." Kristen said

Steven and Orin laughed. "I bet her parents enrolled her to out school after she got kicked out of her last one."

They just kept laughing and calling Ava mean names, Lorelai tried to deny the comments and defend Ava but they kept coming. There were tears in Ava's eyes, she gripped herself tightly to try to ground herself. She let out a small whimper as she silently cried, Lorelai heard her crying and tried to apologize but Ava hung up. Ava just laid down in her bed as she cried. 

'People can be... so cruel.'

Ava didn't go back to sleep, she was thinking of ways to prove that she wasn't boring. She was thinking until an idea hit her.

"That's it! I'll get Instagram!" Ava said out loud

She then spent the next hour downloading the app and setting up her account. She was vibrating with excitement.

"What should I post first?" Ava walked around her living room

She heard a meow and turned to see her familiar Johnny looking at her. "Perfect!" She picked him up

She sat him on the couch and got her phone out. "Say 'Cheese'!"

After Ava posted the photo, people started to like and comment on how cute Johnny was. She even gained some followers.

"This is perfect! At this rate, I'll show Lorelai's stupid friends and even stupider boyfriend that I'm not boring."

"This filter looks cute." Ava said

After Ava posted the picture of her, she looked at her other post. "Wow 20 Likes and 3 comments."

Ava looked at another picture of her and was shocked. "50 Likes and 39 comments?! I posted this an hour ago!"

Ava looked at the setting sun outside, a few more wouldn't hurt right?

Leif was pacing around their pocket home, his nerves were restless.

"I'm tired of staying in here! I want to go outside and see the human world!"

"Leif, calm yourself." Rhys tried to calm him down but that only made him angrier

"No! I'm sick of not fighting and doing nothing! No bloodshed! Nothing!" Leif shouted

"Life is not all about violence." Pierce said

"Easy for you to say!"

"Don't shout at Pierce! He was only trying to help!" Noi yelled at Leif

"Why are you all yelling!" Asch came in

"You're yelling too!" Leif shot back

"Why are they all so hostile with each other?" Rhys asked Pierce, as they were the only calm ones

"Maybe because the lack of hostility in this world." Pierce guessed

"No, it's beautiful the human sorceress hasn't taken us outside yet!" Leif said

"I have! Twice!"

"You're dates with the human sorceress don't count!"

"Their not dates, there just going out between two friends!"

"Keep telling yourself that!"

Leif and Noi snarled at each other, growls escaped from their throats. Each were bearing their razor sharp shark like teeth, they both brought out their claws and started fighting each other. They fought and clawed and bit each other before Rhys and Pierce has to pry them off of each other.

"Enough, both of you!" Asch yelled, his voice full of authority

"Have any of you considered asking Ava to take you outside?" Asch asked them

"..."

"..."

"..."

"..."

"Are you serious? All of this could've been avoided if you had communicated with each other and Ava." Asch gestured the bruises and marks on Leif and Noi

"Go see Ava. Leif needs to conserve his magic amd maybe Ava has something that can help." Asch ordered

Without another word, the white haired and the salmon haired daemos walked through the entry point of their pocket home.

"What were you two even fighting about?" Ava asked the daemos as she applied magical cream on their bruises and claw marks to speed up the recovery process

Noi hissed in pain while Leif seemed unfazed. They both looked at each other then at Ava. "... We wanted you to take us outside..."

Ava blinked once then twice, then she let out a small laugh before stopped. "If you wanted me to take you outside, you could've just asked."

"That's what Asch said." Leif said

"Well you all need better communication skills so this doesn't happen again." Ava sais as she applied some magical ointment to a claw slash underneath Leif's eye

"Ow!" Leif hissed in pain

"Noi gotta good, didn't he?"

"He did, I'm impressed." Leif said

Ava's phone vibrant and she took it out of her pocket, she unlocked it and squealed with delight.

"Yes! I have more followers than Lorelai's stupid friends!" Ava shouted in success

"What are you talking about?" Leif asked, confused

Ava showed Leif amd Noi her Instagram page with over 10k followers. There were pictures of her, Johnny, flowers, crystals and many others. It all looked very confusing.

"What is this?" Leif asked

"It this human magic?" Noi asked

"No, this is Instagram. It's an app where people can talk and share with people all around the world." Ava tried to explain

"Wow, that sounds amazing!" Noi said

Ava smiled before another thought crossed her mind. She then looked to the two daemos with a wide grin of her face.

"Wanna join me?"

Rhys, Asch, and Pierce found the three of them doing weird positions and Ava holding a small weird box in her hand. Ava then had to explain what they were doing then they wanted to join themselves because it looked fun. They all took pictures of themselves and had fun messing with the filters.

It was all harmless until Leif saw a fountain outside. "Hey there a fountain outside! Maybe that will give us a lot of likes."

"That sounds like a great idea Leif, let's take the elevator."

"Nah, that sound boring. Let's take this way."

"Whay w-WAYYY!" Leif grabbed Ava and threw her over his shoulder and jumped out the window

"LEIFFF!" Ava screamed in fear

"AVA!!!" The other daemos yelled

When Leif got to the fountain, he set Ava down who was shaking in fear. She dropped on to her hands and knees as she tried to find her voice amd catch her breath.

"Leif... what *huff* was *huff* THAT?!" Ava said

"The elevator was too boring, besides no one saw us." Leif said

"That doesn't mean-" Ava paused mid sentence

"Mean what? Why'd you sto- Hey!" Leif was dragged to the bushed by Ava

"Why'd drag me?" Leif asked

Ava didn't respond, she just look in a single direction with wide eyes. Leif looked confused and looked in the direction she was looking in. He saw Lorelai's friends.

"Steve, this shortcut is terrible." Kristen said

"The movie's gonna start soon." Orin complained

"I can't believe Lorelai dumped me." Steve said

"I can't believe she defended that witch." Kristen said

"I don't understand what she see's in her." Orin added

"What a shame, Lorelai is lost to that witch." Kristen sighed

"I pity her, now let's keep moving." The group left and Leif turned to Ava with concern

"Hum- I mean Ava, are you ok?" Leif asked in a soft tone

Ava didn't look up, she just sniffled and a few tears fell. "Just take me home Leif. I don't wanna be here anymore." She said in an emotionless tone

"Ok." Leif picked her up gently and made his way home.

Leif decided to go back to the apartment the normal way, using the elevator. He met up with the others and made their way back home.

Ava looked at the blade in her hand, her hand shaking as she felt the familiar sharpness of the blade. She was in the bathroom so the others won't catch her cutting herself. Her hand that held the blade wouldn't stop shaking.

'Stop shaking to much, you haven't even started and yet your alright breaking down. Pathetic.'

Ava rolled down her pink and black stockings, revealing many healed self harm scars. Some were healed some were almost healed scabs.

'Looks like it's been a while, and I was doing so well.'

Ava put the sharp end of the blade against the skin of her thigh and applied pressure until blood came out of the cut. The feeling of relif and euphoria overpowered the pain of the cut, Ava moved the blade and started cut again. After awhile, her thighs were coated with so much blood it was hard to see skin so she moved to her stomach amd wrist. The relif was fading and the pain was coming back, it was unbearable. All the blood she lost from the cuts took its toll and she collapsed on the bathroom floor.

Self Harm Over.

"What do you think Ava's doing in there? It's been a while." Rhys asked Leif

"I don't know, why don't we have Asch check on her?" Leif suggested

"Have me check in on who?" Asch asked

"Well that saves us the trouble of getting you." Leif laid back down on the couch

"We were going to ask you to check on Ava, she's been in the bathroom for quite some time." Rhys said

"And why didn't one of you do it?" Asch asked Leif

"The couch is too comfortable." Leif said

"Whatever, I'll check on her." Asch said

Asch knocked on the door a few times but Ava didn't answer. Asch waited a few minutes before he went in himself. He saw Ava laying down on the bathroom floor.

"Ava, why are you sleeping her and not your chambers? Ava?" Asch stepped closer

He noticed a red color on her wrist and the cut, only humans bled that color. When they were hurt.

"Ava!" Asch dashed to Ava's side

He almost vomited at the sight of the seer amount of cuts and amount of blood. He carefully grabbed Ava, trying not to harm her further.

"LEIF!" Asch ran out of the bathroom with a bloodied Ava in his arms

"Oh my gods." Leif yelled as he shot up instantly

Asch laid Ava on the couch carefully. The rest of the daemos smelled the blood due to their enhanced senses and rushed to the living room. Rhys threw up in the kitchen and Pierce tried to stop the bleeding, Noi just froze then turned to a panicked Leif.

"HEAL HER!" Noi grabbed Leif by the collor

"HEAL HER RIGHT NOW OR I'LL-" Noi was cut off at the sound of knocking on the door

Everyone froze, no one made a move to answer until it opened. Then Lorelai walked in.

"Hey Ava, I'm sorry for what Steve amd his friends said about you. I broke up with him and left them for good and-" Lorelai paused when she saw the daemos with their hirns out and a bloodied Ava

"Ava!" Lorelai rushed to her friends side

"Why did you do it again? I thought you stopped..." Lorelai said

"Get me some towels and some water! Oh and some bandages too!" Lorelai said

The daemos scrambled to get the supplies Lorelai asked for. Asch and Rhys got various towels, Noi and Pierce got the water, and Leif had gotten the bandages.

The daemos watched as Lorelai used the water and towels to clean off the blood and used bandages to cover up tthe cuts. Thick bandages covered Ava's arms, stomach, and legs. Once Lorelai was done, Leif could finally think and used his magic to heal Ava. Lorelai watched in amazement as the cuts close and fade away.

