Work Text:

He coughed and coughed, small amounts of blood came out of his mouth after each painful cough. He was struggling to stay standing as he staggered across the battlefield. He was covered in blood from head to toe. Blood of a broken child, yet a monster to society.

Replaying moments before it happened, he saw the lost child before him with eyes begging for help, begging to be freed from the monster that captured him and held him in suffocating darkness. He saw the small tears that ever so prickled in those hopeless, dull, and sunken eyes. He saw the way the child was struggling to get out from the one that held him captive, the one that manipulated him, the one that groomed him into being a puppet. The child–hand extended out–trying to reach towards him, his savior, calling out to him to get him from the atrocious place he's in. Without thought, he moved closer to the child and pulled out his hand to grab him.

Within the realm, the Demon Lord was fighting against them. Fighting to let go and take the child with him. However, the young savior knew he couldn't let that happen, so he fought. He fought with the willpower he has to save the child in front of him. He was not allowing to lose him again. With all hope that was left, he called out to the child telling him to take his hand. The child hesitated at first, then went to go to him, but was stopped by a sea of hands emerging around him and keeping him hostage, drowning him within the everlasting darkness that surrounded him ever since. The child cried, screamed, begging to be let free. The savior fought for the child. Fought for everyone.

Within the realm, there was darkness mixed in with the light of hope. A light that began to shine brighter than the brightest star. An everlasting shine unable to relinquish. The Demon Lord wanted to howl in anger, but was stopped by the child before him. A child he made a monster. He tried to confide with him, but the child fought back. The Demon Lord was furious and soon raged with anger. He then tried to attack the savior, blaming him for ruining his plans, however, he was stopped by the vestiges he has killed before. The Demon Lord tried to fight against them. However, he has fallen hopeless and defeated. The child fought against The Demon Lord, making him suffocate. The Demon Lord tried to resist, but it was useless. The savior and the vestiges fought with the child. Then, there was a flash of light. A blinding light that enters. A light so exhilarating. As it disappeared, The Demon Lord screamed painfully as he crouches on himself. Bumps grew out from his body as he tried to ease the pain away. The bumps got bigger and bigger by each lasting second. Moments later, a wave of hands burst out from his body as well, coating it in a blanket of his own blood. The Demon Lord has fallen. Then, the savior looked out and saw the child weeping before him. He walked up to him and extended his hand. The child was confused at first, then he decided to take it.

The savior picked him up and told him 'Hey, it's going to be okay... I'm here to save you' in a soft, quiet voice.

The boy hugged his savior and cried. 'I'll take you where you belong...' the savior said.

Then, the realm shows an unknown place. A field of sunflowers. The child looked in awe where he's at. Then the savior placed him down and said

'Want to go play together...' as he transforms into he a child his age. The savior and the child played together around the meadow. Smiling and laughing. The child was relieved. Then a blanket of black mist surrounds them to another place, a beach. It was sunset. The child and the savior ran around together. They played and played until the savior stopped. The child looked in question.

'This is your place now...' said the savior.

'what about you?' questioned the child.

'I can't stay here.. I'm afraid..' replied the savior.

The child looked down in disbelief. 'You'll be happy here, I promise....' the boy reassured the child. 'Will you come back?" the child asked.

The savior smiled, 'I'll come back... I promise...'

The child looked up and smiled, 'you promise?' he asked.

'I promise...' replied the savior, 'Now go, they're waiting for you...'

Then, the both hugged together and parted ways when a flash appeared.

'Thank you...hero' a voice whispers out to him.

When the savior opened his eyes, he realized he wasn't in the realm anymore. He was back at the battlefield. He noticed there was red around him. He looked to see the so-called "child" bloodied and injured really badly. Then he noticed that the "child" was struggling to say something.

The savior leaned in closer... the "child" said, in a staggering breath, "Thank you... hero..." and then stopped breathing.

The savior then shook him to see if he was still there. Then, realization hit him. He started to cry quietly. Then a soft voice near him says, "Good job, you did it ninth..."

Back to present, the savior fell down on his knees and continued to cough harshly. He then fell down, not trying to stand up, and smiled tiredly at the sky above him. The rain stopped and the clouds began to part. A ray of sunlight shined on his face as he continued to smile and his vision darkening.
