Work Text:
Jisung laid on the couch in the living room and mindlessly watched videos Felix sent him on youtube. He was half covered by a blanket with his feet up on the headrest and his head dangerously close to the edge of the cushion. He really didn’t mind waiting but he was a little excited, and bored of being in his room. He, embarrassingly enough, really looked forward to movie nights with Minho. They were sort of the highlight of his week. They were really comforting, and spending time with Minho felt like connecting the last two pieces of a puzzle -- fulfilling, satisfying, complete.
“Why are you out here?” Changbin’s voice rang out from the hallway that led to his room.
Jisung barely looked up from his phone. “It’s a common space.”
“Yeah,” Changbin said, walking towards the kitchen, “but you never use it. You’re always hiding in your room.”
“Whatever. I don’t need to explain myself to you,” he muttered, pressing play on the next video.
Changbin mumbled some mocking noises back at him as he gathered a snack in the kitchen.
So, yeah, maybe Jisung came out to the living room so he would know when Minho got here. So what? It’s not that weird to spend time on the couch in your own dorm. What is Changbin even going on about?
The front door opened and Jisung shot up from the couch. Minho entered like it was his own living space, carrying a bag from the convenience store, and toeing off his shoes in the doorway. Minho greeted Changbin first because he was within eyesight before he turned to Jisung. He smiled lightly, then turned to take off his jacket. Jisung smiled fondly like the absolute mess he was, stars in his eyes and all. His phone long forgotten on the cushion behind him.
Changbin looked up from preparing his food with the most impish look on his face as he followed Minho and Jisung with his eyes. Jisung looked back at him and Changbin smirked with raised eyebrows as he popped something into his mouth. He looked at Han like he’d gotten the answer to his question from earlier. Jisung scowled at him in return.
“Sorry, I know we said 8:00 but Innie needed help,” Minho sighed and stared off at a space over Jisung’s shoulder. He looked laughably tired as he continued, “with... everything.”
Jisung tilted his head. “I thought Hyunjinnie was there with him?”
“Yes.” Minho replied, giving no other explanation.
Jisung snorted and started towards his room. Minho followed wordlessly.
“Hannie,” Changbin shouted, even though they were still in the same room.
Jisung jumped in place and turned around with wide eyes and Minho laughed at his surprise.
“What?” He asked, his eyes still wide and his voice tinged with annoyance.
Changbin smirked and pointed at his phone still lying on the couch.
“I know your whole world just walked through the door. But you might need that.”
Jisung made an expression. Something mixed with annoyance at Changbin for teasing him and embarrassment because… well… he had a point.
Han scrambled to the couch to grab his phone then shuffled back over to Minho who was already on his way to Jisung’s room.
Jisung heard Changbin’s too-loud laughter to himself echo off the walls of the kitchen as he exited the room and followed after Minho.
He bounced into the room and Minho was already sitting on the bed. Jisung plugged in his phone and set it on the dresser then flopped on top of Minho.
He huffed and groaned about Jisung being heavy, then easily lifted him to the side like he weighed nothing at all and sat up to grab the bag he’d brought from the convenience store.
Jisung giggled and leaned forward to grab the remote from the foot of his bed, then turned on his TV and scrolled through while Minho unpacked some of the snacks onto his nightstand.
“What did you want to watch?”
Minho shrugged. “Whatever you want to watch.” Then he added, “Horror.”
Jisung chuckled and looked through a few options before turning on some horror anime he’d heard about a few times before. The show started and Minho settled back onto Jisung’s pillows with his arms crossed behind his head. Jisung’s eyes wandered over his friend as the colors from the screen reflected onto him, switching colors every now and again, flooding Minho with beautiful light.
Sometimes Jisung wished he had the passion Hyunjin did for art because when he looked at Minho he wished he could have that image with him forever. The way the different colors framed his face and made his eyes shine was, honestly, alluring. He couldn’t help but let his eyes roam over his arms as they flexed slightly above his head. He truly was unreal. His fluffy, unstyled hair that fell adorably into his eyes. His perfect jawline, high cheekbones. His big eyes, so dark and intense. He could seriously look into them all day — and that was saying a lot for Jisung. He usually avoided eye contact if he could help it. But Minho, he felt safe. Looking into his eyes was comforting, like a place he was welcome and wanted.
Minho brought his fingers to his lips and, oh God, now Jisung’s attention was drawn there. Not that he was really complaining. Minho’s lips were full and pouty and this perfect shade of pink. Jisung wondered if they were soft. He could imagine how they would feel on his skin, against his lips.
He felt his face heat up. What was he thinking right now? This was too much. Minho was… well… Minho was his soulmate. In every way of the word. They fit together perfectly even when it seemed like they shouldn’t. They understood each other, and thrived in each other's company. Jisung could not ruin that with his unholy thoughts. He could not taint the relationship they had.