"W-Why would she do that?! Why would she intentionally hurt herself?!" Rhys yelled, staring at the unconscious woman

"Ava had... a rough childhood. It's not my place to tell but I'll explain to you why she did it. Ava has Complex PTSD, or Complex Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder, normally PTSD is caused by a single traumatic event but Complex PTSD is... different." Lorelai explained

"How so?"

"Complex PTSD is caused by months or years of traumatic event and in Ava's case, years." Lorelai said

"Is there a way I can heal it?" Leif asked

"That's very kind of you but it's not a physical illness, it's a mental one. It effects her mind, sense of self worth, and depression. She also has panic attacks because of it."

"Ava said she had panic attacks but she never explained them. Whay are they?" Pierce asked

"A panic attack is a sudden episode of intense fear and anxiety. Something that reminds Ava of her trauma will sent her into a state of fear and she'll have a panic attack."

"How do.you know all of this? You seem very knowledgeable about this." Rhys asked

"I study psychology at college." Lorelai said

"Col-lege?"

"I-I'll explain later."

Ava woke up and shot up instantly. She law Lorelai and the daemos with their horns out. "Guys! Your horns! Lorelai!" She panickly said

"She already knows about them." Asch said

"Oh Ava!" Lorelai threw herself onto Ava, tackling her into a tight hug

"I was so worried! Why did you do it?" Lorelai asked, voice full of concern and worry

Ava started to tear up and looked at the floor. "A-All the stuff Kristen and Steve and Orin said, I-I tried to ignore it but what they said made me remember. I don't want to remember what happened, it hurts so much." Ava said, now crying

Lorelai hugged her again, this time more gently. "It's alright, you won't have to see ot hear from them ever again. I'm sorry for what they said."

"It's not your fault."

"Alright, she's asleep." Noi came out of Ava's room

"Good, she drank the tea." 

"What are you doing?" Rhys asked Lorelai

"I'm making something for Ava when she waked up, that took a lot out of her." Lorelai said

"Are you Ava's apprentice?" Rhys asked her

"Sort of? Maybe? I don't know, she has taught me some very useful magic." Lorelai said

"Like what?"

"Like this." Lorelai's eyes glowed blue an apple flew towards her which she caught without looking

"I'm very skilled with telekinesis magic, Ava said I have a talent for it and emotions." Lorelai said with pride

"Fascinating." Rhys said

Lorelai ended up staying the night incase Ava had any nightmares. Noi fell asleep by Ava's bed, Asch and Rhys fell asleep next to each other on the couch, and Pierce and Leif slept on the floor.

Chapter Text

Ava laid in her bed, tossing and turning. You could see the distress on her face, she was having another nightmare.

"We're leaving today." Asch said emotionlessly

Crash

"W-What?" Ava voice was barley a whisper, there was a feeling in her gut that felt like she was hit with full force

"We leave today." Rhys said annoyed, why would he be annoyed? Had she done something wrong?

"But-" Ava tried to speak but the knot in her throat couldn't let her make proper words

Everything sounds like she's underwater, the violent rhythm of her heartbeat came as crashing waves through her body

"B-But T-The magic crisis! I thought... I thought..."

"You think we were going to stay longer than we absolutely had to? Please." Leif came in, looking at her uncaring

"I-" At this point, the knot in her throat wouldn't let her breathe. The world world went darker, she thought she was going to faint but it wasn't a trick of her mind. The world was honestly and truly disappearing, leaving her in a black void of loneliness

"Can't...you... just... Pierce?" Ava looked at the somber man who doesn't even give her a glace

"...Noi...?" At least he looks at her but she wishes he hadn't. He looked at her uncaringly and without the sparkle in his eyes whenever she saw him

"Don't make this harder Ava. We all have lives to go back to, you didn't think we'll actually stay here?" Asch asked her

"Please... I'm sorry but please-please don't go!" She cried out

But her words fall on deafs ears, they all turn away from her one by one. First Leif, then Pierce, Rhys, Asch, then Noi. He looked at her with pity before leaving.

"Please don't go! I don't want to be alone again..." Ava begged, alone in the void

Noi was sleeping on the foot of Ava's bed, a habit he picked up when he was worried for Ava. He was sound asleep when he felt tossing and turning. He woke up and saw Ava starting to thrash in her sleep, there were tears streaming down her face.

"No no no please... don't leave me..." Ava said in her sleep then she started to shake uncontrollably

"Ava? Ava. Ava!" Noi tried to wake her up

Ava woke up with a start, she woke up in her dark room in the dead of night. She saw Noi with amber eyes piercing through the darkness of her room.

"Ava...?" Noi broke the silence

"Oh, it's just you Noi." Ava let go of her blanket that she didn't she was holding so tightly, her fingers ached as she clawed into her mattress

A single tear tickles down her cheek and didn't take long for her to figure out that Noi saw her crying in her dream. No not a dream, a nightmare.

'Their becoming worse, it happening way to much to be healthy.' Ava collected herself mentally

"Ava..." A gentle voice broke her out of her thoughts, causing her to jump

The moonlight was able to peek put of her closed curtains to shine on orange horns. Noi with his enhanced vision in the dark, fully focuses on Ava and noticing her tears.

"Umm... Ava, are you alright?" He asked her

"Hm? Oh! I-uh-" Ava snapped back to reality. "S-Sorry, I'm ok."

"But you were crying." Noi said, gesturing the tear stains on her face

"Oh, it was from a dream. I'm fine." Ava would be lying of she said she didn't appreciate Noi caring for her

"Do you... want me to leave?" Noi asked

"No please! I-I mean, you don't have to. I-If you want to stay you want." Ava said

Noi then sat back down on the bed, reliving Ava. She didn't want o be alone right now.

"You were talking in your sleep." Noi said

"Really? What did I say?"

"No."

"No?"

"You kept say No repeatedly and you started crying and I don't like seeing you cry so I woke you up." Noi said

'That was wholesomely nice of him.' Ava thought

"I'm sorry." Ava whispered out

She expected for him to leave and leave her alone in her room, but what she didn't expect was a warm hand coming on top of her own.

"I don't like it when you cry Ava, it hurts me." Noi said, reassuringly

Ava was shocked for a moment before engulfing Noi into a hug and brought him down with her to the bed.

"What is this?" Noi asked, it made him feel warm inside

"It's a cuddle, it a way of humans showing affection." Ava said as she cuddled him closer

Noi was still before he did the same. "I kinda like it." Noi said before a purr escaped him

"Wait, you can purr?" Ava said

"Well daemos can do it when we're happy, it's more like a rumble that comes from out chest and throat." Noi said

"I don't care, you can purr like a human sized cat. Your sleeping with me from now on." Ava said as she pulled Noi closer

Noi blushed at the new arrangement but he was happy nonetheless. "I'm happy to comply."

As a light sleeper, Noi woke up first. He saw that Ava was still sleeping in his arms.

"You didn't waste any time I see." Noi turned to see Leif staring at them

"What are you doing here Leif?" Noi asked him, annoyed

"I came in here to mess with Ava but I stayed and watched when I saw you here. Already got into her bed, I see." Leif smirked

Noi blushed, he knew what Leif meant. "No no, it's not like that!"

"I didn't expect you two to court so quickly but I'll leave you two love birds alone. Have fun~." Leif left

Noi just sighed in annoyance and wen back to sleep.

"Ok since you guys are itchin' to go outside, I thought it would be a good idea to take you guys to the park." Ava said

"What are you packing?" Rhys asked her

"Mrs. Oats asked me to mak some PB&J's for her and I decided to make a few since we're going to the park." Ava said

"What's a park?" Leif asked

"A park is a public place used for physical activity, mainly for kids to play." Ava tried to explain

"Now I got to deliver these sandwiches I made for Mrs. Oats, while I do that your guys hide your horns. Once you do meet me outside." Ava said before she left

Ava rang Mrs. Oats doorbell and the door opened. "Oh Ava, it's so good to see you." Mrs. Oats greeted her

"Hey Mrs. Oats. Oh, hey Mrs. Belle." Ava greeted the elder women

"Hello."

"Are you guys having your book club or something?" Ava asked them

"Pssh Darling, we're not that boring. We're meeting to plan our crochet club." 

"Far less boring."

"Oh yeah, totally. I get that life, anyways here's the sandwiches you asked me for." Ava handed them their sandwiches

"Oh perfect, thank you so much Ava." Mrs. Oats thanked her as she grabbed her sandwiches

"And here's a little extra so you can take your handsome boy-toy out today." Mrs. Oats handed Ava some money

"Mrs. Oats, please." Ava begged

"Oh you should bring him over sometime, Mrs. Oats told me all about him." Mrs. Belle said

"She did?"

"Yes, she told me all about the screaming and the one from this morning too." Mrs. Belle said

Ava blushed in embarrassment as Noi came up to them. "Hey Ava, we're ready."

"Oh your right, he is a handsome one." Mrs. Belle said to Mrs. Oats

"Where are you two heading?" Mrs. Oats asked him

"To the park." Noi answered her

"Oh the park, such a lovely day today for a date at the park." Mrs. Oats said

"Let's go Noi!" Ava grabbed Noi's hand and dragged him with her

"Have fun you two~." They two elder women said

"Why is she so red?" Rhys asked as they caught up to them

"I don't know but I like her like that." Noi said, making Ava redder

"Why are there so many people at the park?" Ava said, in reality there were only a few

"Ok just stick by me and- ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" Ava turned around to see the daemos gone

Ava hurriedly got out the blanket and dragged everyone to sit. "Alright just drink you milk and eat your sandwiches, you can explore when your done."

