Maybe Senku was very busy, and maybe he could often hardly find the time to relax (let alone get a couple hours of sleep), but there was one thing he made sure of: he’d always return home at some point during the night so you wouldn’t have to sleep alone. Somehow, he hadn’t missed a single night–well, with the exception of when he was literally rendered incapable of standing or moving by himself, but that was a moment you strongly preferred to never think about (and even then, you made sure to keep him company in return).
There were some nights when he couldn’t make it back until the sun had nearly risen, but he still fulfilled his unspoken promise–such as tonight.
You had already been asleep for a couple hours, and the sound of Senku opening the door was what had awoken you. It was somewhat irritating, but you couldn’t deny you were glad to see him again.
Although, even in the dark, you could see how much the day had worn on him. It looked like it was almost painful for him to move, and his movements just seemed rather stiff. The scientist practically flopped onto the blanket the exact moment he reached the bed.
“Hm..?”
For the first time in as long as you could remember, Senku had fallen asleep immediately without having moved or adjusted his position in the slightest. It wouldn’t normally have been an issue, but it was the middle of a nearly freezing winter night, and he wasn’t covered up at all by anything to keep him warm. Plus, he even seemed to have been shivering a bit.
Even though you were quite comfortable how you were and didn’t feel very fond of moving, you didn’t want to let Senku lie there and keep shivering.
Did he even wear a coat on the way home…?
A quiet sigh left your lips as you sat up and leaned closer to Senku. At first, you were just going to drape the blanket over him and call it good, but you realized it would’ve been impossible to pull it out from under his back without waking him. That gave you an idea–a very adorable one.
Smiling adoringly, you gingerly grabbed both sides of the blanket and wrapped them around Senku. The latter had become what some may refer to as a “blanket burrito,” and it was one of the most precious things you’d ever seen. Senku, of all people, was likely the most surprising to see in such an adorable state–but of course, that wasn’t anything to be upset about at all. All that mattered to you was treasuring your “burrito” and keeping him as cozy as possible.