Even if Minho was dragging his thumb over his bottom lip right now, pulling it out ever so slightly. Jisung hitched a breath. And Minho smirked.
He smirked?! That bastard. He knew exactly what he was doing!
Jisung looked away, embarrassed, and tried to focus on the screen for, yeah okay he’ll admit it, the first time since he’d turned it on. He heard Minho giggle and he looked over.
“What?”
Minho shook his head. “It’s nothing.”
Jisung pouted and leaned his chin on Minho’s arm. “What?” He asked again, drawing out the syllables a little more this time.
He shook his head. “Watch the show, Jisungie,” he said, bringing his fingers to Jisung’s chin, tilting his face towards the screen.
Jisung did not have any thoughts about that. Nope. Not one.
The episode was nearly halfway through when Minho shifted and slid his arm under Jisung’s back. He rolled him closer, holding his waist and running his fingers absentmindedly against his ribs. Jisung tucked his face into the crook of Minho’s neck. This was normal for them; it felt natural, even. Jisung’s heart rate was going crazy despite that fact, though. Why was having Minho so close driving him crazy tonight?
Nothing significant had changed between them lately. They were always touchy like this, even in front of the cameras. Jisung always sought him out and Minho was always looking after him when they were apart. It was normal, nothing had happened. Practice today was normal too. They’d learned new choreography, Jisung had… well he might have stayed after to practice extra with Minho. But that was because he wanted to put on a good show for the fans. He wanted to be at his best. Not because Minho looked ridiculously attractive with sweat tracing down his nape and disappearing under his shirt. Not because of the way Minho gripped his waist with his absurdly strong hands during a certain part of the choreography. Not because of the way his jaw looked when he downed the remnants of his water bottle. No… because if that was true… If that was true, then that means… That means that Jisung’s feelings for Minho were much different than he thought they were. Or maybe they weren’t. Maybe he’d felt like this for a very long time and he was tired of pretending he didn’t. Maybe he wanted to think that the way Minho held him, touched him, looked at him was different than it was with the others. That the time they spent together held some significance beyond something like friendship.
Jisung tilted his face up to look at Minho, just to find he was already looking down at him. Was it his imagination? Or did Minho look incredibly fond of him right now? His eyes looked impossibly soft, his eyebrows were lifted slightly and he had the smallest smile on his lips. The kind that grows on your face without your notice or permission. The same kind of smile that Jisung saw on his own face time and time again when he watched clips from variety shows, from interviews, from concerts. Jisung wanted to believe it wasn’t his imagination.
“You’re so beautiful…” Jisung whispered without meaning to.
Minho looked away and sighed.
Jisung’s stomach did somersaults in his chest. Minho was so hard to read sometimes. What did that mean?
“Ah, Jisungie. Don’t say those things.”
Jisung furrowed his brow. “Why not? It’s true you know.”
Minho looked back at him and his expression was a little darker, a little more intense, and maybe it was Jisung’s imagination again but it looked like… it looked like want.
“Careful jagiya,” he said with a low voice before turning back to the screen.
Something came out in Jisung then, something a little bold, a little daring when he looked up at Minho and said with the most innocent look on his face: “Or what, Minho-hyung?”
Minho raised his eyebrows then settled into a smile without looking back at Jisung. “I guess you’ll see.”
Jisung’s heart was beating so fast that he was afraid Minho could feel it in the non-existent space between them. Was that an invitation? A threat? A warning? Jisung couldn’t be sure. All he knew was his blood was rushing in his ears and his heart was threatening to jump out of his chest and Minho was pressed up against him and all he wanted was to have him closer, impossibly close.
In a split-second decision, or maybe it was pure impulse, Jisung leaned up and pressed his lips to Minho’s. It was quick and sweet. A fleeting press of his lips to Minho’s. He didn’t want to cross any more boundaries than he might have already, but he couldn’t play this waiting game any longer. He needed to know.
He tried to lean back to gauge the damage he’d done but Minho’s hand was in his hair, shoving his head back down to connect their mouths again. His mouth was hot against Jisung’s, it demanded his attention, his response. And when Minho licked at Jisung’s lower lip, he opened his mouth slightly, because who was he to say no when Minho was asking so politely? Then Minho was there. His tongue pressed into his lips, licking into his mouth with passion Jisung had only ever seen from Minho on stage. He tangled his fingers in Jisung’s hair further and pulled him closer, closer, closer. Jisung whined at the dull pain and Minho smiled against his mouth.