Ava let out a tired breath and sat underneath a tree. "God, sometimes their like toddlers."

When the daemos were done eating, they wandered the park. Asch and Pierce saw some kids doing a trendy tiktok, Leif was wandering in the community garden, Rhys was trying to bargain a kid for his ice cream, and Noi was watching two elder men play chess. Ava dozed off for a bit when she snapped back into reality, she then went of after the daemos so they wouldn't get into trouble.

She had gotten Rhys, Asch, Pierce, and Leif and set them on the blanket and put a magic barrier on the blanket while she finds Noi. She saw him with Mr. Green and Mr. Dracula.

"Oh hey Ava, tell your father I'm voting for his campaign." Mr. Green said

"I'm sure he'll appreciate it Mr. Green. Noi what are you doing?" Ava asked Noi

"Wait you know this man? Wait, is he your boyfriend?" Mr. Dracula said

"Why does everyone think me and Noi are dating? No he's just a friend."

"I'm a man." Noi said

"What is a man?" Mr. Dracula asked out loud

"Hehehe careful, your senile is showing." Mr. Green said

"At this point it's just a free show." Mr. Dracula said

"Also Ava, do your parents know about him?" Mr. Green asked Ava

"He's just a friend and we're going now. Come on Noi!" Ava dragged Noi with her

"Are you angry with me Ava?" Noi asked her

"No its just everyone thinks we're dating and it's really frustrating." Ava said

Ava let out a frustrated sigh. "Let's just go."

They all got home and Lorelai visited them, Noi took this opportunity to aske Lorelai what Ava said. "Hey Lorelai, can I talk to you for a moment?"

"Sure Noi, what's up?"

"Well Ava's been frustrated with everyone saying that we're 'dating', what is it exactly?" Noi asked her

"Well dating is regularly spending time with someone you have a romantic relationship with." Lorelai explained

"That sounds a lot like courting but Ava and I aren't dating or courting each other." Noi blushed

"Well with the time you guys spend together, I can see why people think you guys are dating or courting whatever you call it."

'Though the thought of courting Ava sounds nice...' Noi thought

"Well other humans have called me Ava's 'boyfriend', what does that mean?"

"A boyfriend is a regular male companion who has a romantic or sexual relationship with someone." Lorelai explained

"Oh gods..." Noi blushed

"Well it looks like you need a moment to collect yourself so I'll leave..." Lorelai left the room

Noi sat down, face red. Humans thought he and Ava were in a romantic and sexual relationship? It brought him back to what Adelinda said.

'Not platonically, you feel your feelings of attraction towards her.'

Andrew and Devon, Ava's adoptive fathers, walked down the street towards Ava's apartment.

"Hmm maybe we should've called first." Andrew said

"Darling you know our baby, she secretly loves surprises." Devon said

"She faints when suprise Devon. Besides, it sound like your excuse to catch her off guard and meet her supposed 'boyfriend' you saw on her Instagram." Andrew said

"No! Maybe! Look this is our baby we're talking about, I just wanna make sure some guy isn't taking advantage of her." Devon admitted

Andrew sighed. "Look, I know your worried for Ava I am too but she has to meet people who will accept her and grow. Remember when she met Lorelai? I haven't seen her so happy."

"Fine, I'll give him a chance. Maybe he'll be good for her." Devon said

"Ok, now let's go talk to Mrs. Oats. Maybe she knows something about Ava's boyfriend."

"Ava's boyfriend? Sure I've seen him a few times in Ava's apartment." Mrs. Oats told the parents

"What did he look like?" Andrew asked her

"He was a handsome one, that was for sure. He was tall and lean too, oh and those beautiful eyes. Ava's a lucky one. I'm sure those screams were full of love."

"Screams? What kind of screams?" Andrew asked, a cold feeling forming at the pit of his stomach

"Oh how do you think young people show their love for each other? With the amount of screams I hear from Ava, he must be quite amazing in bed." Mrs. Oats said

"A-Ava, she's...?!" Andrew and Devon were pale

"I hope they use protection, but I bet their children will be beautiful. I hope Ava gives both of you many grandchildren."

"Ava, we're coming Pumpkin!" Andrew and Devon ran to Ava's apartment

Ava was looking at the old camera, Mrs. Oats said she'll pay her if she could fix it. Ava tried to look online for a way to fix it.

"Ava what are you doing?" Rhys came into the room

"I'm trying to fix Mrs. Oats camera but I've been looking online and haven't found anything, I may have to use my magic to fix it." Ava said as she looked on the computer

"It looks like a relic." Pierce said

"Does it have any power?" Leif asked

"No it's just how humans took pictures before phones." Ava explained

"Can we help? I wanna examine it." Rhys asked

"Sure you guys can!"

It took a lot of work up they managed to fix the camera. Some parts were complicated and Ava had to use magic to fix it but the camera was better than new!

"Can we take a photo?" Rhys asked

"Sure! I mean I got to test it before I take it back to Mrs. Oats, right?" Ava set the camera up

"We can move the couch over there and-" Ava stopped when she saw Noi lifting it over his head like it weighed nothing

"Wow you can do that?" Ava asked in amazement, she wondered what it would be like to be carried by him

Ava blushed at that thought, where had such a thought come from?!

"Any of us can do that, it's not special." Asch said

"You can move it over there." Ava said as she blushed

"Sure thing!" Noi said

They all took their photo and all of them left, except Noi. A few days after the park, he's been having thoughts about him and Ava. He talked to Lorelai about it and made him realize he's in love with Ava, then Lorelai gave him a crash course on relationships and all things romantic.

Him and Ava were currently sitting on the couch, Ava wanted to hear him purr again. Her head was against his chest as she leaned onto him. It felt natural, he put her arm around her waist and she didn't say anything.

"This is nice." Ava said

"Yes it is." Noi agreed with her

"We should do this more ofter, it's so relaxing." Ava said

Noi blushed, he imaged that they were cuddling and they would start to caress- or kiss as Lorelai would call it. He wanted to tell Ava how he felt and hoped she would feel the same way. He wanted to put his arms around her and never let her go. He wanted to kiss her on her soft lips and--

Noi visibly jolted, his thoughts were getting out of control. His face was red and he breathed heavily.

"Noi you ok?" Ava asked in concern

He had to tell Ava how he felt, it wouldn't do any good keeping it in. He wanted to tell her all the things he felt since he got to Earth.

"A-Ava, I have to tell you something."

"What is it Noi?"

"Do you love me?" Noi asked her

It was now Ava's turn to blush. "W-What?"

"Is love something humans care about?"

"I-I mean yeah, love is very important to humans. Isn't that something you guys care about on Daemos?"

"It's not. Usually daemos who end up together were arranged for them, rarely anyone is together because they love each other." Noi explained

"That's... actually kinda sad." Ava said

"It is. That's why most daemos don't fear or respect me even as my position as a Knight, because I visibly express love and compassion." Noi said

"Noi..."

Noi sniffled. "E-Everyone called me weak and useless. That I was a disgrace as a daemos. I didn't like to fight but I had to for survival. I would've been killed if Asch hadn't spared me." Tears escaped from Noi's eyes

"Oh Noi..." Ava drew him in a hug, her small arms around his tall and lean frame

"It's alright, no one will judge you here. If they do, I'll curse them." Ava promised

"I'm not scared of that. It's just... I have feelings for you!" Noi admitted

"W-What?" Ava's face was red

"I'm a daemos! All I've ever known is fighting and violence, I don't know how to love someone who is so wonderful like you. You're one of the only people who was kind to me just because! I wanna love you but I don't know how! I'm scared I'll accidentally hurt you! I'm scared you won't love me back and I'll ruin our friendship... what if I..." Noi trailed off, unable to speak anymore

Ava cupped his face with care, making him look her in the eye. She dried his tears with her thumbs and kissed him on the eye. She littered his face with kisses until he calmed down, his face was bright red afterwards.

"Noi, I don't know how to love either. I've never dated someone or was in a relationship. I was scared I'll be taken advantage of and they wouldn't love me for who and what I was. But with you, I feel safe. I know you care about me and wouldn't hurt me for anything. I love you for your compassion and kindness, it drew me to you. I don't know how to love either but I'm willing to try with you." Ava said

A powerful, electric feeling bloomed in Noi's chest and spread throughout his body. It take him a moment to figure it out what it was, it was love. Pure, unfiltered love. It encompasses every inch of him, inside and out. It overtake him and controls him, both of them.

Noi's hands snake around Ava's waist and Ava snaked up to the back of his neck. Ava looked deeply into Noi's amber-lit eyes, and Noi into her pink ones. Except now there was no sadness in them, no fear, no tears. Only love.

Their lips come closer and closer until...

*Slam*

The front door slammed open and Ava's dads came through and saw Noi's horns. "Pumpkin!"

Ava and Noi threw their bodies away from each other at the sudden noise. "Dad! Pop! This isn't what it looks like!" 

"I told you! Ava accidentally used her magic to summon a demon and it's trying to seal her soul!" Devon said to his husband

"What!? No it's not like that! It's..."

"Get away from our baby! She's our sweet innocent little girl, have you got no morals demon?!"

Ava had to think fast. An idea came to her, it was far fetch but it could work.

