Work Text:
Changing the Rhythm
“I still don’t know how you can watch that show,” Jake said shaking his head. “I mean it’s a kids show aimed at little kids eating cereal on a Saturday morning.” Jake had never appreciated the finer points of the humor of Scaredy cat. “Can I watch an actual adult show now?”
“If I kiss you will you shut up,” he said turning to Jake who looked startled so he took the opportunity to plant one on him and push him down onto the couch. This thing between them had run hot and cold ever since they met during their days of Enforcer training with some times them just being more like friends and other times hot and heavy. Today he was aiming for the latter and based on how Jake was kissing him back he felt the same.
Things progressed pretty quickly the cover-alls and everything else came off and they gave the old couch a work out. After they were done laying together naked and content his head resting on Jake’s chest he felt him laughing, “Tell me the truth did this happen cause I don’t like your silly cartoon.”
“Maybe a little bit,” He said with a smirk turning his head upward. “Plus it’s been a while and I kind of missed this so I took the opportunity to switch things back to a different rhythm.” The truth was he had been feeling a bit jealous lately as it became clearer that Callie was kind of serious with her flirting with Jake. It had gotten him thinking of the more active times in his and Jake’s relationship and he’d been looking for an opening to get things going again.
“I should have complained about your tv shows more often then,” Jake said with a laugh, “I’ve missed this, I hate that we had to cool things down cause we got assigned together at the Enforcers.” That was true that was when things had really started to cool since they worked too well together to want to be paired with anyone else and if Feral had known they were involved they’d have been separated. “So was this a one time thing or are you looking to start things back up again.”
“I want it to be different actually,” he said giving voice to his first instinct. “I don’t want the up and down hot and heavy one minute and just the best of buds another.” He found it had to continue with how surprised and wary Jake looked. “The thing is Jake I want us to be serious this time and try to make it work not back off cause we are afraid of this screwing up our partnership, cause honestly Sure-shot I don’t think anything can every screw that up.”
“I think this is one of the best ideas you’ve had in years,” Jake said with a smirk and then there wasn’t much else to talk about at least for now, all that would come later.
The End