Then his hands were on his thighs, lifting him onto his lap and sliding down to grip his ass as their mouths connected endlessly. Jisung moaned and gasped into Minho’s mouth and Minho smiled at the other’s reactions in a way Jisung just knew was cocky. Just the thought of it had him hot. And Jisung’s hands were wandering. Minho’s jaw, Minho’s arms -- god they were everything, Minho’s waist, his chest, his thighs. Jisung felt drunk on him.
Minho’s hands were moving. They were moving and Jisung felt himself getting lightheaded at where this might be going when he heard a voice say. “Oh, finally.”
He looked up, probably looking wrecked as fuck with his unruly hair, red, swollen lips, and half-lidded eyes to see Changbin in the doorway. He had his arms crossed and the most casual smirk on his face like he didn’t just walk in on two of his members in maybe the steamiest makeout session known to man -- or at least known to Jisung.
“Do you know how to knock? Why are you here?” Minho said loudly, keeping his hand dangerously high on Jisung’s thigh as he made direct eye contact with Changbin.
“I live here,” Changbin said, raising an eyebrow. “What are you doing here?”
“Jisung, hopefully,” Minho said casually with no expression on his face. He started rubbing circles with his thumb where his hand was searing on Jisung’s leg.
God he was so hot. Jisung wanted him in his mouth.
“Ugh gross, do that in your own dorm.”
“Changbinnie…” Jisung whined, threading his fingers in Minho’s hair at the nape of his neck.
“Okay, okay I'll come back later.”
“Please don't,” Jisung said, sounding more like a plea than anything.
Changbin laughed and shut the door, then called out, loud enough for the two of them to hear: “Channie-hyung I win!”
“Already?” Bang Chan’s voice replied faintly.
Jisung groaned and let his head fall onto Minho’s shoulder.
“What do you mean already? They’ve taken forever!” Changbin said, his voice getting softer as he continued down the hallway.
Chan said something in return but Jisung couldn’t make it out. He closed his eyes tightly and felt his ears flaming red.
“You picked them!” Changbin responded, cackling as he went, undoubtedly, to Chan’s room.
“Can I just die? Like, right now, preferably?” Jisung groaned into Minho’s t-shirt.
Minho laughed and turned his head. “Noooo I wasn’t done, yet,” he mumbled as he kissed and nipped at Jisung’s neck. Minho’s hands slid to his hips and he pressed Jisung firmly into his lap.
Jisung shuddered and Minho licked hotly against Jisung’s pulsepoint, making him weak.
“Ugh you’re gonna kill me,” he complained.
He felt Minho giggle into his neck.
It was too late though, Jisung's mind was racing -- and not in the fun way. He wanted nothing more than to know where Minho's hands would end up if Jisung kept his mouth shut, but he had to ask this now or he knew it would just end up causing trouble for both of them.
“Minho?” He asked suddenly.
“Hm?” He asked, his hands dragging under Jisung’s shirt as his mouth wandered to his collarbone.
Jisung swallowed, trying to focus.
“I… why are you… do you…”
Minho sat up and looked at him, his eyes warm and open.
Jisung sighed and let his head fall into his hands. How did he even ask this?
Minho grabbed his wrists and gently removed them. Jisung peeked through and Minho raised his eyebrows.
“I can stop,” he offered.
“No, no,” Jisung said quickly. “I just, I wanted to know… why?” He said, hoping Minho understood what he was asking so that he didn’t have to embarrass himself further. He hoped he knew he was really asking him Do you feel the same way I feel?
Minho tilted his head and gave Jisung a weird look he didn’t know how to read.
“Cuz you gave me permission,” he said plainly.
Jisung felt like he’d just opened a cage of butterflies in his stomach.
“I… yeah,” Jisung said with a sigh.
Minho tilted his chin up with his fingertips to force him to look back at his face.
“Jisungie?”
“Hmm?”
“You gave me permission to do what I’ve been wanting to do for… well,” he chuckled. “Time’s not important. But actually I was… unsure about how our feelings for eachother lined up. You say we’re soulmates. But, soulmates come in many different forms. Sometimes that's platonic. But you kissed me and I thought that was your way of asking me if we felt the same. So I answered. I wanted to show you.”
Jisung stared at him and felt his eyesight start to blur.
“Yah! Don’t cry!” Minho said, laughing.
“I’m not, I’m not,” Jisung said, wiping his eyes. “I just really care about you.”
“Jisung,” Minho said, tracing his jawline with his palm.
He looked up and pressed his cheek into Minho’s touch.
“I love you. I’ve said it before but I don't think you heard me, not really. So I’m saying it again. Do you hear me now?”
Jisung leaned forward so their foreheads touched and their breath mingled in front of each other's lips.
“I hear you,” he whispered, connecting their lips once again. But this time was gentle, this time was slow. Jisung smiled against Minho’s mouth and they broke apart.
“I love you too, Minho.”