"I found him beaten up in an alleyway on the verge of death! I brought him back to my apartment and nursed him back to health, then we started to bond with each other and now we're together!" Ava said the fake cover up story

"He's not trying to seal my soul, I promise!" Ava said

"That's right! I'm her boyfriend and I love her very much!" Noi spoke up

Ava's dads were quiet for a moment before tears welled up in their eyes. "AVA!" They threw themselves onto their adoptive daughter

"We were so worried that you would never find someone but I'm glad you did, even if he's not human." Devon cried as he hugged his daughter

"As long as he keeps you happy, I couldn't care what he is." Andrew said as he hugged his daughter too

They let her go and dried their tears then looked at them with smiles. "Sorry about that demon, we're just a little overprotective of our baby. As a way to make it up to you both, how about me and Devon take you out to lunch?" Andrew offered

Ava and Noi were silent before Ava spoke up. "Sure! Just... ah... give us a moment to freshen up!" Ava dragged Noi into the bathroom

"What are we gonna do?!" Ava asked out loud, her voice quiet but full of panic

"I've never been on a date before!" She said

"Just act yourselves." Leif said

"Ahhh Where'd you come from?!" Ava asked Leif, who was sitting in the tub

"I was taking a relaxing bath until you two barged in here. Now back on topic, just act yourselves. You two always act lovey-dovey whenever your around each others." Leif said as he went back under the waters

"Ok, let's just act ourselves and get this over with. You good Noi?" Ava asked the happy daemos

"I'm just glad you love me back and now we're going on a date!" Noi said

Ava blushed and took a deep breath to calm herself.

'Calm down. You and Noi both like each other and you've seen many dates on TV before, just copy what they do.' Ava thought to herself

"You ready Noi?" Ava held her hand out

"Ready as I'll ever be." Noi said as he took her hand

"Hey Leif, where are Noi and Ava? I can't find them anywhere." Asch asked

"Oh Ava's fathers came by and thought Noi and Ava were courting each other and took them out to eat." Leif said without a care in the world

"Ok when they get back from their date I'll- wait what did you say?"

"Ava's parents came over and took Noi and Ava out for lunch."

"Why didn't you say anything?!" Asch asked Leif

"Because the two finally got together, I was getting a little bored of them being all lovey-dovey whenever they were around each other." Leif explained

"Fine, I'll talk to Ava when she gets back." Asch walked away

Noi and Ava stood outside of the restaurant while Ava's father's got them a table. They were both holding hands trying to make it seem like they were together.

"Make sure you mind your table manners, I've seen how you guys eat." The first few night she had to clean the kitchen repeatedly until she taught the daemos some table manners

"Alright but what are we eating?" Noi looked inside of the restaurant

"We're going to have one of my favorite foods of all time: pizza." Ava said

"Pizza? What's that?" Noi asked, pizza didn't sound like anything he had on Daemos

"It's basically baked bread with tomato sauce and cheese cooked with different toppings." Ava explained

"It's sounds nice." It sounded appetizing

"Trust me, wait until you take your first bite." Ava said lightheartedly

Noi just laughed, he felt so carefree and happy around Ava. He could get used to this.

Devon came out. "Alright lovebirds, our table is ready."

The two sat next to each other as Ava's dads sat across them. They didn't eat much, mostly saving the pizza for Ava and Noi. Noi, however, took his first bit of pizza and instantly fell in love with the dish. He gave the most adorable and precious expression to which Ava laughed, which also made Noi blush.

"So... Noi, is it? My husband and I have a few questions if you don't mind." Andrew asked

"Of course, I don't mind." 

"Do you know of Ava's... 'Abilities'?" Devon asked Noi with a serious expression

Noi could feel his throat tightening, were they talking about Ava's magic? Noi swallowed and spoke. "Yes I know of Ava's abilities and they don't bother me."

Both Andrew's and Devon's expressions brightened. "Well that good, or else we'd have to get an exorcist!" Devon laughed heartingly with the undertone of a threat

Noi gulped at the intended threat but tried to put on a brave face. Ava saw this and tried to steer the conversation somewhere else.

"So Dad, how's your campaign going?"

"Haven't you been keeping up?" Andrew said teasingly

"I have! So far you've been winning a lot of people over about saving the ecosystem and new jobs for the homeless, I couldn't be more proud of you Dad!" Ava said

"Well it was your idea Princess. The city is running out of resources and some of the homeless people I've talked to are actually decent people."

"What's a campaign?" Noi asked

Andrew wheezed in shock while Devon tried to calm him down. "My Dad is running for city council, which is like a Leader to a lot of people."

"Does that make you a Princess?" Noi asked

Did she qualify as a Princess under Daemos standards?

"I guess so..." Ava sounded unsure

"I'm dating a Princess?" Noi was starstruck upon hearing this

"Aww look Andrew, he's so enamored with our baby!" Andrew said

"I can see that Devon."

After a while, Ava's parents took them home. 

"Well that was something, how ya doing Noi?" Ava turned to Noi

"Noi?" Noi was blushing madly

"Does this mean we're together now?" Noi asked

Ava blushed. "W-Well I don't know, let's just go through this slowly and one step at a time. Ok?" 

"Ok. Goodnight Princess Ava."

"Goodnight Noi." Ava kissed him on the cheek

Noi blushed and Ava opened her room door. Noi decided to do something he wanted to do earlier.

"Ava." 

"Yes Noi-" Ava was cut of by Noi giving her a peck on the lips

"Have good night Ava." Noi then escaped into the pocket dimension

Ava went to her room and laid down on her bed, thinking about what happened today. Johnny sat next to her head, meowing as if to ask her where his mistress had been.

"I was on a date Johnny, with Noi." Ava said to her familiar

Johnny meowed again and Ava covered her face with her hands. "Yes he did kiss me Johnny but it was just a peck on the lips, not a full kiss."

*Knock* *Knock*

Ava sat up from her bed. "Who is it?"

"It's me, Asch. I was alerted that you have returned home." Asch said from the other side of the door

Ava stood up from her bed and opened her door. "Do you need something Asch?"

"No, I merely wish to show you something."

"Can't it wait until morning?" Ava rubbed her eye

"I'd rather you see it now."

"Ok so show me it."

Asch removed his cape that was covering his right hand and revealed another cat. But this cat was a lilac purple with amethyst eyes and a crescent moon on its forehead.

"Did you smuggle a cat in here?"

"No, it appears to be a Spirit from Daemos. My Grandmother must have instructed it to keep an eye on us." Asch said, the spirit purring in his arms

The Spirit then looked at Ava before hopping into her arms and curled against her chest.

"Well you're friendly, aren't you girl?" Ava petted the spirit, to which they purred in response

"I think I'll call you Mirage." Ava said

"The Spirit likes you. It's uncommon for Spirits to like someone outside the orders their given." Asch said

"Aww you like me?" Ava asked the Spirit

The Spirit meowed before climbing onto her shoulders and hopping into her room, where they cuddled next to Johnny.

"Anything else you wanna tell me?"

Asch blushed. "W-Well, hypothetically, if you had to ask out a certain dark blue daemos, how would you do it?"

'Dark blue daemos? Isn't that...?' Ava's eyes snapped wide open at the realization

"You like Rhys?!" 

"Shh! Not so loud, he might hear you!" Asch shushed her

Ava laughed at Asch's flustered face. "Stop laughing!"

Ava, now younger, hid behind a couch. She wasn't in her apartment anymore, she was now in a small house by the country side. Ava covered her mouth with her hands to stifle her laughter.

"Oh, where are you? My beautiful bloom?~" An older woman came into the room Ava peaked over the couch to see a woman who looked like her but with brown eyes.

"Oh my Darling Mija, where did you go?~" Sylvanna asked out loud Ava hid behind the couch again, giggling at her mother's actions.

"Gotta!" Sylvanna suddenly grabbed her and pulled her daughter onto her lap

Ava kept laughing as she tried to squirm out of her mother's hold as she kept littering her face with kisses. Sylvanna's gentle hold then turned into a tight grip.

"M-Mommy...? You're hurting me."

"Oh?" The smell of smoke filled the room

"Sorry baby, Mommy isn't feeling too good." Flames suddenly engulfed her mother's face Ava let out a scream as she watched her mother burned.

Suddenly rockes and bottles were thrown through the windows and the fire grew. Smoke filled her lungs as the fire consumed her.

Her mother, with her last dying breath, touched her daughter and mumbled a spell before everything went black

Ava gasped awake, she instantly sat up on her bed. Johnny and Mirage looked at the mage with concern.

"I-I'm fine guys, just a bad dream." Ava said to the feline beings

Ava got up from her bed and to her desk. She took out a journal and started writing about her dream, a habit of hers she developed when she dreamed about countryside house and the mysterious who claimed to be her mother. When she finished writing, she looked at her alarm clock. It was almost 2 am.

'Guess I'm not going back to sleep.' Ava brought out her grimoire and started working on her craft

The sun had risen and the Daemos had woken up. They exited their pocket dimension and into Ava's apartment. They haven't seen Ava yet, she usually slept in late but this was late for even her. Leif decided to check on her. He knocked on her door a few times but after a few minutes of no response, he slowly opened her door.

The room was dark since the curtains were closed. The only lighting were the candles at Ava's desk were she was sitting. Leif teleported behind her. She hadn't noticed her presence yet so he peered over her shoulder to see what she was doing. She was reading and writing in a book and mumbling words he couldn't make out.

"What are you doing?" He decided to make his presence known

Ava shot up from her desk and used her magic to knock Leif to the other wall. Her arms was out glowing with magic and her eyes her glowing too.

"Hey its me!" Leif said, trying to get Ava's attention

Ava's eyes stopped glowing and she dropped her hand. "Leif, what did I tell you about knocking!?"

"I did knock! You didn't answer!" Ava looked taken back at this.

"O-Oh, I'm sorry Leif. I guess I was too wrapped up in my craft to hear or sense you."

"It's fine, I've been put through worse. Besides, I'm curious about what you were doing."

"Umm magic?"

"Wait Human Magic?! This I gotta see!" Leif said like an excited child

"Umm sure, I'll show you." Ava said Ava showed him her grimoire. Leif tried to read it but to him, it looked like a bunch of squiggly lines and pictures.

"Human Magic is different compared to Daemos Magic." Leif said

"How so?"

"Whenever Daemos learn magic or spells, we learn it almost immediately. You just write your spells in a book." Leif said

"You're saying Daemos have perfect memory?"

"Pretty much yeah."

"Can you tell me more about Daemos?" Ava patted the spot next to her

"Sure." Leif sat across from her on her bed

"Daemos Magic is used more offensively, since we mainly use it for fighting. Human Magic, from what I can tells, is more subtle. You don't use it for fighting, so what do you use magic for?" Leif asked

"Magic here is mostly used for Protection, Healing, and Creation." Ava said

"Daemos use Magic for mainly Fighting and sometimes for Protection, Magic is mostly used as a tool or weapon on Daemos." Leif said

"Wow..." Ava pit her head down on her pillow

Leif soon followed after her. "Something on your mind?"

"It's just... what I'm getting is that Daemos Magic is like a force. It's part of you like the blood in your veins, extended and taken form. You can control it to your will. Human Magic, you can't control it. It moves alongside you. When you breathe, it's breathes with you. It becomes one with your soul the more you accept it and the more powerful you become." Ava said

"What happens if you don't accept your magic?" Leif asked

Ava rubbed her wrist subconsciously. Leif noticed some scars where she was rubbing.

"It can turn against you. Then make your own mind turn against yourself without even knowing until it's too late."

"Is that why you... did what you did?"

"I've gotten better of accepting who I am. I know there's nothing wrong with being a Witch but I've been around people who thought otherwise for so long..." Ava trailed off, obviously not wanting to continue

Leif just used his arm to pull her close and gave her a hug.

"Those humans who think you're wrong for being you are stupid. Don't tell the other's but I think... you're kinda cool... But don't tell anyone I said that!"

Ava just laughed and threw her pillow at his face. Despite the guys being here for a few weeks now, they helped her tremendously. Without them, she would probably be wasting away in her room and become even more secluded from Lorelai, her dads, and society in general.

But now, Ava felt... happier.

A few days later and Ava still hadn't slept well since. She had woken up from nightmares several times which sometimes alerted the demons in her apartment. Dark bags formed underneath her eyes, evidence that she hadn't been sleeping well. Leif offered to use his magic to lure her to sleep without any nightmares but Ava gave him a tired smile and said she didn't need it, she just needed to take her mind off of it.

Ava was currently in her room sitting in a circle. Candles and incense were lit around her as she began meditating in hopes to clear her mind and refuel her Mana. The sleepless nights took a toll on her body and soul, making it harder to produce Mana.

Ava shut her eyes and opened her Mind's Eye. The world around her turned into a dark purplish-black void. She felt her spirit go up, she looked down and saw her body. She saw her spirit outlined in bright pink. She also saw the daemos in her living room. Rhys' was an sapphire blue, Pierce's was an aquamarine blue, Leif's was an emerald green, Asch's was a bright ruby red, and Noi's was a bright amber.

She saw them talking among themselves, they sounded like they were talking underwater so she couldn't hear what they were saying. Ava tried to sense what they were saying with her Empath abilities.

Ava felt the feelings of Urgency and Thoughtfulness. Ava tried to sense more but they stood up and moved to their pocket dimension. Their spirits disappeared as they went in. Whatever spell Rhys used to create their little pocket dimension didn't let her see past the entry point.

Ava went back to her physical body and opened her eyes. With a wave of her hand, the candles and incense were blown out. Ava stepped out of her room and into her living room. She stood in front of the red outline she drew awhile back when the daemos first came here.

Ava hesitantly stuck a finger in the was then her entire hand. Ava then stuck her head into the wall. Ava saw an extravagant entrance with golden torches a red carpet that will put the Red Carpet to shame. Ava pulled her head back and stuck her head back in to see if she was imaging it or not. Ava then pulled back and looked at the wall that was hiding a secret entrance to a whole other place in her apartment.

"I have a giant otherworldly portal to another room in my apartment."

"I HAVE A GIANT OTHERWORLDLY PORTAL TO ANOTHER ROOM IN MY APARTMENT! AND I HAVEN'T EXPLORED IT!?"

Ava put her hands to her head as she tried to think about the logistics and magic of creating a whole mansion inside of her wall.

"How did they even do this? I thought it would be a few small rooms, not a whole ass mansion?!" Ava thought out loud

Ava took a breathe to calm herself. "You know what? I have just the thing for this. Time for Ava to take control."

Ava went back to her room and dug through her drawers and pulled out her giant novelty pencil. Ava stood in front of the portal again, Mirage and Johnny looked at their mistress.

"Mirage, Johnny. Hold down the fort while I'm gone." Ava said before she went into the portal

Ava now stood inside the daemos' home, Ava felt like she was in the lions den.

"When I see those demons, I'm gonna stab them with my stabby pencil and demand answers!" Ava stabbed the air

"Ava isn't playing around this time. Why is Ava speaking in third person?" Ava asked out loud

Ava ignored her own question and looked around for the daemos. While she was looking, she was admiring the pocket dimension she was in.

"Why didn't Noi take me in here? Or at least the other daemos? Are they hiding somethi-" Ava dropped her pencil by what she saw

It was incredible. It was beautiful. It was down right gorgeous! It was the most beautiful hot tub she had ever seen...

"This is the most beautiful hot tub I've ever seen...!"

...

"Wait, THEY HAD A HOT TUB AND DIDN'T TELL ME!?"

"You know what? Screw finding the guys, I get this hot tub all to myself~." Ava took of her clothes, leaving her bra and underwear on

Ava stepped into the water, which rapidly loosened every muscle in her body and made her sink deeper into the water.

"Whoa..." Ava said breathlessly

The water around her glowed, then spread to her. Ava felt the glow transfer to her. Her raven hair shined and she felt her eyebags disappear and her skin glowed the waters. Ava felt her eyes glowed brighter as her vision improved. The glow eventually died down but it was still noticeable.

"I don't know what they put in this water but I feel great~." Ava said in ecstacy

"Lady Ava?" A familiar voice called out to her

Ava turned her head to see all the daemos looking at her.

"Hi!!!~" She waved to them

"What are you doing here?" Rhys asked in curiosity and a bit of concern

"Well~ I originally can by to stab you guys with my giant novelty pencil because you have a whole mansion inside my living room wall but then I saw your guy's hot tub then decided to forgive you.~" Ava sank into the waters a little bit

"Hot tub?" Rhys asked

"She's going the think what she does in her bathtub in the spell pool." Asch said

"Spell Pool?" Ava asked

"Is it even safe for her to be in it?" Leif whispered to Rhys

"I don't know but she looked fine so far." Rhys whispered back

Ava giggle and laughed. "Come sit with me. Let's talk!"

"Should we do that? Even I thought-" Noi said

"Noi, honey, come sit by me.~ Please?~" Ava asked Noi

Noi blushed and went into the spell pool and sat next to Ava, the rest of the daemos followed. Ava leaned onto Noi as the others came in.

"You're supposed to take your clothes off but I guess I would've died from blushing or something." Ava mumbled to herself

"Why were you sitting in here?" Rhys asked Ava

"Because I thought this was a hot tub and I needed to relax." Ava answered

"How does a 'hot tub' relax someone?" Rhys asked again 

"The warm water relaxes the muscles by warming them. You also get more oxygen in your body, whoch makes you ache less." Ava explained

"Fascinating, Earth truly has some amazing things." Rhys said

"Glad you find us amazing. Besides, I have a question for you guys that's been bugging me for a while now."

"Ask away."

"So when you guy first came to Earth, you said that there was a terrible monster trying to destroy your world and you came to see if you can move your people here. Right?" 

"T-That is correct."

"But I never heard you guys mention that again. It's sounds kinda urgent." 

"It is! It's just that..." Rhys trailed off

"We know our people can handle the threat for the time being." Asch spoke for him

"Nice save." Leif muttered

"Hmm interesting." Ava laid back down

"Lady Ava, why are humans so calm?" Rhys

"Hmm, what do you mean?"

"Since we've entered this world, we haven't seen any fighting or bloodshed on Earth. Can you tell us why?" Rhys asked

"I guess we evolved not to do that? I mean bad things like still happen today but not at badly as it was years ago." Ava trailed off, looking uncomfortable

"Can you elaborate?"

"Do you know why you haven't seen any humans doing magic in public? Well because were hunted because of it."

"What?!" All the daemos shouted

Ava shook at the sudden noise and the daemos noticed and calmed down. "Forgive us, please continue."

"Before the Magicks and Witchcraft Law was passed, the Witch Trials were still in affect and you were either burned or hanged if you were found guilty as a witch."

"Did that..." Happen to you? was unsaid but everyone could feel it

"I-I was nearly burned alive for being labeled a Witch. If Madam Adelinda hadn't saved me back then, I would've died." Ava said

Noi made a mental note to thank Madam Adelinda for saving Ava when she was younger. The daemos never expected humans to be capable of this level of cruelty.

"And..." Asch swallowed a lump in his throat. "What happened after that?"

"A few years past and we were labeled as a 'Religion' so no one could put our hands on us anymore, though we survived through the skins of our teeth." Ava finished, pulling her knees to her chest

"Humans... did all of that?" Pierce said

"Yeah. My Dad is hoping to pass another law to protect people like me and we will be able to do magic without fear." Ava said

"You're father's are very kind." Pierce said

"I couldn't ask for better ones." Ava wiped away a tear

"Anyways, let's talk about something else! Noi! Did you like the pizza?" Ava turned to Noi

"Yeah, it was great!" Noi said

"Pizza? Is it like ice cream?" Rhys asked curiously

"It's better than ice cream." Ava laughed

"Lies! I will not take this slander!" Rhys yelled

"I'll give you 10 reasons why pizza is better than ice cream." Ava stood up and walked towards Rhys

"Reason 1-ACK" Ava tripped and fell to the floor

"Hahahahaha!" Asch laughed as Ava's clumsiness

"Wait Asch is laughing?" Leif said out loud

Ava pulled herself up and glared at Asch while he was laughing. Then Ava launched a water ball into his open mouth. He coughed out the water and glared at Ava back.

"You shouldn't keep your mouth open, you'll catch flies." Ava stuck out her tongue at him

"So that's how it's gonna be? Alright then." Asch said

"Bring it." Ava challenged

Asch kicked some water at Ava but she dodged it and the water his Pierce instead. Everyone gasped as Pierce stood up and faced Asch. Pierce used his magic to launch a stream of water at Asch.

Asch moved his now wet hair out of his eyes and laughed before launched himself at Pierce. The two engaged in a light hearted water battle. Everyone else then dissolved into trying slash the other. Rhys used his Ice Magic to make the water cold, Asch used his Fire Magic to create steam, Pierce used his Water Magic, Leif used his Teleportation Magic, and Noi and Ava tried to dodge the best they could.

Eventually they all sat back down, breathing heavily from all the fun they had.

"That... was... fun!" Leif said breathlessly

"I... agree..." Pierce said as well

"I must admit... That was pretty fun." Asch said

The Daemos slightly crumpled to the ground in exhaustion. "I believe now we should turn in for the night."

"Agreed."

The Daemos walked out of the spell pool but noticed Ava was still sitting in it. "Lady Ava, are you not retiring for the night?"

"In a few minutes, I wanna spend some more time in your guy's hot tub.~" Ava said

"Very well, I will escort you back when you are ready." Pierce sat on the edge of the spell pool

"Aww... Thank Pierce, you guys can go one ahead. I'll take care of myself."

"If you wish so." And with that, the Daemos left

Some time had passed and the Daemos left to sleep. Pierce looked like he was sleeping while sitting up. Ava was about to leave and ringed out her hair, which still kept its shiny look. Ava tried to shake of the water on her skin but she felt it still lingering on her skin. Ava felt rather weird now, she checked her arms, stomach, and legs for something weird but nothing was out of place.

'I feel... weird. Like I feel lighter and more energetic than usual. Does the water have magical properties?' Ava thought

Ava tried stepping out but felt her limbs growing heavier. Ava sat back down and leaned back, feeling to tired to even sit up. Her whole body felt sluggish. There was a warm feeling in her chest that she couldn't ddescribe. Her eyelids suddenly felt 10 times heavier and slowly slid shut.

'A... few minutes... wouldn't hurt... Right?' Ava thought before she lost consciousness

"Ava!" Leif shouted as he teleported throughout the pocket dimension

"Ava!"

"AVA!"

Leif just let out a frustrated sigh and decided to ask Pierce where Ava was, he was the last one with her.

Leif walked into the spell pool room and teleported next to Pierce who was sleeping.

"Pierce. Pierce. Pierce. Pierce. Pierce. Pierce!" Leif kept poking the light blue daemos

"What is it Leif?" Pierce asked, his eyes where still shut

"Do you know where Ava is? She's not in her room."

"And why do you want to know where Lady Ava is?"

"So I can wake her up. We both know she can't wake up on her own so I decided to do it for her, because if I don't then she'll sleep for the whole say."

"Well as you can see, Ava is right in front of me." Pierce gestured at Ava who was very still

"Cool, thanks Pierce!" Leof teleported in front of Ava

"Avaaa.~ Time to-" Leif cut himself off to examine Ava

Her whole body was red and she wasn't moving. Leof waved his hand in front of her face to get a reaction from her but to no avail. Leif then poked her face but Ava didn't move.

"Huh?" Leif didn't have enough time yo say anything else because a fire ball threw him back

"Leif, I thought you were done trying to kill Ava." Asch stepped into the room

"She's already dead!" Leif yelled out

"What?!" Asch and Pierce said at the same time

Asch went to Ava and lifted her body out of the waters, looking for any signs of life. All there was was Ava's blank stare.

"Wh-Who did this?! It was you, wasn't it?!" Asch barked at Leif

"It's wasn't me! I didn't kill her!"

"What do we do?" Pierce said panickly

Asch thought for a moment before an idea hit him. "Rhys!"

Asch shouted but there was no answer. Panic grew more as Rhys was not showing up.

"Wh-Where is Rhys?"

"Maybe Ava's parents have magic too and already know Ava's dead!" Leif suggested

"What does that even mean?!"

"I don't know but it probably means Rhys is dead!"

"C-Capm down, we shouldn't panic." Pierce tried to calm the two

"Ava's dead! We SHOULD panic!" Leif screamed

There was a thud sound towards the doorway and the three daemos turned to see Noi with his eyes widened in disbelief.

"A-Ava's dead?"

"Aww shit."

"Sit down Noi, we are still trying-" Pierce didn't get to finish because Noi pushed Asch down and grabbed Ava from his arms

Noi dragged Ava out of the waters, she felt limp in his arms. His throat felt like it was closing as he held Ava closer. Noi could've sworn he felt his heart break.

"Y-You're lying! S-She isn't dead... I..."

"Noi look at her!" Leif said

Noi looked down at Ava's face. "Nonono this can't be happening." Noi whimpered

"Noi, give her back..." Pierce said calmly

"No! I won't let you just throw her body away!" Noi's eyes glowed threateningly, Noi ran out and carried Ava in his arms

"I'll find a way to reverse this Ava, I promise." Noi vowed

Rhys was reading a book in the living room when Noi came running out their home with Ava in his arms.

"Noi, what are you doing?" Rhys asked Noi

"Ava's dead!" Noi answered

Asch, Leif, and Pierce came through the portal. "Noi! Get back here- Aww shit." Asch saw Rhys and went back into the portal

"Get out here. Now." Rhys ordered

Asch slowly came out and lifted his face to meet Rhys'. "What. Happened?"

"We do not know. She seemed fine last night." Pierce said

Rhys turned to Noi. "Give her to me."

Rhys placed Ava on the couch and placed 2 fingers on her neck and found a pulse. "She alive you idiots!"

"What?!" The rest of the daemos shouted

Ava let out a few coughs as she tried to breathe.

"Ava!" Noi was instantly by her side

"I was so worried about you!"

Ava turned her head slightly to face them and tried tl say something but no words were said.

"Shh try not to speak. You gave us quite the scare back there, just try to rest up." Noi caressed her head carefully

"What's wrong with her?" Asch said

"I think it was the spell pool." Pierce said

"It's entirely possible but we can't know for sure." Rhys said

"Place her to rest on her bed." Asch ordered

"Asch?"

"There's one thing I'm positive that humans and Daemos share, it's rest. The affects should wear of in the morning." Asch said

"Wow. Asch said something smart for once." Leif said

"Hey!"

Rhys let out a laugh then picked out Ava and went into her room and placed her on her bed. Rhys then placed a blanket over her. Johnny and Mirage both cuddled the sick mage on each side of her chest, purred to let the air flow into her lungs more.

Ava let out a violent cough and her body flew forward, Rhys gently pulled her back down to her bed.

"Just try to get some rest Lady Ava. I will leave so you can rest uninterrupted." Rhys made his way towards the door

"Get well soom Ava." And with that, Rhys left

'Hot... What happened? Why is it so hot in here?' Ava slowly regaining consciousness

Ava tried to open her eyes but they felt so heavy to do so, it took a lot of effort to even open them a little bit. Ava peaked through and saw that she was still in the spell pool. She tried to sit up or even move but felt impossible to do.

'What... happened to me? Last thing I remember was... passing out in the guy's hot tub...' Ava tried to move her arms to pull herself up but she could barely twitch her fingers

'Hot... it's hot... Why can't I breathe?' Ava felt the lack of air in her lungs

Ava felt her heart starting to beat faster in her panic. Ava tried to heave her lungs or anything to breathe but it felt like she was suffocating right there and couldn't do anything to stop it.

Ava tried to use her magic but when she did, she almost felt like her soul and mind exploded. It felt like she was a bottle and the whole ocean was cramped into her. It messed with her magic. She could barely make anything out with her mystic sense. She felt a familiar soul behind her, an aquamarine blue soul that was sitting just behind her.

'Pierce!'

Ava tried to call out his name for help but her words felt like ghost on her lips. Ava leaned back, trying to calm down and think of something; anything to help her.

Eventually Leif came in. He poked her a few times before he was thrown back by a fireball. Asch came in and said something to Leif but Ava couldn't make out what they were saying.

"She's already dead!" Ava heard Leif say

'D-Dead?... D-Do I look dead? Maybe I am and I'm just a projection of my soul...' Ava thought

Ava saw Noi come. 'N-Noi... please tell me I'm not dead... I don't want to die...'

Noi pushed Asch away and grabbed onto Ava. Ava was pulled out of the spell pool and the heat went away. Ava felt the coolness of Noi's skin was she was carried by him.

'So cool... Much better... But why can't I still not breathe?'

Noi ran through the entry point and the light immediately hit Ava's eye's, causing her to close her eyes. Ava then felt herself being put on the couch. She felt 2 cool fingers on her neck, feeling like they were trying to find a pulse.

She heard Rhys speak and say that she wasn't dead, much to the rest of the daemos (and her) relief. Suddenly it felt like her lungs were working again and she set out a few coughs and breathed very heavily to get as much air as she could.

She saw all the daemos looked at her with worry and concern before they put her on her bed. Mirage and Johnny both cuddled up by her sides to comfort their mistress. Rhys put her blanket over her and then left. Ava's eye's felt heavy again and the world faded into black.

Chapter Text

"She isn't fine by now!" Noi stood next to Ava's bed

"Calm down Noi." Asch said to the distraught daemos

"What's the deal? Why isn't she better by now?" Leif asked

"I... I-I do not know. The rest should have helped." Ava let out a cough and panted heavily

"But it only looks like she got worse." Rhys examined

"What's going on with her?" Asch asked Rhys

"I don't know, by all accounts, she seems sick." Rhys answered the best he could

"Stand back, let me handle this." Leif put his hand on Ava's forehead and it glowed pale green in healing magic

A few seconds passed and the healing magic disappeared, leaving Ava worse than she was.

"What the... She only got worse."

"What happened? She should be better after that?" Pierce said

"Perhaps your magic has gotten weak Leif." Asch said

"It has not! I learned this to show I could!" Leif defended himself

"Leif is our best healer, if his magic couldn't heal Ava..."

Rhys squinted his eyes deep in thought. "Leif, try using your magic again."

Leif did, only to leave Ava slightly worse again. That confirmed Rhys' theory.

"So my theory is correct." 

"What theory?" Leif asked the dark blue daemos

"I sensed that your healing magic was being absorbed by Ava's own magic. Instead of healing her, it turned Leif's magic into energy." Rhys explained

"She absorbed Leif's magic...?" Pierce eyes widened

"Is it even possible to do that?" Asch said

"But what does that mean for Ava?" Noi asked, not leaving Ava's side

"The spell pool had an adverse effect on Ava and her magic. It is possible the magical waters of the spell pool had mixed with Ava's magic and resulted into this." Rhys gestured at Ava's state

"Perhaps the effects will fade within time, we just need to let her rest." Rhys tucked Ava into the blanket and left, the rest following

'Hot... Hot. It's so hot!' Ava kicked off the silk blanket off her body, allowing her body to be exposed to the cooler elements of her room

'It's still so hot! Why is it so hot?!' Ava thought as she tried to open her eyes, but they refuse to even attempt to open

Ava felt nothing but the unbearable heat that consumed her body, her veins, and with each beat of her heart.

'I feel like I need to give something but what can I give freely?' Ava thought as she tried to get up and at least stand on her two feet

Her body didn't wish to cooperate with her brain and collapsed on the floor. Ava tried to pull herself up but she felt the same rush of magic she felt in the spell pool. Ava looked down to see her skin brightening again and her faded scars glowing.

'That definitely isn't normal.' Ava stood up and forced her knees to lock in place as Ava slowly walked  to the door

Ava tried to open her eyes to let her see but they still weren't opening so she stuck out her arms to feel for the door. She did have to wait long until she felt the cold metal of her doorknob. She tried to open the door but her consciousness went blank and she fainted.

Asch and the others were discussing on how to heal Ava since Leif's magic wouldn't help. There was a loud thump and the daemos drew their weapons at the possible threat. But all they saw was an almost naked Ava passed out in the front of her room, who glowed brighter than before.

"Ava!" Noi rushed to Ava's side to check on her

Pierce rushed to Ava's side as well, he took off his robe and used it to cover the small woman. Ava whimpered as Noi tried to sit her up.

"too... much.."

Noi set her onto his lap to see her face. "Ava are you alright?"

Just as he asked that Ava jolted up and then latched onto Noi, causing the others to panic.

"Ava-mph?!" Noi went stiff as Ava placed her lips onto Noi's

Ava's eyes opened up and emitted a soft white glow. Her exposed arms began to have the same glowing entrailed into them and branched out over Noi, causing him to relax and close his eyes and to allow whatever what happening to happen. Noi could feel a sudden burst of power filling his inner core like a cool breeze, then spreading to his veins. Noi drunk as much of this power as much as Ava will give him. He felt her glow disappear and felt her lips pull away as well.

Noi opened his eyes to see Ava's pink eyes staring at his. She looked exhausted after the transition. Ava's eye's rolled to the back of her head and she passed out onto Noi.

It was quiet for a few seconds before Leif spoke up. 

"Noi? You ok?" Noi just turned to him but he couldn't form any words

"I think it’s best we leave Noi alone. Whatever Lady Ava had done still has a grasp on him." Rhys said as Pierce picked up Ava and put her back into her room

'It's warm now... not hot, but like... standing in the sunlight...' 

Ava opened her eyes to see herself standing in a field. She turn around to see a small cottage behind her.

'This feels familiar... like... home.'

Ava turned her head again to see an older woman tending to an apple tree.

"Mama!" Ava rushed to the woman

The woman turned to see her daughter coming at her, she set her basket full of apples down and kneeled to her daughter.

"Yes Mija, what is it?"

"I got a surprise for you.~" Ava's hands were behind her back

Ava pulled a flower crown behind her back and presented it to her mother. "Ta-da!"

"Mija, it's beautiful!" Her mother lowered her head to allow her daughter to clumsily place the crown on her head

Her mother stood back up with the flower crown on her head, making her daughter laugh. "Do you like it?"

"Of couse I do Mija. Mama loves anything you create."

Ava woke up to her heart beating so fast. The heat she felt earlier was more bearable now. She looked out her window to see it was night.

'I slept for the entire day.' Ava thought as she sat up

The door opened to see Rhys coming in, he seemed surprised to see her awake. "Lady Ava, your awake."

"Yeah... I am... What happened?" Ava asked

"You exhausted you're energy transferring your magic to Noi, I suggest you stay in bed. It took a lot out of you."

"Wait, I transferred my magic to Noi?"

"You weren't aware?" Rhys looked at her curiously

"No. All I remember was feeling light and excited but then it turned into an unbearable hot feeling like I was being cooked alive. All I could think about was giving something away, that just wanted to get rid of it." Ava said

"We don't know what happened, we just tried to make you as comfortable as we could."

"Wait, I think I heard of this before. Can you hand me my grimoire on my desk?" Ava pointed to a book on her desk

Rhys went to the desk and handed her the book, Ava immediately started flipping through the pages until she found the one she was looking for.

"Right here. 'Overflow of magic. Witches and wizards who have experienced this have a surplus of man that they usually transfer to a friend or partner.' " Ava read out loud

"Fascinating." Rhys said

"But it's not like I had much mana to begin with, I was-" Ava remembered and then face-palmed herself

"I wanted to refuel my mana, my mind and soul were open to receiving and that hot tub of yours... It was full of magic, wasn't it?" She asked

"You are correct." Rhys answered truthfully

"What wasn't a hot tub, wasn't it? What was it?" Ava asked him

"It was a Spell Pool. It's what daemos used to make potions on Daemos." Rhys explained

Ava rubbed her temples. "Oh my gods, I took a dip on an oversized cauldron."

Ava looked at Rhys in the eyes. "How long do you think this will last?"

"I'm afraid I do not know."

Ava laid back down on her pillow, the next few days won't be fun.

Chapter Text

Eventually Lorelai was called over, seeing as since the daemos have no idea to take care of a sick human. Ava was bedridden until the fever went away.

"One of you get a rag and a bowl of cool water, wring it and put it on her head. It'll help cool her down." Lorelai ordered

Lorelai looked through Ava's grimoire for a potion to help her. "Pierce, can you grab some herbs from Ava's room? They look like this." Lorelai showed Pierce a picture of the herbs she needed

"Of course."

"Thank you, also be sure not to disturb her. Asch, Leif, I need you two in the kitchen." Lorelai dragged them into the kitchen and began to put water in the kettle

"Leif activate your Healing Magic, Asch activate your Fire Magic." The two Demons activitied their two magicks

"Once I start the gas, aim below the kettle." The two nodded and Lorelai slowly turned the knob

"3 2 1 Now!" Asch sparked the flame and Leif aimed the healing magic to it

The flame furned from red and orange to a lime green color. "What did we do?" Leif asked

"Healing Fire, it'll increase the effects of what I'm making." Lorelai said

"I've grabbed all the necessary ingredients." Pierce came back with a few jars

"Perfect!" Lorelai grabbed the herbs from him

The Daemos watched as Lorelai danced around the kitchen, mixing and crushing herbs with a stone bowl and rock. She then put the crushed herbs into the kettle and stirred it it to mix.

"What will the potion do?" Asch asked

"It'll lower her fever and prevent any more discomfort. Although I'm not skilled in potion making enough to know it'll fully work." Lorelai explained

"Lorelai?" A new voice spoke

The Daemos jolted but turned around to see Mrs. Oats.

"Oh Mrs. Oats, how did you get in?" Lorelai asked the elder women

"Ava's boyfriend, Noi I believe, came in and told me Ava was sick. I came here to help. Are you here to help as well?" Mrs. Oats said

"Yes, I'm making her some tea." Lorelai said

"Is it chamomile tea? With one cup of that, she'll surely get better. Although she needs to eat as well." Mrs. Oats said

"Why don't you boys change into some normal clothes and run down to the store and buy some ingredients? I'm making some potato soup." Mrs. Oats poured some eat and put some honey in it and made her way to Ava's room

Ava had woken up with a huge migraine, causing her to wince and curl up into a ball. A whimper escaped her throat as she cried out in pain.

'Why does it hurt so bad?! It's didn't hurt this much before!' Ava felt tears escape her eye's as her whole body was put in pain

"Ava?" Ava turned to see Noi coming in with a glass of water in his hand

"Noi... it's hurts." Ava tried to reach out to him

Noi was by her side instantly. Ava's body started to glow white again and the symbols appeared on her skin again.

'It's seems like her magic didn't fully transfer, she'll probably need to transfer more magic for the fever to lessen.' Ava's surplus of magic was increasing at an alarming rate, the white glow filled the dark room

"make it stop..." Noi froze before rising his gaze to see two bright pink eyes glittering in tears and pain which made his heart clench

"please make it stop..." Ava begged as she tried to reach out to him

Noi sat himself next her Ava, he lifted her form and cradled her head before he rested his lips on hers. She didn't struggle and began hugging his neck as she glowed. Noi savored the sweet nectar of her magic that laid dormant in her small form. Noi could feel her muscles relaxed as he absorbed her magic into his body. Noi felt Ava's grip loosened and the glow dimmed until it was gone. Ava passed out onto his chest as Noi cradled her closely. Noi paid her back down on her bed, he brushed a loose strand of her raven hair back to the side of her face which looked beautifully peaceful.

"Such a lovely site." Noi jolted to see Mrs. Oats and Lorelai standing at Ava's doorway

"Though how about you do that when she's conscious enough to enjoy it?" Lorelai said, which made Mrs. Oats giggled

Mrs. Oats came into the room and checked on Ava's temperature. "She's seems much cooler now but we still need to give her a bath later, but we can leave her be for now. She looks like she needs it."

Chapter Text

Lorelai and Mrs. Oats drew a bath for Ava. They made sure the water wasn't too hot or cold. Then Lorelai started to prepare a healing bath ritual. She added some Lavender, Chamomile, Rose Petals, and Rosemary to the water. She put clear quarts on the edge of the bathtub and lighted some candles and incense and put on some soothing music.

"Alright bring her in." Lorelai said

Pierce came into the bathroom carrying Ava, he placed her in the bath. Ava felt the soothing warm water soaking her body. The water glowed for a moment before it went back to normal.

"Do you think this will help?" Pierce turned to Lorelai

"It should, hopefully she won't absorb the magic of the ritual." Lorelai said

They headed out of the bathroom before Lorelai came to Noi. "Noi, I want you to stay and make sure she doesn't drown herself. And because she's you're girlfriend, I trust you the most." 

"O-Ok." Noi sat beside the tub

"How are you doing Ava?" Noi asked

"Better... I'm not absorbing the magic of the ritual, it's working already..." Ava yawned

"You seem tired. Why don't you rest for a bit?" Noi suggested

"Already... slept... too much... besides... don't wanna... drown." 

"I'll make sure you won't. Just sleep if your tired, Ok?"

"Alright..." A soft yawn escaped her lips and she dozed off

Noi leaned his back against the bathtub. He listened to the soothing music Lorelai had put on. The fragrance of the flowers made their way to his nose. All of that with the dim light and the warm waters really made this relaxing.

Some time had passed and Noi heard the water splash and saw that Ava had woken up.

"You're awake. Do you wish to be out?" Noi asked

"Yes..."

Noi reached into the tub and put his arms underneath Ava's back and knees and lifted her out bridal style. Noi was thankful Lorelai had put some new underwear and bra on Ava. He set her on the toilet seat and gave her a towel to dry off.

"She's done." Noi called out through the door

Lorelai came back in and instructed Noi to take her to her room so she could dress her. Noi walked out to give them some privacy. When Lorelai was done, Noi walked in to see Ava bundled up in her blankets.

"Do you feel after the bath?" Noi asked softly

"Better... feel... not as sick... as before..." Ava said

Ava subconsciously scooted closer to Noi and cuddled against him. Noi laid down on the bed beside her, taking his arm around her waist and allowing himself to relax. He'll tend to Ava if she wishes. If she were to come to him for help or comfort... the idea sends a warm and pleasant warmth through his chest.

Ava sat up on her bed. "3,2,1..."

"Ava!"

Asch came into her room "Predictable. I didn't need to use my magic to see this one coming." Ava said

"Are you better yet?! It's been days!" Asch sounded angry but you could tell that there was concern and worry in his voice

"Mrs. Oats said it would be a few days until Lady Ava was better." Pierce said

"She's taking forever to recover!"

"Look Genius, she's awake on her own today." Leif said

"Yeah, hey guys..." Ava gave a small wave

"Ava, what took you so long to get better?" Asch asked

"Why do you wanna know, you care about me or something?" Ava said, almost teasingly

"N-No!"

"Don't buy it, I kept seeing Asch pace around in his room and didn't stop to rest or eat for anyone unless Rhys begged him too." Leif said

"Are you feeling better at least Ava?" Noi knelt beside her bed

"I'm doing much better Noi, thank you all for taking care of me." Ava said

"Y-Yes!" Noi said, blushing at the gratitude

"Wait, where's Rhys?" Ava looked around her room

"Good question. It's not common to not see Rhys with Asch these days." Leif said

"Rhys, where are you!" Asch shouted

Rhys then came into Ava's room, wearing glasses and looking happy. "I'm here! And I'm alive!"

"Wait Rhys, why do you have glasses?" Ava asked

Rhys came up to Asch and held his hands up to his face. "Asch... I can see you're face clearly."

"W-What is going on?" Asch stuttered

"The wise sage Mrs. Oats bestowed them upon me. At first I wasn't sure what had happened and I assumed that she just casted a spell on me but... this is lasting longer than any other spell we've tried on Daemos!"

"Huh what are you talking about Rhys?" Ava asked

Rhys then let go of Asch's hands and then turned at face Ava."Lady Grandma and I have been working on solving the issue with my vision distance. We've casted spells on my eyes but they were only for a short period of time but these 'glasses' are lasting as long as they are on my face." Rhys explained

"Yeah, that's what glasses do. The glass lens in them is supposed to help people read and see things better. It's doesn't work on people with already working eyes so everything just appears blurry to them." Ava explained

"Fascinating! Human Technology is astounding!" Rhys said

"Are you sure they can't be used for anything else?" Leif asked, teleporting in front of Rhys and took his glasses off of his face and teleporting back to where he originally was

"Be careful!" Ava said, she knew how fragile glasses could be

"Why." Rhys asked after seeing her panicked expression

"Maybe you can kill someone with it!" Leif said happily

He ran over to Ava and tried stabbing her with Rhys' glasses. "Oww! Hey quit it!"

"Useless piece of- *Crack*" A broken pair of glasses was now in Leif's hand

"*Dramatic Gasp*" Rhys gasped

"Uhhh oops."

Rhys and Leif then got into a fight. A big one. Rhys kept using his ice magic to throw ice projectiles at Leif and Leif used his teleportation magic to dodge them. The ice that missed Leif hit Ava's walls inside, causing them to freeze over. 

Ava saw the damage that was being done to her room and used her magic to force all the demons out of her room. She grabbed the broken glasses and started using her magic to fix them.

"You have no right to exist!" Rhys held his hands up, both charged with ice magic

"You're not the first person to tell me that!" Leif held up his cresent blades to defeat himself

Rhys shot a few ice projectiles at Leif but he used his blades to shatter them before they hit them. Then his blades froze into ice.

"Hey!"

"Next time I won't miss." Rhys said

"Wait!" Ava jumped between them and shoved the newly repaired glasses on Rhys' face

"W-Wha..." Rhys couldn't speak as he was confused by the sudden action

"I used my magic to fix your glasses. I also got you... This!" Ava held up a Derpy Eyed Munchie Bear Pop in her hand

"What.. is this?" Rhys held the ice-cream in his hands and look at it curiously

"It's a Derpy Eyed Munchie Bear Pop, it's ice cream. I figured since Noi liked it, you will as well." Ava said

"You should try it Rhys, it's really good!" Noi vouched for Ava

Rhys took a bite and then anime stars appeared in his eyes. Rhys took another bite and another until it was gone.

"Woah... you daemos really like you're ice cream, don't ya?" Ava said

Rhys cleared his throat. "I'm sorry Leif, I don't know what came over me. I..."

"Yeah Rhys." Leif said

"You-!" Rhys charged up his hands with ice magic again

Ava held up another ice pop and Rhys instantly calmed down. Ava then turned to Leif.

"Leif, we need to talk about you picking fights with others." Ava said, which made Leif groan

"Aww..."

Hello everyone, my beloved viewers who I cherish very much. Wow. First I owe you all an apology for not updating my stories. A lot has happened in the last few months. I got a job and my new life after high school makes me stressed. Don't worry, I'm not giving up on my stories. I just haven't been motivated to write. This story is the one of the ones I'm most proud of write, but I'm disappointed in myself because I think I could have done much better writing this. I'm still going to continue this one for sure and nothing is going to change about the plot or relationships. The Daemos and The Human Mage is going to have a third reboot.
